All the drinking was over, the food gone as well. There was snoring in the hallways and snoring in the rooms, and old fashioned music played over the comms. All through the ship was sighing in a warm and gentle way, for all the people in it slept where they lay. Celebrations were done and the Barabel agreed.

The control room was coated in sleeping bodies, the scent of alcohol reeking from their immobile bodies. Zakath swished his tail angrily as he pushed more than a few from his path. His expression was one of sheer irritation, his lips lifted ever so slightly from his razor-sharp teeth in a sneer.

One body lay flat atop the navigation console, the limbs hanging haphazardly. Zakaths nostrils flared subconsciously and he strode over to the panel.

“Bozz. Wake up.”

The Barabel spoke in a restrained voice, but more out of custom than anything else. One taloned hand reached out to grasp what appeared to be a shoulder and shook hard. Mks made a few startled sounds before retching noisily.

“How long have I been sleeping?”

The Barabel gestured a talon angrily, “Doesn’t matter. Need to go now, back to Port.”

A sudden long groan attracted their attention from the entrance of the room. What had appeared to be a pile of sleeping bodies by the door (Zakath had made an effort to avoid it should some humanoid intimacy ritual scar him permanently) quickly split in two, revealing the Elder of the team between two piles of freshly separated coats.

“I’m up, I’m up, stop screaming so loud.”

Zakath released a barely restrained hiss in the Entar’s direction before prodding the dozing Miraluka.

“Bozz.” the Barabels tone changed immediately, “Conzult the Force, we muzt leave.”

Mks slid upward, cradling his head. A quick regulation from the Force and the pounding headache and sluggishness subsided. By the time the Mystic could bear his own weight gingerly on the floor, Strategos was already by the Barabels side, looking worse for wear but more or less alert- alert and suddenly worried, the emotions of his colleagues swirling out into his two-tone vision. As if listening for something, Mks turned his head and paused for a moment before nodding.

“I sense it too. Ready the alarm- the control panel is under those two.”

Zakath didn’t respond but instead rushed to the panel, clearing it with ease and almost gleefully initiating the loudest sequence possible. Strategos picked up two bottles and with an almost gentle application of the Force, began to awaken the sleeping crew. It breathed life into the room and was soon filled by the usual whirring of the Broken Blade. But its Leader did not move. He stayed perfectly still with nothing but dread.

News

We’ve had a fairly busy end to the month with the Gaming Quarter coming to an end and the heroic attempts to grab those tasty double-CFs during the Battlefront Focus: Fighter Squadron Competition. One of our own, Zakath, reached 5th overall with a score of 676.8 Clusters of Fire! But more impressive yet was the sheer amount of work hours he put into earning those clusters, and for that you deserve a huge chunk of respect pie. Though that being said, who knows how long you’ll be dreaming about TIE Fighters?

Arcona also managed to dominate the GMRG scoreboard by having members in the top three, so give your congrats to them! With everyone done spamming Battlefront, the scoreboards for the GMRG settled and six out of the top nine were Arconan! Fighto~!

We also saw our Elder, Strategos, gain an impressive Grand Cross for all his amazing activity and a whopping 31 Crescents from competition placement! Huge pat on the back for setting us a great example.

Our first fictional competition as a Battleteam came to pass with a fantastic entry from Adem! Very well done! An interesting look into member relations! Can’t wait to see more from you in the future. Next time let’s try and get a few more submissions in.

Consul’s Call

Yes! Potential shinies up for grabs with our first RO as a Battleteam. We’ve got action, drama, betrayal and revenge- the perfect opportunity for our characters to shine:

The Shadow Lady has a premonition, with dark and grave consequences on the horizon. In her vision, Port Ol’val seemed marked for destruction- old enemies assembling together with the new, a dark figure with eyes hungry for the Port and those that control it. Concerned, Consul Atyiru issues a command and House Qel-Droma responds with a team focused on the protection of our classified assets as a House and as a Clan, thus Battleteam Styx is born. There is little time to prepare the hastily formed team, for after but a month of training they were called to act. A suspected whistleblower is thought to be releasing information to the scattered members of the former crime Triumvirate of Port Ol’val. The objective is simple: Find access into the heavily guarded location, secure the information leak and begin witness management. But not all is at it seems and very quickly is the team tested of its true abilities.

We're aiming for a February release and plan to release it over the course of the month. I feel we're ready to get moving but don't want to shove too much onto your plate (real life can be a pain in the hoo-ha) so the RO itself will be broken down into two sections of two weeks apiece.

Really excited to get it started and can’t wait to write with all of you!

Comments from the BTL and BTS

And so, another year begins! Resolutions aside (I’m sure we're all going to look like athletes in the summer and quit smoking) [Note from Zakath: Screw that. Summer is when I start smoking cigars!] I hope we're all prepared for a good year!

Lets start off by celebrating our own; Zakath and Strategos! They have each gone above and beyond in the their achievements so give them both a big pat on the back. Zakath placed in the top ten and got himself a lovely wrist-mounted dart shooter! He worked really hard to achieve what he did and I’m very proud of him. Very well done! Strategos earned a Grand Cross for the mammoth amount of activity in the past half year- 31 Crescents and 1100 Clusters of Fire! You’re doing absolutely fabulously, sweety darling.

We have three new recruits in the Battleteam. Kids, make nice and welcome R41D-3R and Jax and Vixur Ren! Welcome to the dark, shadowy family!

Another matter I want to attend to this month is the Wiki page. The BT has been without one long enough and we have the bare bones put together in a Gdoc just waiting to be shared. I’d like to see a few of you contribute and leave your mark on our origins. Just shoot me a mail or hit me up on Telegram so I can send you the link. We’ll need a variety of skills, from writing to graphics to really get it looking great and giving us a good start towards the future.

Also, the reports may look a little bare for the moment, but we’ll hopefully have some headers and dividers to jazz it up a bit. Leave a comment if there’s anything you’d like to see in future reports too!

My friends, it’s a new year and we got exciting stuff planned for y’all! First off, let me congratulate you all for your activity and shinies earned over the past month! All were well earned, and I, along with Mks, am very proud of you guys, and we look forward to seeing more of the same- or exceeding it! here in 2016!

As Mks noted above, we got plans for an RO come February, and may I say I’m excited for it? Doing ROs is one of my favorite activities because it lets me interact with other members’ characters in fiction, as opposed to writing them all on my own, really helps me to get a feel for y’all. Very fun stuff!

Anyways, if y’all haven’t done so yet, I highly encourage you to check out the Civil War competitions, show off your humor and participation skills, and above all else: have fun!
