Intel: Brotherhood Wide - Let’s beat each other with sticks!
The biggest news in the Brotherhood at the moment is the Antei Combat Center (ACC) Open Beta. Many of you are aware that the ACC has been closed for around a year as it has been getting revamped. For those of you who don’t remember when the ACC was open, it was a fiction-based combat system for qualified members of the club to do battle with. Each member has a Character Sheet, which is a focused sheet of information and skill levels for opponents to use to realistically write characters. Battles could range from TIE Fighter shoot outs to violent incursions on any of the multitude of planet venues. I personally have always extremely enjoyed ACC Battles so having it return is a major plus for the club in my eyes.

So what does this mean for you? You should get qualified! The ACC is going to be a part of both the Dark Crusade Epilogue and the coming Great Jedi War in the summer. As well, the unit with the highest percentage of qualified members gets to have their own venue when the ACC official opens. While the ACC can seem daunting it is definitely not as hard as it looks at first glance and is a lot of fun.

To qualify you need to have an approved Character Sheet (CS) this is done through the admin menu of the site. Even if you aren’t interested in the ACC (and there is no reason to not be interested in it!) a CS is a very good thing to have done, as it helps everyone get a better grasp of your character. Much like how you need to have a sheet to play other RP games it is something that can be updated with each new rank and character progression. After having an approved CS you need to make your way to the Shadow Academy and pass the two exams in the Combat Writing hall. These are well done exams that will teach you all you need to know to be ready to write in the ACC. If you happen to fail one your first time around, there is nothing to worry about. ACC Posts and styles can be a bit difficult to get your head around. If you have trouble with these exams, and in particular questions dealing with you writing ACC posts, I am more than happy to help you work on them and help clarify areas that can be improved. It is not uncommon for people to not completely grasp how the posts work their first go around. So don’t get discouraged by it.

At the moment we have 3 people qualified in the house to participate in the ACC and ACC Beta. That is myself, Archangel, and Evant. I really hope to see even more people get qualified for the ACC. I know we had a LOT more qualified people on the old system so go get at it. If you do go and get qualified please feel free to drop me a challenge. Challenges during the beta phase can all be made on the staging site. I will be accepting any and all challenges. I’m far from the best ACCer around but I do very much love participating in it. As an added bonus, during the beta phase you will earn DOUBLE Clusters of Ice. CIs are given out for ACC participation and Runon Posts. Sarin has also announced that they will be playing a factor in the upcoming Fiction Society!

Finally, there is a sign up for the beta open tournament for all qualified ACCers. This tournament will begin this coming Saturday so if you want in, please get qualified this week. Both exams don’t take all that long to finish once you get into them. As I mentioned earlier, I am also more than willing to help you with anything you don’t understand on them. This tournament will be giving out 1st level crescents as well as the standard CIs awarded for ACC battles so get in on the action and benefit of it all. The Voice staff really need as many beta testers as possible so get started with the practice now!

Intel: The Imperial News Net - House Movements
Following the new AWOL policy, we once again had another AWOL check for the club. For those of you unaware, when these more frequent checks are run, anyone who has not logged into the site in the last 30 days gets a 1 week warning to log on or be sent to the rogues. This round saw us lose 3 Journeymen. However, we’ve had 3 new members join our ranks. Please join me in welcoming falconx, Sayd Malaki, and Eldan to the House! We are very excited to have you here.

Also because I know he loves the attention, Thran Occasus has decided to return to us from the rogues! Be sure to keep your ficuses (fici?) locked up. Thran will find them otherwise.

Intel: The Imperial News Net - Armed Forces Updates
So you guys are aware, we have made our purchases for our Armed Forces based on the points we earned from through out last year’s Dark Crusade. With our available points we purchased 2 Acclaimator Assault Ships (which Dante has wanted for ages), 8 VT-49 Decimators, 2 Squads of TIE Interceptors, 10 Companys of Infantry, 10 Platoons of Scouts, 5 Companies of Heavy Troopers, 5 Platoons of Engineers, 5 Platoons of Medics, 16 Squads of Snipers, and 12 Squads of Special Forces. We also got several AT-AAs, AT-XTs, Speeder Bikes, All Terrain Attack Pods, LAAT/cs, and Dropships. Quite a mouthful there. You can look below for information on a competition about naming our new big ships as well.

Intel: Imperial News Net - Competition Information
Holy Activity Batman, look at these wonderful competitions you can be working on!
Knife in the Dark: One of two currently running assassination competitions by Shadow Nighthunter. This one involves you coming up with an NPC in the house structure (could be a wayward Senator, News Reporter, etc), who has either found out about who we really are (Dark Jedi) or already knew and decided to leak the info. Obviously this poses a major risk to the House and our control of the System so you need to take them out.
Assassination Fun: The second of Shadow’s two assassination competitions, this one instead focuses on choosing another member of the house to take out. Lots of possibility for some crazy antics and interesting systems of assassination. Go wild with it.
Naming the Fleet: Archangel has put together this competition. The Dark Crusade like every major DJB wide vendetta event awarded fleet points* to each unit. We just recently finished making our purchases which includes 2 Acclaimator Assault Ships and 8 VT-49 Decimators. These ships need names. Submit a list of names and the best list wins. This competition has the potential for one of your suggestions to forever be linked to one of our Fleet Ships. I do recommend taking a look at the wikipedia pages on our Fleet to make sure you don’t suggest a name already given to one of our other ships.
Return of Scholae’s Infamous Son: As I mentioned before Thran Occasus has returned to the house. For those of you who don’t know Thran, he was a former Consul and is one of the Sons of Palpatine for the house. He also has quite a reputation for parties, crazy antics, and being the definition of a egotistical diva (he is a holovid star after all). This competition is a comedic fiction event so go as wild as you want with it.
New Year’s Nightmare: This is a horror poetry event. I’m tired of seeing poetry that is either about heroic achievements or flowery romance. Make this as gruesome as possible.
Voice: Hunting a Killer: In the recent Voice fiction update, our lovely Herald Orv, was brutally murdered. This competition ends in just a few days so if you are planning on participating in it you should get to work quickly. You need to track down who was responsible for Orv’s death and the truth of what happened.
There are also several other DJB wide competitions being run by various members of other units so please go take a look at them here.

Okay I don’t want to become too long winded here. I hope you all go get qualified in the ACC so I can get a bunch of challenges there. I also hope you all check out these running competitions cause they should all be quite fun to work on. In the next few weeks you can expect to see the return of regular trivia events as well. I am planning on running them through the site and not on IRC so you all will have a fair chance to win.

As for the Looking Home Campaign, next we will be heading to Antenora, where an issue with the local tribes has gotten out of hand and it is up to you to help set it right.

Until next time,

For the Empire!
