I received nine excellent applications for Left Hand of Justice. Now, I have opened up applications for a lot of positions over the years, but this time I was beyond surprised at the quality of the applicants and the applications. Every person that applied took the time and effort to delve deep into their backgrounds and their ideas for the Chamber of Justice. The applications were specific in amendments that are needed to the Covenant and were well-reasoned. Each of the candidates has my thanks, and a couple have earned the right to help me with the judicial reform and amendment process, despite the fact they did not get the position.
In the end, there is only one Left Hand of Justice position. After a careful weighting of many factors, I have chosen Sith Battlelord Montresor as the twentieth Left Hand of Justice. Monty had an excellent application that set forth why he wants the position, the steps he will take to ensure the rights of members are upheld, and the areas he thinks we need to improve. He demonstrated his ability and core competencies, and will make an excellent addition to the team.
Thank you again to all of the applicants. You made my decision incredibly difficult, but solidified my belief that the Brotherhood is filled with bright, mature minds and great up-and-coming leaders.

Earlier today the Fierce Enemies Event began in Star Wars Galactic Defense. You are able to win Tarfful as a (Rebel) Champion and have a chance to get Cradossk from Carbonite Recruitment Pods throughout it. One nice change I've noticed from previous events is that you earn a copy of Tarfful each time you progress to the next Tier. This makes earning the Champion alot easier for mere mortals (like me).
Shortly after noticing Fierce Enemies I decided to check Star Wars Commander to see if any Events were starting for it soon as well. I was greeted with a pleasant surprise to find that Roolan's Wrath is starting up in just under a day. I can't tell what the Event Rewards will be yet, but the graphic shows a cool looking Droideka. Maybe we can win one?
As with previous Events for both these games, I've set up Competitions for you all to enjoy. You can find both in the Competition Center, or utilize the links below. Good luck!

Hello Star Wars fans of the DB!
In case you missed it, the season finale of Star Wars Rebels aired on DisneyXD this past Monday (in the US, at least). "Fire Across the Galaxy" was a big episode with several major spoiler moments that effect future Star Wars canon in this Episode 3 to 4 era.
Check out our Rebels Rundown Discourse topic to start diving into things. If you need to catch up, episodes can be streamed via DisneyXD so long as you are subscribed to that channel via cable. Otherwise, I expect the show to appear on Netflix/Blu-Ray sometime this summer.
Season 2 has already been confirmed for Fall 2015 with more episodes than the first season (which had 16).

Hello everyone! This is a quick Herald Office reminder of a couple of things that are very relevant right now. While I and the staff appreciate PMs and emails for various requests, we feel the need to remind everyone that we have specific request forms for various items that you may be wanting to have completed. There is also a new form that I have outlined below.
Warbanners, Lightsabers, and Avatar uploads are accessible via your Admin link on the website when you are logged in.
Other Requests: We have a new form that units should begin using for report header, logo, etc. requests. Staff can answer questions via email of course, but with the influx of new units (and even DC members) needing work, we need to begin tracking them for the same reasons as those above, so that we can make sure they are not only completed but that we know whom did what, when, etc.
If I have contacted you today then I am aware of your non-WB or LS request. If I haven't, then I need you to send your request through the forms. This isn't to say that the staff member you contacted isn't aware, but this is to make sure that nothing is lost and that I too know what we have going on (and remember).
While simple changes are usually simple, I must ask that you still use the request form for simple changes too. We track every single request and this helps us out, makes sure your request is completed, that we know what kind of queue we have and that our staff is assigned and receive credit for work that is done.
Thanks for your understanding, and as always please feel free to send questions to our friendly Herald egroup: firstname.lastname@example.org. We are all on this list, so instead of hunting down a bunch of emails, this will get all of us at once. Thanks!

It's been a little bit since we caught you up on the goings on of the Universe around us, and there are really only two big stories this week when it comes to Star Wars print... the release of the newest canon novel Heir to the Jedi and the release of the first in a mini-series of comics centring around Princess Leia.
For those of you unfamiliar with the author Kevin Hearne, he's a fantasy author of some note, and writer of one of my favourite fantasy universes around in the Iron Druid Chronicles (go check it out when you have time). His writing style as you can see from the excerpt is styled first person, and has always reminded me somewhat of Jim Butcher. This novel has been released to stores... TODAY. I've personally got it marinating on my kindle and waiting to go, so hopefully I'll have some time to read this tonight.
Next up is the release Marvel's third comic book series, this one centring around Princess Leia Organa "between the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. The series address how Leia deals with the destruction of her home planet, as she tries to find survivors of the attack that are scattered across the galaxy." Now, full disclosure, I am generally not a comic book aficionado, I have always enjoyed the stories but just never dug deeply into them... so far though, I have been greatly enjoying Marvel's renewed offerings of Star Wars and Darth Vader. The art style from what I have seen in Princess Leia may be a bit distracting at times, but I have been enjoying the writing and the interconnected storylines a lot lately, so we'll hopefully see Leia be the third home-run for Marvel's return to the Star Wars universe.
Happy reading this week everyone!

A quick reminder: applications for Left Hand of Justice are due today (March 2) at 10:00 EST. In your application, aside from the usual details, please give some insight as to why you would be a good defense counsel, and any preliminary thoughts that you may have on solidifying the rights of the accused in the Covenant. Please see my prior post for more details.

As those of you that read Rian's latest report know, he has stepped down today. I would like to thank him for his excellent service to Taldryan over the last years, where he lead Taldryan into reclanning and into several Vendetta placements.
In his place, Yacks aka Keirdagh will be rising to Consul, and he has appointed Halc as his Proconsul.
Congratulations to Yacks and Halc, and thank you again Rian for your service to Taldryan and the Brotherhood!

Turns out with all the GJW Grading and real life stuff I totally missed a February Report. That means this one will be extra long. Topics covered: Gaming Nights, Bots, ROC Project, TOR CF Table Updates, Wiki Update for PVP Score, Star Conflict PoB Project, Diablo 3 CF Review, Non-GJW Gaming during a GJW, Old Tier 2 Games, and catching up on past Gorefests.
DBGaming, Gaming Nights, and DBBot
You've probably all read in GM Pravus' recent report that we're going to be bringing Gaming Nights back. These will occur twice per week (days TBD) and the member with the best PVP Score will be earning a PoB. This project is currently at the top of my To Do List, its an easy win and we should see this happening in the next few weeks.
The longer term piece of this is making DBBot do some kind of slick match making, score calculating voodoo. Apparently this used to happen (different Bot) in the dark ages of IRC, so hopefully this won't take too long to get out to everyone.
ROC Rule Clarification Project (aka Operation "Play JST 4 Fun")
Also mentioned in the GM Report, Jac and I will be working on some modifications to the ROC to limit the gaming drama that occurs. Whether this results in an entirely new section or an update to an existing part like Unsportsmanlike Conduct is yet to be determined. More details to follow as our discussions continue.
TOR CF Table Updates
The most recent patch of TOR included several changes and updates to the Flashpoints in game. We're making the following changes to keep our systems in line with the in game updated Bioware is making:
- Legacy Level 50 Hard Mode Flashpoints reward has been increased to 4 CF. The Level Cap for earning these remains at 55.
- Blood Hunt and Battle of Rishi are now available as Level 60 Hard Mode Flashpoints. Completion of them will earn 5 CF. This reward is consistent with other Level 60 Hard Mode Flashpoints
- Level 55 Hard Mode Flashpoints (Athiss, Cademimu, Hammer Station, Mandalorian Raiders, Czerka Corporate Labs, and Czerka Meltdown) are now available in the Group Finder at 60. Max Hard Mode Level has been updated on them to 60, and completing them will earn 4 CF. This is a 1 CF decrease for Level 55 Hard Mode Flashpoints, due to increase of the Level Cap and them now being available to Level 60 players.
- Several Tactical Flashpoints (Korriban Incursion, Assault on Tython, Depths of Manaan, and Legacy of the Rakata) are now available on normal mode at 60. They continue to award 4 CF.
PVP Score Weighting
Short section. I've added some clarification to the PoB Wiki page which explains what platforms are currently not at the default value for PVP Score Weighting. These items were covered in my last report, but hadn't made their way to the wiki until now.
Star Conflict Pendants of Blood
We are planning for this to go live very soon. We are currently looking at it based on the different classes of ships available in game (there's 3) and the Tiers for each of them (5). Something that's been tossed around is to earn a PoB for maxing out all Ships in a Tier of a Class. This would be specific to the Tier, resulting in a max of 5 PoB which could be earned from Star Conflict. An Example:
- Valhavoc max levels all his Tier 1 Interceptor Ships. He earns 1 PoB.
- Landon max levels all his Tier 1 Interceptor Ships, Tier 1 Fighter Ships, Tier 1 Frigate Ships, and Tier 2 Interceptor Ships. He earns two PoBs, the first for any of the Tier 1's and a second for Tier 2 Interceptor.
This project is still ongoing and that path forward may change before Go-Live. Feedback is always welcome.
Diablo 3 CF Table Review
With the introduction of Ancient (aka better) gear Blizzard has once again thrown our CF tables off from in game reality. During this review of Diablo 3 we're going to be considering a different angle on earning CFs in game all together. With the introduction of Rifts and Greater Rifts we have the potential to move rewarding activity in Diablo 3 to be more in line with TOR. Using this sort of as a Tier'ed Flashpoint type thing (with demons instead of Jedi/Sith). Here's a first glance at what's being tossed around, again, all subject to change:
- Diablo 3 Rift: 1 CF
- Diablo 3 Greater Rift 1-25: 1 CF
- Diablo 3 Greater Rift Rank 26-35: 2 CF
- Diablo 3 Greater Rift Rank 36 or higher: 3 CF
These values have been based on the target Greater Rift completion times of 15 minutes. Additional consideration has been made on lowering the regular Rift values based on progress we've seen with Seasonal characters. With characters less than 1 month old it is already possible to crush through Torment 6 difficulty. That makes it seem like the difficulty levels are no longer a good standard to apply for the game.
Once again, nothing final yet. Feedback is welcome.
Feedback Request - Playing Non-GJW Games/Platforms during a GJW
One of the suggestions which has been popular on this topic has been to create a new IRC Channel specifically for Vendettas. This would allow members to utilize DBGaming for "normal" gaming throughout the year, however challenges for GJW/Vendettas would need to be made in a different channel. Probably something like #Vendetta, which we could register with X for control over. Check out the thread and provide your thoughts.
The future (or not) of unpopular Tier 2 Gaming Platforms
So last month I added a proposal in the Forum Thread related to this topic for additional discussion. There have been no additional comments on the thread yet, so I'm taking that as a positive thing. Baring anything groundbreaking next April we'll be applying the following rule to Tier 2 Platforms.
Any Tier 2 Game (except Star Wars Games) which has no matches submitted in a 12 month period may be removed after notification of this game's "Near Retirement" status in a Fist Report and no earlier than one month after the Report is published.

Gaming Competition Results
This report is already crazy long and I see I have several competitions that still need to be judged for this section. To get all the earlier information out sooner, I'm going to delay this section until next report.

I'm sure everyone expected this, given the major position changes that swept the Brotherhood this last week, but here's a brand new Voice report from a brand new Voice, and that means starting with a bit of an introduction.
For those unaware, Aidan Kincaid is a recent character I've made for the purposes of fiction writing. More of you will know me by my old name—Shadow Taldrya—as its the name I still use for communication purposes like IRC and email. I've been a member of the Brotherhood for just over thirteen years now. I'd be the middle child in terms of DB age, younger than the decrepit members like Jac and Howie, but older than most of you who joined during Muz's reign as Grand Master.
When I started out, I was a hardcore gamer. Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, Republic Commander, Battle Front… these were my mainstay activities in my first few years as a member. Writing to me, at the time, was for Krath. A decade later and that has changed completely. (I only whore D3 for CFs now!) For the last few years I've been heavily invested in the fictional and character development aspects of the Brotherhood. I've worked with Mav and Sarin in the past and recently on various fiction-related projects and have now been given the chance to run some of my own.
As one of those old, crabby members, I'm not really down with all the newfangled technolomogies, but if anyone ever has something they want to discuss or complain about, email is the best way to ensure I get your message. You can also catch me on IRC in #db as Shadow, Sh4dwhr, or (most probably) Shad-away in the evening hours. I'm more than happy to talk or explain things or bitch about things with everyone.
Now, with all that out of the way, let's begin.
One thing to mention: In writing this report, I discovered that I had waaaaaaaay too much to write about. I've axed about a third of it and will send that information out in additional news posts next week. Everyone be grateful!
So, the first thing I learned after getting Voice was that I had way too many positions. Early in Mav's term as Voice, he took control of the role of Combat Master of the ACC. And with me already being Wiki Tribune, I decided my workload was insane.
After discussion with Sarin and Mav, we decided it would be best to open up applications for Combat Master and Wiki Tribune. CM and the ACC have (since their resurrection) been a part of the Voice's office, and the Voice and CM work together on the ACC. Wiki Tribune, however, has always been under the direct control of the Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master. Seeing as those two are busy guys, with hundreds of projects to deal with, we decided to add Wiki Tribune to the Voice umbrella. Below I'll explain a little more on how that works. However, both positions will retain their title and their staffs. Voice will serve a more managerial role and just pitch in on bigger projects, rather than the day-to-day.
When the ACC re-launched, we were unfortunately mired in a long-running vendetta and couldn't really afford to push this revitalized activity to the Brotherhood. Later, in the second round of Fading Light, we had a massive elimination tournament using the ACC that lasted months. Since then, there's been no focus on the ACC. No love.
For Combat Master, we're looking for a driven individual who can push ACC activity and create competitions and events to draw members into dueling it out or working together in coop to complete tasks. We want to see what ideas you have for the ACC. The more detail the better, so feel free to speak your mind.
Knowledge of the new Antei Combat Center, ACC rules, and judging are all a big plus. The Combat Master will be in charge of a staff of judges and will be responsible for ensuring matches are judged and ACC exams are graded in a timely manner. As mentioned, the CM will work closely with the Voice to further develop the ACC, but will take point on day-to-day operations and staff appointments/removals.
Applications should be sent to Sarin, Mav, and myself. Due Sunday, March 8 at midnight EST.
Wiki Tribune Applications
Wiki Tribune has, traditionally, been a job that involved monitoring the Recent Changes and correcting mistakes and chastising mistake makers. The Tribune is also in charge of overseeing that wiki standards are kept and dealing with journeymen character pages and approving them for promotion requirements. The Tribune will also be responsible for developing and maintaining guides for page layouts.
We want to expand that job a bit. The wiki is the Brotherhoods archive. All our lore and history is stored there. The Wiki Tribune, therefore, is something of an Archivist. Over the last two years, the Brotherhood has been embroiled in a massive event. Part of the Tribune's new duties, and those of his/her staff, will be to help chronicle the history of these major events and DB history in general. An example of this can be found on the Dark Crusade page.
Knowledge of how to use mediawiki is important. Template creation, and understanding wiki rules and etiquette are a big plus. With the new part of the job, writing abilities are also very useful to have. The wiki is an important part of the Brotherhood, show us that you have the skills to oversee the wiki and staff, and create articles and content. Show us your wiki and writing skills, and ideas you have to further improve the wiki.
Applications should be sent to Sarin, Mav, and myself. Due Sunday, March 8 at midnight EST.
It's My First Day… — This is a competition being run by Andrelious (Mark) for Second Level Crescents (will be first soon based on the number of participants already). The prompt involves you writing about your character's first day in the Brotherhood.
The War Is Over! — This competition is being run by Darkblade with help from Chizz. The prompt involves you detailing how your character deals with the aftermath of the Great Jedi War.
Both competitions are being judged using the Fiction Rubric and are awarding Crescents and Clusters of Ice. Be sure to check them out! Expect some competitions from the Voice office within the next two weeks.
Character Sheets 2.0
The current version of the Brotherhood's Character Sheet was released more than a year and a half ago. As most of you who were around for the old system know, the new CS was a departure from what we had before as we turned away from a gaming system based on "dice rolls and modifiers" to a system that promoted defining a character's physical, personality, and combat traits.
While I am a big fan of the system Mav released, there has always been room for improvement and enhancement. To that end, the Voice office (originally under Mav) began the process of working on an update and expansion of the current Character Sheet. We have dubbed it "CS 2.0". The update will see a lot of small fixes to the existing lists of powers and skills as well as an expansion on feats, aspects, and disciplines. Wally (that former Arconan Consul guy) has headed the project since before I took over as Voice, and he and his team have done some excellent work in terms of expansion.
Unfortunately, progress slowed a bit during our massive three-pack of vendettas (DC, FL, GJW), but now that we have conquered everything that needed conquering, the team is back at work. Part of these updates will coincide with some of the future plans Mav and Sarin have hinted at in their reports. Look forward to hearing more about CS 2.0 in the comings weeks!
Shadow Academy Courses
Prior to getting Voice, me and my Wiki Tribune staff were embroiled in much needed updates to the various Wiki courses in the Shadow Academy. After Voice, my list of SA courses to work on quadrupled! That's okay, though. The Headmaster, in conjunction with myself and busybody old people, has some cool plans in the works to expand the Academy's offering of writing-based courses—particularly those relating to "combat writing". I have pretty much just been dropped into the middle of active discussions, so I'll share more on these future courses later.
Aside from new courses, we also have plans to review and update the ACC courses and the old writing courses (Poetry, RO Studies, and the like). I'll be talking to the talented people in charge of those to touch base and see how things are going.
For you SA courses fans, you have lots to look forward to.
Both Mav and Sarin have teased this in the past. Now that I've been appointed Voice, that torch has been passed on. The Fiction Society is meant to be the writing equivalent of gaming's GMRG. Like the GMRG, the Fiction Society will have a backstory, ranks, and special goodies for those who advance. The difference between the Society and the GMRG, is that because we're based on writing fiction, we can make greater use of our backstory to tie into the events and characters we use.
Mav and Sarin started this project with some really interesting ideas, and I'll be working with them to see those released to the rest of you. Societies in the Brotherhood are all about pushing activity and what, in MMO terms, would be called "horizontal progression". Your character won't be getting any stronger, but you'll still be gaining new achievements and toys for the effort toy put in.
As most of you have noticed, the Cluster of Ice has started to have a big role in rewards for fiction, run on, and ACC competitions. Consider that a clue as to how some parts of the Fiction Society will work. And, as always, expect some cool stuff to enhance your characters and dossiers with!
Yes. This was a very, very long report. I'm very happy I decided to cut large parts of it for future news posts. Might be a slightly better chance of everyone reading this now (doubt it). I'm not big on saving up information to announce it all at once. I like to announce things as I get information or as they're completed. So expect smaller news bits from me in the future as the Voice Office and Affiliates begin hammering out some of these great ideas we have for all of you.
Big thanks to Nobilus for the awesome report banner and separators and signature!!

The Dark Jedi Brotherhood is built on history and tradition. We celebrate the split, we celebrate the Day of the Fox, and we celebrate a ton of other minor events. I've decided to add another holiday (Jac House Party) with a few additional rules, because....why not.
Allow me to introduce, the Day of the Jac. Jac is...well Jac. One of our most influential members, one of the few to write the covenant, and one of the few to lead our club post split (and the guy who took a chance on a wild Sarin to run the club).
So, who gets the extra SS: Our club has been spoiled for years. Once upon a time we would have to wait for a particular coder to show up and participate for a short amount of time, but....the reality of our present is none other than James. So, double whammy.
As the Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood, I officially award James Lucius Entar Arconae the title of Sith Lord and the Silver Sash (now a 2 x time of year award) .
James' value as a member of our club cannot be overstated. His role as a coder cannot be overlooked. His awesomeness is a a clear cut example of how to make our club a better place. I don't need to explain any further his role in shaping our club's future (even Nan thinks James should be my boss).
Please join with me and congratulate our bad ass champion of coding, Sith Lord, and winner of the SS!
