Regent Report #1: It Has Begun

Hello everyone! This is my first report as Regent and it's a bit delayed since my appointment. Unfortunate. However, I can hardly be held accountable! I shall immediately be putting into practice the long standing political tradition of shifting the blame. It is the fault of whomsoever hosted a Great Jedi War immediately after appointing me. That would be the Grand Master. Hey look, transitive property! It's Mav's fault. Understandably so, being the Worst and all.

Now, with that out of the way, here's a quick foreword and synopsis of what you'll find herein. I'm really excited and grateful for the opportunity I've been given. Having worked in and/or around the Voice office for so long, I had always thought that would be my eventual end goal. The seat upon which I park. Things, obviously, did not go in that direction. People change. I change. And so I took a risk and went for something different. I have a fair bit of history with the Possessions system I now find myself in charge of. I was the acting Praetor under Evant when we finally stitched this lumbering monster together and set it upon the torch and pitchfork armed masses. Since then I've worked to implement systems around the Possessions concept, integrating with it, and working on aspects. I've been a constant thorn in Evant's side and I still am. There's a lot of buttons and options I now have access to and it's so...unfortunate that the entirety of our wealth is now under my oversight.

So, I'll make this report a fair starting point! I'm gonna do a quick break down of what we have on the go in the Regent-related sphere of consciousness and what I hope to have on the go in the future.

Current and Future Projects

Current - Upgrades

This is a biggy and one that was already in a good place before the reigns of power transferred. I, personally, have some documentation to review once I'm out of the Great Jedi War grading trenches to see exactly where we currently stand and where we wanna be. If possible, it would be beneficial to have a soft launch for this so both staff and the membership can get a sense of how it works. That way we can course correct without too many issues if needed. I have my own ideas for how to implement this but I won't let that get in the way of a good time. Got a very knowledgeable team working under me currently and I intend to leverage that.

Current - Solo and Resistance

We will be looking to review our current offerings and the recent asset dump we received from the Herald's office to see where we can expand our items. There are many items in the system now that aren't yet publically available for one reason or another. Those will need to be reviewed to identify a) what's up with them and b) what all is missing or can be added.

I know there's these fancy up-to-date X-wings that were shown off in that Resistance show. Might be cool to add those...I guess...if you insist.

Keep an eye out for this one! It'll probably come earlier than Upgrades if I'm being honest.

Future - Clan Expansion

Clans of the Brotherhood! Let me just say, we want to give you some love. Many of the content updates so far have been rather member focused. Which it should be. Members are (and forever will be) the very lifeblood of the Brotherhood. This club would quite literally not be here without them. That said, members also invest in their homes. So, what exactly would a clan expansion look like within Possessions?

Well, first you need to construct additional pylons. Then, assuming one has enough vespene gas, clans can then construct installations! We're talking turrets, shield arrays, barracks, etc. Basically, we don't know what the exact form will be for this, but we're looking to put a bit more base building into the system beyond just fleet and army building.

Future - Staff Rotation

One of the things that I've found to be beneficial (and put forth in my application) is staff terms. This is similar to the current Fist office. This is a great policy to have in place because it allows for more members to not only get staff related experience, but they get to see behind the curtain and become ever more comfortable with our systems. But there's a risk here. The Regent staff in particular have a project-based load that requires a certain level of pre-existing familiarity. With that in mind, I'll be looking to select a permanent Praetor that will stand apart from the rotation cycle and I will not prevent sitting staff members from reapplying for the job.

This will ensure that we always have a good knowledge base to work from, and make sure that we have enough interested and trained parties in the member base to keep this position going beyond myself, when that time eventually comes.

Future - The Rise of Skywalker

What is this? The final Skywalker episodic release and so many items and creatures that myself and my staff have already started drooling over. In before explosive arrows!
