Introduction

Good evening Vizsla,

I hope you all are doing well.

As previously announced, today marks the launch of Quest For Fire. Special thanks to Tater to the initial concept, hope you like how we expanded it and included it in the ongoing Damned Damsel campaign. With no further ado, let's begin!

The Lore

Every now and then, a rumour comes up suggesting that there’s a forgotten forge with Vizsla’s name on it…

What if the rumours turned out to be true?

As a Clan with deep Mandalorian roots, a forge would allow Vizla to reconnect with its ancient traditions while also establishing credibility throughout the Mandalorian community. Whispered theories and drunken songs have long tainted the story with claims that “someone” who knows “someone who heard” that it was on such-and-such a planet, or moon, or asteroid.

Once it was claimed to be on Taris sealed in an underground fortification that collapsed during Darth Malak’s bombardment of the planet. Treasure hunters attempted to search the ruins of Mandalore but were never heard from again. Even Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders have searched the demon moon, Dxun, to no benefit or glory.

Yet the story lives on because of the forge’s importance.

Fired over a thousand of years ago during the life of Tarre Vizsla, it is responsible for several of his most notable creations. Most are familiar with his most legendary creation: the Darksaber. However, more importantly to our time, it also is responsible for the creation of Fero's Ba'slanar Codex and Vizsla's Tarre Vizsla Datacron.

It’s clear that if Vizsla wants to control her own destiny, the clan will need to follow up on the most recent rumours. Maybe then it can finally crack the codex without the assistance of Alanna Vhett.

A clue that leads to the world of Ruhnuk, where Vizsla fought the Hidden Chain. Once the battle was over, Clan Vizsla stayed and built at least three settlements there. The forge could be there, hidden from the world, or it could be the next step in the chain to finding it…

Despite his name, Erick Alehands was never meant to spend his life behind a bar.

Born on Concordia, on the edges of the capital city, to a family of foundry workers, Erick had the broad shoulders and stubborn temperament common among Mandalorians. What set him apart were his hands - large, steady, and unusually precise. When he first joined his family in the foundry as an apprentice, the other workers joked that he handled molten metal as delicately as a surgeon. But they had known him as Erick Cadera, a member of a mandalorian clan that had long fallen out of favour with the ruling Saxon and Kryze. As a result, Erick’s opportunities at glory and credits had been limited.

In his youth, Erick eventually slipped away to make a name for himself. Finding opportunity in the Outer Rim with the distant, often fabled, Clan Vizsla of the “Brotherhood.” Allowed to join a number of small expeditions and mercenary ventures, he wasn’t the most famous warrior in the ranks but he was dependable.

Yet, it was his hobby between missions that made him most known throughout the ranks and earned him the nickname “Alehands.” Tinkering with small batches, he would experiment with fermenting in spare cargo containers. Mandalorians are known for many things, but patience with brewing is rarely one of them. However, Erick had it in abundance, creating field-brewed ales that were thick, smoky, and strong enough to wake a sleeping rancor. These ales quickly became popular among warriors returning from long campaigns.

Then came the mission that ended his career as a fighter.

Choose Your Adventure

The event will start with a pledge, Vizsla members will choose between 3 settlements that they commit their character to searching. Those that selected the correct settlement will earn points for their assigned QUA based on their participation during said phase. At the midpoint one of the settlements will be removed and members can choose to change their selection to one of the remaining two settlements to contribute their phase 2 and event long participation to the assigned QUA’s point totals. At the end of the event, the Quaestor with the most points will have dibs on whatever assets are found.

The result of this event will provide Vizsla with the fictional background of how it obtained new clan possessions and which Quaestor is responsible for maintaining the lore surrounding it.

Context:

Vizsla is stuck between a rock and a hard place. For months it has been focused on learning what the Ba’slanar Codex contains. Now, one of our enemies has turned-coat and is offering us access to the Codex but her help comes with the potential for all-out war.

Today, Vizsla attempts to forge its own path, through the event 'Quest For Fire':

• This event is planned for 7 weeks in total with two (2 ) phases and 1 break week
• Each phase lasts 21 day phases
• The break week allows extra time for event long competitions and a mid-event fiction update.
• The container will award the overall scores for the competitions held within.

Scoring:

Each individual will earn one (1) point per event they participate in. Participation is defined as a valid submission for an event. Simply signing up for an event or uploading an unqualified submission will not count. In addition to participation points, the top three individuals in each competition will earn bonus points.

Participation is 1 points per competition participation

• 1st is 3 bonus points
• 2nd is 2 bonus points
• 3rd is 1 bonus point

Most points at the end of the event wins. Ties will be broken by the amount of competitions participated in, followed by the number of top 3 placements.

This is a Vizsla-only event, non-Vizsla will be disqualified from this event. Membership has its privileges.
