Jakku Fallen Starship

A year after the destruction of the second Death Star in the celebrated Battle of Endor, another war was waged between the New Republic and Galactic Empire. Basking beneath the desert sun of Jakku rests the remnants of this hostility. Shifting sands have since buried and uncovered countless treasures and relics—to the delight of scavengers eager who hope to recover tokens from either side of the conflict!

The harsh desert offers little shelter from the elements, remaining barren and flat against the imposing backdrop of a fallen Star Destroyer that was left uncovered after the famed Battle of Jakku. Rather than allowing the vessel to fall into the hands of the Republic after the self-destruct had been sabotaged, Captain Ciena Ree ordered the Inflictor evacuated and sent it crashing to the planet’s surface. Sunken into the shifting desert sea, the upper portion of the Inflictor’s hull and exhaust ports remain otherwise intact, preserved amidst the rubble of untold casualties that had once occurred on both sides. Although it has been scoured by the passing of several sandstorms, it still displays the former power and might of the Galactic Empire.

Fallen Starship

Countless scraps of metal and machines of war share the same grave, echoing the lives of those who fought and died among the perilous wastes. Hundreds of these relics sit untouched, lingering amidst the ghosts that tend and reside in Jakku’s graveyard.

Celevon Werd’a sighed quietly and readjusted his mask to keep the dust and sand away from his mouth. This mission was a bust, just as he’d suspected it would be. Why his superiors had him acting on the potential of there being Force-related artifacts on this vessel was anyone’s guess. As far as the Seeker knew, the Imperial Inquisitors had been all but wiped out by the time of the Battle of Jakku.

Still, it had meant a few days away from his House Arrest, restricted to the island on Solyiat. Then almost a full forty-eight hours scouring every nook and cranny in the crashed wreckage of an old Star Destroyer, sensing for anything imbued with Force energy.

As he secured a rope to rappel down to where he could exit the downed ship through the exhaust ports, the Shaevalian-Umbaran activated his encrypted comlink, calling Jade in orbit. “I’ll be ready for pickup in ten. If there was anything here worth finding, the salvagers on this planet got a hold of it years ago... maybe a decade or more, as I sensed no traces of any Force presence.”

After a moment or two, the Mandalorian’s voice came through. “Roger that, vod. It’ll be at least half an hour until pickup, since I still have to clear the fuel lines of any debris leftover from landing on that sandpit.”

The Seeker chuckled. “Understood. See you then.”

Once the comlink was returned to the pouch he kept it in, Celevon shimmied down the open area to ground level. His boots had barely hit the ground when the Force screamed a warning.

As the Blade Master leapt to the side, he heard the unmistakable sound of a blaster being fired. Two bolts tore through where he had been just a moment before. As he landed and rolled back to his feet, the Seeker deftly drew and cocked back the hammer of his Slugthrower Revolver. In the same motion, he brought the weapon to bare, aimed at the source of the blasterfire...

Only to find, within his sights, a vaguely familiar male. A very tall Human male, with dark blue eyes, a well-kept beard. Slicked back brown hair, smirking at him. It took another heartbeat before he placed the face.

“Jon... Jon Silvon? Why the frack are you shooting at me? The Council of Urr knows I’m here, since they sent me on this mission...”
