Karness Muur November Quaestor Report - It's All About That Base

Header

Aliso, 330 KM WNW of the Pinnacle

As Arden stepped off the shuttle, everything was a bustle of activity. Soldiers and slaves were moving equipment about under the tight watch of the dark Jedi of Karness Muur. The Right Wing of Dread took a deep breath of the salty seaside air and nodded. This had been only his second trip to the site of what was to be their new headquarters on Aliso, but he already was beginning to feel at home. He turned and looked up at the rock spire behind him and the structure that had been built into it and gave another satisfied nod.

“Still can’t believe we found this place, can you sir?”, Abadeer said as he rushed over to Arden.

“Not sure I’d go that far,” Arden replied. “But it is still quite impressive. How goes the conversion to our use?”

“Pretty well. We’ve installed the first of the salvaged reactors in the old temple and we should have power to the outlying structures soon. Still working on the defense perimeter but we should finish that today. Most importantly, we have your quarters ready, well, mostly ready. It’s still kind of...”

“Sparse?” Arden finished Abadeer’s sentence. “You said most of this was built by the B’oamarr, I’d expect nothing else. I have some things on the way to spruce the place up.”

It’s All About that Base

So, as you might have heard in my Aedile’s report, we Muurians are moving to a lovely new place on Aliso. While those Pallites are moving into a busted up old ship, we’re moving into a picturesque seaside monastery. Behold, Korada Monastery. I originally had something else in mind, but eventually we settled on this lovely establishment. Some might have noticed a quip Arden made in the last report fiction about an amusement park. That wasn’t just randomly inserted, it actually with the inspiration for the location, a piece of concept art for Star Wars Land at Disneyland.

Inspiration

Cards Against Plagueis and Other Competions

As some of you were aware, I just wrapped up a competition inspired by the “party game for horrible people” Cards Against Humanity. I was originally planning to include some of the winning submissions in the report but, given the inherent NSFW nature of CAH, I’m going to refrain from posting them here and instead point you to the response spreadsheet I used while grading. Sharp eyed folks will notice that there was a tie for first place based on total points. I had prepared for this by enlisting the assistance of an esteemed guest judge. As one of the questions was “Howie denied my medal for ____” I had the panda himself break the tie between the two folks in first place. On the basis of the Panda Point tiebreaker (tm) the win goes to none other to the other wing of dread, Laren!

While there are a number of interesting competitions going on right now, I want to highlight one in specific. The folks over in ACCland are running a month long competition that looks to be a ton of fun. If you’re an ACC veteran, go flex your writing fingers a bit. If you’re new to the ACC, events like this are an excellent way to practice, especially since you never know who you’re going to be paired with and you might learn something. So be like this adorable little guy and go get your enemies!

Probing Platypus Evolution

New Faces

I’d like to quickly welcome the artist formerly known as Arturis, Castor Paratus back to Karness Muur. The ex-bunny was at one time a former Quastor of Karness Muur and is an overall fun dude to be around. Also wanted to welcome back Kodias as well.

Closing Thoughts And Moment of Zen

Well, with the Aftermath event, the ACC comp, and making the new HQ, it’s been a rather busy month for me. And, honestly, I like busy over the alternative. We still have plenty to keep everyone else busy and are always willing to help if you need it. If that’s enough, watch these Dancing Bears!

Nice report - loving the new base, can't wait to see that developed. Platypus wins though!

The one question I have about the new base: Will I have to stand in long lines for the rides?
