Well, hey everyone. Let’s get this bit done so we can get to work shall we?

1. Who

I’ve been around for quite some time now, 20 years and 3 months. Let’s say, I’ve spent more of my life in the club than I’ve spent outside of it.

As we’ve got over 2 decades to get through, let’s be brief. I started out in Arcona (or so fragmented records of the time claim). Quickly fell rogue. Rejoined two years later and got into CSP where after awhile I became Rollmaster. Then I moved to Plagueis where I became Aedile and later Quaestor of House Exar Kun. From there back to CSP to be Proconsul. Then Consul, Quaestor of HSP once we all got declanned. Passed the leadership of HSP to my AED (the current VOICE) after awhile and focused on the Shadow Academy while I moved to Arcona. In the SA, I’ve held every possible position except Headmaster. Helping with various projects over time. These days I’m serving as Right Hand of Justice in the Chamber of Justice. Oh and I’ve just been appointed your Quaestor too.

Outside of the club, I’m a civil servant working in IT and quality assurance for the Belgian government. By education, I’m an archaeologist, historian, linguist, software quality engineer, documents/data manager, and archivist.

2. What

What will we be doing? Well, having fun for one. Competitions, ways to include you lot into the storyline of the unit, Roleplaying, fixing up our bit of the DJBWiki (no worries, more to come), and much more. But more fictionally:

a. Look into the future…

Sometime after dark

The House had gathered in the mess hall. A strange massive flag hung over a makeshift podium.

Faces turned to look around searchingly as trumpets began to ring out. Where was that noise coming from?

A large tree marched into view onto the stage, with a quick turn, the being, wearing a strange helmet, faced the crowd and began to speak:

“House Galeres is the martial house of Arcona. We’re the military side of things people, the ones who hold the line and protect the Clan! We’re the tip of the spear, the protectors of the Shadow Clan, the …. Anyway you get the idea… As you may have noticed, we’re coming out of an absolute shitload of conflicts and moving into a period of peace and consolidation. The diplomats managed to end the Godhunt peacefully so we’re not about to be stabbed in the back by the people we’re meant to protect! Dajorra is at peace! …. You may cheer now…”

<silence>

Someone coughs and is immediately shushed by the person next to them.

<silence>

“Alright then,” the Neti continued as he soldiered on (heh) leaving in strategic pauses and places for applause as he went, despite the silent crowd, “The conflict with the Children of Mortis seems to have ended, even though I’m not quite sure what happened at the end there… Anyways, they may return or not. But it’ll be awhile I wager!”

“The Collective seems to have buggered off. That pesky Severian Principate vs. The Tenixir Revenants conflict seems to have temporarily cooled down into a cold war as well… Maybe they’re scared of us? I mean there were weird crystal things, witchy ladies, blood, and I did blow up that casino somewhat too…”

“Anyway, since the big issues seem to be resolved for now. We can get to work with taking stock of our current status, find ways to improve the military might of the Clan and work towards being even more efficient a fighting force for future conflicts! Don’t worry proud Arconan warriors, peace is just the bit of time where you reload your weapons! Dismissed!”

<Cheers ring out>

As the mess hall erupted into cheers, the old Jedi looked relieved the speech had worked. Now there’s got to be an office connected to this job right? Time to go plan out for the future.

3. First up, the urgent bit: I need an Aedile don’t I?

4. Second, as you may have noticed, we’re a military house just entering peacetime. Trust me, we’ll have fun with it!

Keep on the lookout for stuff in the immediate future, as I go over the state of the House and begin making plans. I’m thinking small bite size fiction updates on the weekly with linked competitions to let you guys help guide our course.
