From the Wiki
Legions of the Scholar are awarded for the creation of and victory in trivia-based competitions both via Discord, and standard competition trivia though the latter may choose to grant crescents instead. Trivia may be Star Wars-related or miscellaneous in nature, with the creator as well as first and second place finishers receiving legions.
This was true for a very long time, people would randomly host trivia events on IRC (and then Telegram) - top two placers would receive the medal, and we'd move on. These days, most people tend to set up their competitions in advance, put them into the site, have all the participants accounted for, and because things are done in advance? The competitions are bigger.
Therefore, I think the cresecent system we have now is more appropriate for trivia competitions. More people will get more medals. And that's a good thing.
So I have disabled the Legion of the Scholar for top 2 and top 1 placement competition award levels, so everyone that is hosting trivia competitions can just use the appropriate crescent level (1st for DC hosted DB wide, 2nd for DB wide, 3rd for clan, etc.).

Another body for the pile! Glad to see progress.
Sounds reasonable to me. Having a seperate thing like that was something I've been confused about for awhile.
Excellent change. More crescents and hopefully more folks will show up because of it.
Excellent.
Can't say enough about this change. Especially now with escalating crescent levels and additional crescents being awarded for higher participation numbers, it only makes sense to retire the Legion. Good show, old man!
Makes sense and is good for the membership.
Great news!

Not my precious
Mmm, glad I got one of those badbois before they became a coveted legacy item. <3
So precious
Focus on awards that have meaning...excellent!
Good move. It seemed a bit weird and sort of old fashioned since regular trivia competitions awarded crescents, but these sorts of live trivia events gave something else.
