Hello there,

Another month, another report. This report will include guild progress so far, new things I’ve learned on 7.0 release, SWTOR community highlights, an update on guild officers, and the rest of the usual updates and featured competitions. With that said, let’s get right into it!

Guild Progress

It’s been 4 months since I took over the T:SWTOR position so I’d like to give you all an update on how things are going with the guild. The short answer is that we went from a dead guild to an alive one full of energy. As a guild we are hitting the targets that I laid out in my master plan that I presented in my first report and we are playing more together. More specifically, we are making good progress on forming our initial SWTOR network (step 1) and starting to push into the realm of scaling up our group parties past 4 people (step 2). This makes me a very happy T:SWTOR. I’ve included some major ways the guild has improved below:

  • The total number of unique participants contributing to the guild has gone up a lot. Taking a best guess at the data around November 2021 and comparing it to now, we’ve gone from 6 unique participants to 27 unique participants. Everyone isn’t on at once but it's great to see more people helping us hit conquest.

  • We’ve gone from no discernible group play to having semi-regular 4-man conquest runs. As an added bonus we’ve also run at least 1 full team group flashpoint and several 3-man flashpoints. We’ve even done a few Galactic starfighter pvp matches. :) We’ve already run at least 12 official group gaming sessions and who knows how many unofficial.

  • Occasionally, we’ve started pulling 5-man groups. This is a great bonus because the more people we can pull in the closer we get to doing bigger team-based events that often require at least 8 people. This is a step 2 goal but its nice to see us starting to push into scaling past 4-man groups.

  • We’ve gone back to sharing encryptions back to the guild bank. Around November 2021 we had ~92 encryptions. Now we have 327 encryptions. This is great not only because we are finally making progress unlocking parts of our guild ship but it means that as a guild more of us are not only making conquest but also sharing some of the fruits of that reward back to the guild. As part of the fruits of that labor, on November 21 we were a level 87 guild and now we are a level 113 guild!

  • We’ve re-established basic guild operations, such as conquests being set and guild perks assigned. Every week without fail these are set so your time and energy into the guild is rewarded. Even better, these are medium size conquests of 2 million points, so we are a medium conquest guild!

  • Conquest Raffles are awarded for each conquest week. You’ve seen some of the awards your fellow guildmates have chosen and some have even agreed to let me show them off in my reports!

  • Training sessions are provided to guild members that request help.

So taking this all in, we’ve made some great strides as a guild since November 2021. Moving forward, we are on track to get 4-man groups more regular and to start scaling up our group sizes. We still aren’t at the stage of full-scale recruiting yet but for now, feel free to recruit at your leisure.

That said, some things that could use some improvement:

  • The SWTOR News Feed on discord has a lot of great info on it but not everyone is in the thread yet. I’d love to see all our SWTOR players in the SWTOR News Feed thread.

  • As you may have noticed, we’ve moved to hosting Discord events for our SWTOR group gatherings. I’d love to see more people make time for them. Getting people together and picking a time is hard. Real-life comes first. But that doesn’t mean we can’t try to set aside some time if we have enough of a heads up. (If our hosted events are at times you can never make, let us know!) The more people we have to join the more quickly we can move to larger group content like world bosses and 8-man teams. I know many of you have expressed well wishes for the guild and for its success. If you haven’t already, its time to put actions to those words. And for those of you that already do make time for the guild, you are the best and you are very much appreciated.

SWTOR 7.0 ‘Disorder’ Expansion: New things I’ve learned

I’ve decided to continue this section, highlight new things I’ve learned about the 7.0 release in the hopes it helps you while playing the game. A list is below:

  • Login benefits are really nice: Seriously like really nice. You get conquest tokens (which give you instant conquest on a toon), rare crafting materials, and objects that drop tech fragments so you can buy upgrades. Did I mention the conquest tokens?

  • Galactic Seasons 2: It’s seriously worth doing, especially if you are subscribed. Free cartel coins, another max-level NPC, cool gear, and it introduces you to do activities that you might not have ever done before.

  • Itemization revamps: This refers to the new gearing system. I’ve played around a good bit with this now and for most of you one thing will jump out at you immediately. You will always be running out of something called ‘Aquatic Resource Matrix’. For non-PvPers, you need these to improve your gear rating. As an example I have all the ‘Medal of Commendation’ I need but what is stopping me from buying 322 gear for all slots is the lack of ‘Aquatic Resource Matrix’. It takes 60 of them to buy one piece. The bright side is that I can just buy the one I want instead of spinning the wheel of RNGseus. Need more of them? Do weekly planet conquests and if there is a call for world bosses, join one! There is a handy guide covering all the gear stuff in detail now. I’ve posted a picture from that below to show you all just how high you can go and the different tracks you can do to get there.

ItemRevamp

  • Legendary Items: While this is still true, I have some additional insights from my playing experience so far. Once you hit level 80, you get to speak to a guy on the fleet and acquire a mission to tune his device, which is a mission that grants you points for playing the game. Once you do that, he’ll let you guy special upgrades from his droid, which are the legendary items. The ones offered to you apply specifically to your type of class and you can pick from a good variety. For example, when I did this with my vanguard I had some options that spread across all varieties of the vanguard. It gives you a bonus effect and you can have up to 2 of them. Save up those aquatic resource matrices though! Lastly, the most efficient way to finish the mission to be able to buy these is to start if on a toon that hasn’t hit conquest yet and throw in some unranked pvp matches. You have to hit 100 points and a lost or won pvp match gives you 10. Conquest met gives you 34. They add up quickly. There are other ways but that’s my advice.

  • Currency drops you need to upgrade gear only start dropping more regularly once you are level 80 so get to level 80 first!

  • Old toon move rotations (order of buttons you click), still mostly seem to work. So if you don’t know what buttons to use, it's okay to use an old 6.0 guide as a base! You can make minor edits from there and the bones are still probably solid. 6.0 guides can be found here.

If you have something to add to this list that helps the group, reach out to me and I’ll add it! Finally, I have some new 7.0 competitions out for you all to play with!

New Guild Officers

Last report I put out a call for Guild officers to help run group gatherings. I’m happy to say that Korvis, Ric Palpatater, and Tahiri Thorn Morte Tarentae have volunteered and you will have already seen some of them run hosted SWTOR group events! I particularly wanted to give a shoutout to Tahiri for the sheer number of the group events she has volunteered to host. I love to see that sort of energy and it is highly appreciated.

Now that we have guild officers, if you play SWTOR and want help finding a group to play with, come join our hosted SWTOR events, or feel free to chat with me or my guild officers above to arrange a time where you can play. We’d be happy to play SWTOR with you.

Lastly, if you are interested in being a future guild officer one day, feel free to email me or dm me on discord.

Current Guild Targets

Every Tuesday, I set the guild conquests for the week. When the guild conquest is achieved, you get to choose a reward in addition to your personal conquest. When that time comes, please choose the ‘Flagship Plans: Command Encryption’. I am currently collecting them to unlock the Forward Command Room. This request applies to both the official imperial guild and the unofficial republic guild. Once we have collected 250 of them, we can unlock some added guild benefits.

If you don’t know how to do this yet, here are some screenshots to help you out. Press ‘I’ and then click on the materials tab on the left tab. It will look like a diamond.

div

Then scroll down to ‘Miscellaneous items’ and you will see ‘Flagship Plans: Command Encryption’. You can drag them to your main inventory.

div

Finally, go to the purple guild bank (we have one on the guild flagship and there is always the one on the fleet), and deposit them in the ‘Missions/Mods’ tab. If you can’t access the guild bank, let me know.

div

Hope this helps! Lastly, if you have lots of spare credits on hand and nowhere to put them, donations to the guild are always welcome.

Conquest Raffle Prize Spotlight

For those that achieve 100K conquest points for a week for the guild, you get up to 3 entries in a raffle to win a prize that you can pick from the guild bank. It is my pleasure to share some of the awards handed out so far. :)

Aleister Mavros in their “Imperial Practice Jersey”.

I’ll spotlight some more next report but when you pick out a reward if you want yours to be spotlighted just send me a picture of you using it!

That said, here are our SWTOR Raffle winners so far!

  • 02/22/22: Solas Night-thorn
  • 03/01/22: Bentre Sadow
  • 03/08/22: Ric Palpatater

A huge congrats to each and every one of you. I really appreciate the time and effort you’ve put into the guild so far. Well done!

SWTOR Resources

I’d like to spotlight our discord SWTOR News Feed. It’s a thread we have set up under gaming chat where you can find and share SWTOR news with each other. Many of you have already done so and we have a nice batch of information already as it pertains to the new SWTOR expansion, tips to get ready for it, class guides for optimal builds, etc… If you are interested in SWTOR and haven’t joined the thread yet, I highly encourage that you do so. If you know someone who likes SWTOR and hasn’t joined it yet, share with them the thread so they can join as well.

Last Thoughts

SWTOR group gatherings are happening each week at various times as hosted events on the discord server. Come and join us! The shenanigans are priceless and will stick with you for a very long time as bright spots in the game. Also, feel free to send me group gaming shots. I’d love to use them in my reports. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to email or dm me on discord. Happy gaming!

Nice report!

Is the raffle just for the imp side or both?

A couple things I wanted to ask:

  1. Can you give us more details on a few things. How are we going to grow the guild in the long run? More activity is great to see, but given our relatively small size as a club, I assume we need more bodies playing more actively to do things like Operations as an example. I hope that you will give us a more detailed bit on how you plan to grow our numbers so we can effectively scale up to working harder/tactically-involved content.

  2. If we start recruiting folks outside of the club, have you considered re: Discord to get them into chat? Our Discord is currently pivoted towards our membership, new and existing, so wouldn't that leave our non-club Guild members out in the cold.

@Rhys the only official guild is the Imp side guild, so the raffle discussed above should only be for the Imp side.

Bentre,

  1. The details for that part of the plan are still being formulated to be honest. I know how SWTOR guilds usually recruit. They sit around in general chat on a planet and scoop up players or pull them into existing raids and chuck them some shinies/help and suggest they join the guild. Problem with us is that approach won't be enough for us. There is a very high chance that people who only play SWTOR only want to play SWTOR. I mean no strings attached. No paperwork. No website with homework. None of it. So not only do we need to find SWTOR players but ones that want to also do our very club-specific DB stuff. This second bit is the harder part. If you want to brainstorm with me, feel free to give me a dm. As to things we could do that already exist, sure those work to start but the part of pulling people into raids we can't do until we have enough people to raid. And we have the people. We just need to get them online.

  2. The idea would be to pull them into Discord but worth verifying if guests have rights to our swtor thread and voice channels. I know I already pulled in one swtor player and we hung out in voice chat though.

Hope that answers your questions.
