Steam Machine in Box

Beta testers for Valve's Steam Machines have started receiving their units and are posting pictures of their unboxings.

An uboxing from the Reddit user colbehr can be seen on imgur.

Is anyone else planning on buy a Steam Machine when they become commercially available next year, building your own, or are you happy with your sub par Xbox or PlayStation? (/PC Gamer Bias)

For those that can't wait, SteamOS can be downloaded now (FAQ). As long as you have a modest PC with an NVIDIA you can rig up your own Steam Machine, though they advise only doing it if you're experienced with Linux as it's apparently still a bit rough.

More evidence I should just upgrade my PC and not by a new console..

That's my plan! Can't wait to try playing Jedi Academy with that Steam Controller...

JA with a controller? What kind of monster are you?!

Says the dude who plays TIE with a gamepad.

Halc plays TIE with a gamepad? Halc you've been demoted to Obelisk.

Going to scrap together my old desktop and see how this OS works on my next day off. :P

Unfortunately my spare graphics card is AMD, so I'm going to have to wait for them to support that.
