The Fiction is a Lie (Are You Gonna Make Biscuits?)

K’tana raced into her office. She could almost taste the feen fruit pastry she had been promised if she showed up on time. A perfect balance of the feen’s sweetness and the soft, flakey pastry combined with the tangy glaze drizzled over the dessert. The Mystic shivered with anticipation as she opened the door.

Three minutes early.

The Twi’lek beamed with joy as she saw Timeros standing in front of her desk, his hands concealing something behind his back.

“Apprentice. You’re early. Good.” An unfamiliar glint in his eyes caused K’tana to be cautious as she approached.

“Mastimeros,” the violet woman took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart and shaky voice, “you have something for me?”

The Elder nodded once and a brief twitch of the muscles pulled at the corners of his mouth. He promptly turned his back to her, moving his hands to keep them out of view, and turned again to face her.

In his hands was a stack of books.

“What the kark?” she whined angrily. “You promised me Feen Cake!”

“K’tana,” his even tone betrayed no sense of amusement as he moved across the room and placed the books in her arms, “your duty comes first.”

As Timeros coolly left the room, K’tana began to shriek, throwing books at the door in a pique.

“THE CAKE WAS A LIE!” she screamed as she dropped to the floor and wailed into the carpet.

Introduction- The Things S/He Do.

My dearest Gatekeepers, this month has been a maelstrom of batshit-crazyness. Thus, the five-minute fiction! Your BTL has been highly distracted and anxious due to her upcoming LOA and unable to write anything even semi-serious. (Maxi, I owe you a fiction <3)

Anyway, from settling with our new Paths, to new Rules in #DB, to me constantly trying to get in “trouble” by testing how far I can push before getting in trouble ...we may have had a severe lull. Actually, aside from a couple steadily active members...we seem to have hit a wall.

I have one thing to say about this.

It’s totes okay.

I’ve seen a lot of reports that ream people out and “We need to pick up the pace! I’ll throw out a bajillion more things for you to not do!”...They don’t realized one thing:

Yeah, no. I’m not going to do that. Instead! I’m going to find a cool phone app game and a flash comp soon and put them up for you to do or ignore at your leisure.:D I’m not going to guilt trip you or choke you with my massive hype. (ha)

There is only ONE thing I WANT any of you to do... and that’s have fun playing in the Run-On. Everything else right now is just practice and play for the Metagames and War for whenever they’re ready. Deal with your real lives first, then come to the DB and have fun!. The whole point of this group, in my mind, is to spend time with friends, write/game/bitch together and have fun.

Do not forget that... and don’t let me forget it either. We’re a team, and that means looking out for each other. Always.

I have decided to establish a couple of ground rules within The Telegram group. They’re easy to follow and won’t stifle you from being the weirdos you are.

Rule One: No politics(DB or otherwise) or religion is to be discussed in group. Feel free to hit up anyone via PM, but the group is not to discuss it. They are topics that can become too heated very rapidly and I will not tolerate my favorite friends fighting.
Rule Two: No fighting! Be nice(ish) to one another. Integrity, Love and Unity must be the forefront of Shadow Gate. Along with Badassdom. (Yes, Tim/Guido/Revs...This means you snarky darlings.)
Rule Three: No pr0n. I shouldn’t need to say this. Obviously I’m a lot less strict about certain stickers than other groups. I find them amusing as I don’t find human anatomy offensive and we’re all over the age of 18. So the Boob Smack! Sticker is still okay :p But anything above that will get you a warning. And should a 12 year old join Shadow Gate...May the Goddess have mercy on their to-be-ruined souls.
Rule Four: Not so much a rule as a helper to keep things civil and happy. When Big Mama Twi’lek yells “BUTTERFLY!”, you’re breaking, or close to breaking, a rule and it must stop. Immediately. Please don’t make me act like an adult. I hate it.

We should all know by now how much I love testing rules. So, I would think, when I make a rule, there is good reason for it and I feel they’re not going to cause more turmoil than they correct.

Big Daddy Pravus(who totally promised me a potted sarlacc pit) gave us bad kids some new rules concerning #Db (Telegram, cuz...like, who the kark even IRC’s anymore? Old people. That’s who. OUT WITH WITH OLD! IN WITH THE MASS STICKERS AND FOOD PR0N -cough- I mean...Behave yourselves. Do as I say, not as I do ;p). Paths have settled into their Red, Grey/Gray(whatever, I don’t /can’t/won’t even) and Blue color schemes and fanatical dogma. Badass mini Boba Fett’s will be runnin’ around soon with the Merc groups and...and someone needs to go look up wtf a Loyalist is, who they’re Loyal to and the like...because I don’t know...TO THE WIKI PAGE!

In Closing

My beloved Shadowy Badasses, I will be leaving you in Revs’ care for the week of September 16th to the 24th.
