Coming September 22nd, is a fresh and new look at the events of the original trilogy. While we are all gearing up for the release of Episode VII, Disney-LucasArts has announced a new set of three novels with new approaches to the events that unfold in the original trilogy. We've got an excerpt and images of the rather awesome covers below.

From The Empire Strikes back comes So You Want to Be a Jedi by Adam Gidwitz

From Return of the Jedi comes Beware the Power of the Dark Side! by Tom Angleberger

These look like very exciting novelizations of the original trilogy for fans old and new.

Tin Man.. British butler... giant gorilla-polar-bear-abominable-snow-man-like creature ... really? Are we still supposed to be in the Star Wars galaxy?

I'll probably enjoy reading them, because I can't help it, and love learning what I can, but from the excerpts I'm not sure I'll end up immersed at all. :p
