Coruscant Level 1313

So named because it is located one thousand, three hundred, and thirteen levels from the core of Coruscant, Level 1313 is distanced from the politics of the upper levels. Overlooking the chasm burrowing further into Coruscant’s core, one can watch freighters transporting their illicit cargo between levels. One misstep would send the careless careening into the bottomless pit, or aid the local gangs in staging “accidents.”

Weathered duracrete forms the retainer along the chasm wall, built in concentric rings that descend down an untold height. Strengthened with solid durasteel braces, maintenance has not been needed this far into Coruscant for a long time. Nevertheless, droids pre-programmed to fill in the cracks and crevices that might form in the walls float on repulsorlifts without drawing attention from the criminal gangs. The gangs themselves are focused on their next smuggling operation or struggle for control over Coruscant’s scum-filled underbelly.

Stepping out onto the walkway, Ahsik set his hands on his hips and took a deep breath. Having set himself on a test, Ahsik had set up a lil gambling booth. A simple game of “find the pearlunder the mugs”. However it wasn’t a fair hearted game. Ahsik was intent on using the force to cheat and play with his unsuspecting victims. Using his lil droid he quickly got the booth set and got to waiting for someone to show up, smile on his face and eager to engage.

After about an hour of being passed by and ignored, Ahsik had raised his original stake of 50creds to 500creds. However still no one would take the bait. “It’s a tough crowd on Coruscant..” Ahsik said. “Huff” Suddenly the hair on the Zabrak’s head stood when he set eyes on an armored Shistavanen with a furrowed brow. “This is gonna be a good one.” Ahsik said to himself under his breath as he approached his new furred victim of mischief.

“You there! Sir how would you like to ma-“ Ahsik cut himself off at the sound of the chittering coming from the milidon crawling beside his master. “How would I like to, what? Little boy” Fenrir said to this Sith before him. “How. Would you like to make 2000 credits by using those animal instincts to find this pearl under these mugs on my table here?” Ahsik proposed. Motioning for his droid to get the pearl and the promised reward. “Hmm... perhaps” Fenrir agreed and sat at the booth. Hands crossed with his elbows on the table and eyes resting just above his knuckles, the watched intently as the mugs shifted, looking to keep his eyes on the pearl. “Now that I’ve moved them, just tell me which one you want to pick? Which ones got your payout?” Ahsik said in a sing song voice. Fenrir focused and raised his hand over each one, hand sure and resting on the mug that had his pearl. Ahsik then reached over and grabbed the mug, he locked eyes with the gambler and slowly raised the mug. Nothing He then moved his hand over a mug on the end and lifted it. There it was! The pearl that had just duped Fenrir “RRRaWw, AGAIN!” Fenrir was enraged that he could be duped, he was sure the force had guided his hand. “Okay. Okay okay buddy, just relax. We can play again and this time for double or nothing. You either win your earning and twice as much, or you walk away scott free” Ahsik was getting a little unsettled by the creature at Fenrir’s hip. It was getting more agitated with its master. “Hmph” Fenrir grunted.

Ahsik then tried his little trick again, waiting for Fenrir to begin his decision making. Fenrir did not look Ahsik in the eyes and did not open his eyes when making his choice, swiftly grabbing the mug himself and lifting it without warning. Ahsik had made a mistake, as soon as Fenrir had seen that he had won, he looked over to see the zabrak’s face and saw a look of rage and horror. In that moment Fenrir knew, he was just being played, and that was something the warrior beast would not tolerate. As the growl in Fenrir’s throat began to rumble, Ahsik kicked the table with force enough to crush his seat with the backlash. “Tinker, my staff!! RUN!” Ahsik shouted as the table flipped unto Fenrir, who’s growl was beginning to become a roar, his beast about to pounce on Ahsik. The droid tossed the staff and began to run in its awkward gait, “if you die I’m taking the shiiiiiiiip!”, Tinker said as it ran as best it could. Again grabbed his staff and batted the giant insectoid aside and readied himself for his fight against the big bad wolf. Whom he now recognized as the Knight Beast of his own Clan. Ahsik was about to have to fight his brother over his little prank.
