The small rocks crunched under his armored boots as the young Battlemaster stepped into the large mining cavern that was now the entrance to his Battle Teams new headquarters. He had always had an inclination for grandeur and had added some cosmetic details to the design of the headquarter which had begun construction under his predecessor, Shadow Nighthunter.

“You really outdid yourself this time.” Said the blue haired women behind him as she stared at two large and looming statues.

Two massive cloaked figures stood, flanking the large staircase leading to the interior of the base. Both stood nearly 35 feet, reaching the tips of the stalactites hanging from the ceiling, and carried two large sabers in a downward position in front of them.

“Just because we live like peasants on missions, doesn’t mean we can’t live in luxury here.” Derek said as he began stepping up the stone stairs. It was smooth yet maintained the certain ruggedness you’d expect from something carved out of a cave wall.

They both turned to the sound of footsteps. A well-built Mandalorian followed closely behind by a young Pantoran boy appeared from the cave mouth. Derek recognized him as Kylex’s new apprentice.

“Kylex!” Derek exclaimed with his arms outstretched. “I hope you’ve been well?”

“Well enough with you bothering me constantly,” Kylex said with a slight smirk before turning to Katyusha. “What have you been getting up to Kat?”

“Staying away from a certain insane Mandalorian.” She replied while eyeing him intensely.

“No office relationships here guys.” Derek interjected while holding in a fit of laughter.

Kylex turned to the young green-eyed boy and said softly, “I’ve heard you’ve been eyeing Alara’s new apprentice, she can’t seem to stop trying to get assignments with you.”

Derek blushed a deep red and turned changing the topic suddenly. “Let's get inside I’ll show you around, the rest of the team is already waiting.”

The group entered into the hallway. The durasteel floor was spotless and the bright white lights blinded them for a second before the eyes adjusted. They entered a round chamber where Ras, Luceyth, and Angel were waiting patiently. The polished dark stone floor was a stunning contrast to the rocky and somewhat jagged floor of the cavern entrance.

“You know Shadow would never approve such lavishness right?” Ras said with an eyebrow raised.

“Shadow is off doing bigger and better things, She doesn’t need more to worry about,” Derek replied as he placed his helmet on the ground next to the well lit glass art centerpiece. “The doors you see lead to the living quarters fully customizable to your specifications, our troop barracks, hangers for our team and personal ships, intelligence and data centers, and training rooms.”

“Impressive.” Kadrol said smiling “What are the security features?”

“Besides the garrison here, we have full spectrum security. Anyone not registered with the system will be identified 5 miles out. We have security droids positioned at the entrance as well as many in reserve.” Derek answered. “We’ll get into the specifics later, enjoy yourselves, explore, move in, we’ve got to get a handle on local matters soon so stand by for assignments.”

The team dispersed talking amongst themselves. Derek sighed sluggishly, Though he had experience at this point, he was still feeling the pressures of the position weighing on him.

“You can’t do it alone,” Ras said as she combed her fingers through her brown hair. “Shadow didn’t and neither should you.”

“The expectations are still there, any failure is my failure.” Cinn responded slightly surprised yet relieved to hear her still there.

“But your failures are ours, Kylex is your sergeant and I’m one of the most experienced here. Use us, Talk to us, It helps.” The warlord said comfortingly. While she knew he was capable, he was still just a boy.

Derek looked up as she placed her hand softly on his shoulder. He looked up at her stern face but her eyes betrayed a sense of understanding and softness. He smiled and took another deep breath and motioned her towards the planning room. “we have a lot to talk about, Get Kylex in here.”

INTRO

Welcome everyone to the month of May!!! Lots of cool stuff coming as usual in terms of fictional updates, competitions, and opportunities. I arrived back in Texas last night so my availability has been opened up SIGNIFICANTLY.

I want to also point some of you towards the ACC. It’s a really cool activity in the DJB. It can be difficult though and I haven't won a match ever but it’s still a VERY enjoyable experience and helps get in tune with your writing style and maybe learn something. The judges are honest and open, so be ready for that.

As for TA, our new home is essentially done and we have moved in fictionally and I will work on updating this in the next few days. I’m planning on running some competitions based around our new home in the month of June and will be run by Kylex until I return.

NEWS

So we have begun a story arc that is major for our Clan. the choice is yours on whether or not we strengthen our relationship with Clan Taldryan. It’s a fascinating idea and essentially the inner will decide how it goes. The competition is here

Also, Congrats to Mako for His recognition as a Dark Paladin. The member with the highest general activity level will be awarded this every 3 months by the Palpatine's so keep that in mind. :) This is essentially a step below the title of Palpatine so it's kind of a big deal. While It's not something I would put on a resume, It's definitely something noteworthy as a member of CSP.

Our previous Justicar, Jac, was an outstanding person for the position, his background and professionalism is something that made him one of the best in my eyes. The Justicar position is vital in keeping the DJB a fair and successful organization, without it we would crumble. That's a lot of responsibility on that position and I have full faith that Bubba will do great things and continue the tradition of professional and fairness often attributed to that position.

AWARDS

Finding yourself short on credits??? Do some comps. You have no idea how many comps I see and I’m the only one who has submitted. Obviously, the submission has to have some degree of quality but it's almost a guaranteed award, especially for the unit-level comps.

Again, the submission has to have some semblance of effort and quality. There was one where I was the only entry but got second because I rushed it last minute and submitted it with a minute left. Not my proudest moment.

COMPETITIONS

I know times are tough and exams and school are starting to really get hectic this time of year but whether it by 10 or 20 minutes out of the day, throw a submission into a comp or two. Especially, Clan, House, and BT level ones. You’ll have a better chance of placing. It can be hard to find time but do your best. The success of the not only our team but the DJB as a whole is dependent on the participation of its members and their ability to contribute.

• Attack of the Unicorns - A simple gaming competition that took my less than 10 minutes to get to a score I felt competitive with. EASY MONEY

• FIST 2018 Monthly Gaming Challenge 2018 - A cool monthly competition (with multiple sub-competitions) that is held, each placement and submission gets you a certain amount of points. They are all gaming so again, not too. If it's a mobile game, an easy way to submit is screenshot your game on your phone, then use telegram to send it to yourself. Then go to your computer and save it then simply submit like you would anything else.

• Hobby Time! - a straightforward fiction about you character engaging in his hobby. Its DJB wide so great potential for high level crescents :D

• ACE Jervada Asteroid Belt - This is a much longer fiction competition. Do be scared off by the length. All the length means is that you can go more in-depth and detailed than you would otherwise. Start early and add to it throughout the month. Its when you wait to the end and you realize you don’t have time to write such a long fiction. Don’t make that mistake.

• You Have Not Yet Completed Your Training - This is a MUCH shorter fiction but still interesting. Most of us no longer have masters but we can still always learn from them OR you can write one from the perspective of your younger self. It all up to you. Have fun with it. Minimum 500 words so not too difficult.

• TAL+CSP - A Collective Danger - I spoke about this earlier but I’ll put it here anyway.

One last thing on competitions. When you go to the competition page, there is a tab on top that says Long-running/Series. Check in there from time to time cause there's a lot of stuff there that gets overlooked. Usually pretty simple gaming competitions.

FINAL WORDS

Lets all welcome Dante and Jarok. Neither has shown up yet into Telegram but if they do end up joining us at some point. WELCOME! I’d also like to give a big shout out and thank you to Ras and Kylex who have helped me tremendously in not only getting acclimated to this position but giving me extremely valuable feedback on numerous topics during the past month. So a MASSIVE thank you to them.

Recently, the fleet structure is being amended to be more House and BT centric. This way, we will have our own toys to play with in fictions. We'll talk about this more once it becomes official

I apologize if this report is a little late. I always sit down to do it and I’m like I’ll get this done in like an hour but then I have to format it with the stars for the lists and linking the competitions and what not and then I get distracted because the Raiders signed Derrick Johnson since Navarro Bowman wanted too much money. You know, people are sleeping on the Raiders and that is fine by me cause when the Silver and Black are rolling and everyone is kissing our feet, We’ll remind them. They won’t step out of line again. And Jordy over Crabtree ALL DAY.
