The newest Star Wars novel has just been released! The novel, Dark Disciple focuses on the characters of Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos as they team-up on a mission against Count Dooku.

As you can tell from the brief description, this novel takes place during the time of the Clone Wars. The plot itself was originally intended to be a part of the Clone Wars series itself, but as the show ended it was instead made into a novel. As such, this novel is very much in-continuity.

The novel is written by Christine Golden, who was one of the main writers on the Fate of the Jedi series, and has also written a fair number of other sci-fi and fantasy properties such as Star Trek, Warcraft and Starcraft. I have generally found her novels to be a fairly solid read. Nothing spectacular, but has a clear voice that keeps you invested in the plot.
