Introduction

Hey, look! I actually have graphics now. Amazing, eh? Big ol’ thanks to Mirus the report graphics wizard of the Brotherhood for helping me out with some small things I couldn't figure out. I may be an artist and I can draw, but I don’t know jack about how to use Photoshop for how you’re supposed to use Photoshop.

In other news, my report will officially be on the 20th of each month. We’re following a new(ish) setup for reports, so you’ll be seeing one every 5 days or so! I know y’all love your news reports.

Recruiting for Odan-Urr

Seeing as recruiting is so important for us, I’m going to have a section on this every month. So read it!

Recruits are our lifeblood. Sure, we have our long standing members and those who have recently gotten to Jedi Knight, but adding new people to our group of Jedi is incredibly important. I know we all love being a close, tight knit group of people, but for us to keep introducing fresh minds with fresh ideas into our little family is what keeps us going and helps us continue to compete with the other Clans and Houses. We can’t stand still forever. We can’t live off our Equites and Jedi Knights. We need to keep refreshing and renewing ourselves-- and this has never been so important as it is now.

We need to show the Brotherhood we’re still growing. That we’re not just accepting things how they are right now and living with that. To stop growing and being happy with what we have could destroy us. This is a very real possibility. It is with absolutely any House or Clan. We, the House of Odan-Urr, don’t know what’s in our future. We know what we want-- and that’s clanning. But the way we are? It’s not going to happen. We have most of what we need; but the thing we need the most is forever occurring.

And this is new members.

As Jedi, we cannot stagnate. We need to keep adapting to what the others throw at us. We need to keep growing. So keep recruiting, guys. It’s for whatever our future may hold.

Upcoming Rollmaster Projects

The Welcome E-Mail

Oh hey, wasn’t this here last month? You bet it was.

I’ve noticed that my current email’s a bit too long and kind of a pain. So hopefully I’ll be splitting it up into smaller emails to not overwhelm new people. Why am I telling you this, you ask?

So I don’t slack off, of course!

Potential Master/Padawan/Rollmaster Communication Group

I’ve been throwing this idea around in my head some, but as said within our Master/Padawan guidelines, the masters are to send me e-mails every two weeks to let me know how their Padawans are doing. I’m tossing around the idea of an easier communication way for this.

E-mails are great, but with how busy our mailer can get and what not, I’m thinking of doing it another way. What way, I’m not sure yet. I’m very open for suggestions. I want to promote communication between the Masters and Padawans, but at the same time I’d love to see some extra communication between the Masters themselves and have the Padawans talk to each other as well. It can be intimidating to join into the IRC or mailer group as a new person, and perhaps talking to people around the same newness level as them might open them up some more.

Suggestions? Comments? Feel free to e-mail me and discuss this with me!

Master/Padawan News

This is a special section for this month only.

I’d like to remind all of those with Padawans that there is a new set of procedures when it comes to having a Padawan. This wasn’t so much in effect before I became Rollmaster, but now that the page has been updated, I will be holding it to you guys.

So anyone with a student; your first short report to me about your Padawan and their progress is due to me on SEPTEMBER 3RD. If you do not get this to me, consider your Master/Padawan pair at risk or broken.

There is no goofing around with this anymore. The only exception is if your student is already at Jedi Knight or if you cannot get a hold of your student, which you must prove to me via e-mails in which you attempted to contact them. The students are also able to call out on their masters; so please keep in touch with each other, guys. Even if you’re a bit busy.

The Happenings

House Odan-Urr Competitions

Hey guys, it’s comedy month! Well, it was comedy month. It sort of is still. But there’s still a few competitions left to do! Join in on them!

We’re starting some more serious stuff back up next month, so join in and have some fun! Not to say you don’t have fun with the serious stuff, but this lets you goof off to your heart’s content.

Brotherhood Wide Competitions

Don’t forget about those club wide competitions! HOU represent! There’s not a whole lot to showcase right now, but don’t forget to check the competition page periodically!

A note for one of the competitions above; Gorefest is from the 22nd to the 24th. It’s a short window, but remember! CFs are doubled and you can win crescents this way! So get out there and game this weekend, guys! Show that dark side that HOU can kick their butts!

Have you been reading the news? I sure hope so. The news is important, guys.

As for the Leadership Awards Course, go do it! It gives a very good insight on how awards work and what we put into them to make sure you guys are rewarded to our best abilities. Not to mention, if we get a high percentage of people in the House that has done it, we could potentially win something from the MAA!

Let’s win for HOU and have pride in what we’ve done! You have until AUGUST 31ST to finish this course.

In Closing

Always think about recruiting. It’s incredibly important. Keep active! It’s good to keep active in the mailer, but do a competition or two every month! Do some gaming, play some Pazaak, hop on the irc--- we want to see you guys!
