Begeren. Once a prosperous Sith world, it has been the site of numerous battles throughout the millennia. Grand halls and monuments were torn down and re-purposed by looting Republic forces thousands of years ago, before they were driven from the planet. Isolated settlements still dot the planet's surface, but the inhospitable, craggy, and desert-like terrain, along with the beasts common to many desert and Sith worlds, have kept most humanoids from colonizing. Occasional skirmishes have left debris scattered throughout the desert, and battles were fought here as recently as the Galactic Civil War. The planet is now under the control of the One Sith and is rumored to be full of all manner of priceless, ancient Sith artifacts.

The Dark Council has pushed forth to Begeren and the Grand Master, on his quest for ever more powerful items, has decreed the Clans and Houses seize anything of value. The unity shown by the Brotherhood during the beginning of this Crusade is fracturing, with the Clans and Houses growing tired and frustrated with the seemingly endless succession of battles. Tempers are flaring between former allies, with outright aggression no longer uncommon. Despite this, you have responded to the Grand Master's call—though whether it's to actually seize the items for the Brotherhood, destroy them, or use them for your own purposes, only you know.

You have followed the call of the Force to a stretch of desert wasteland, seemingly unremarkable save for the various rock outcroppings that dot the landscape. These outcroppings, though, hide a subterranean cave network, known to be a den of wraids. Though the entrances to the caverns are typically narrow and dark, these tunnels quickly widen. Below the surface, bioluminescent plants and lichen provide limited light.

You know that, despite reaching this place first, you won’t be alone for long, as an ancient Sith tomb is located deep within the caves the wraids now call home. Exactly what you’ll find in that tomb, you’re not sure—but it is something of great power, that much you can sense. You know it is your duty to find it, whatever it is, before any others can locate it. What you do with it when you find it… that is up to you.

As you near one of the entrances to the caves, you think you hear the sounds of footsteps, or maybe skittering, down below—and above ground, you hear the distant crunch of rock underfoot as someone else has found a different rocky cave entrance as well.

Revak Kur slowed his breathing and closed his eyes. Without being distracted by other stimuli he was better able to focus more on the sound of footsteps he thought he heard off in the distance. The desert was barren and dead, nothing could be heard except for the wind racing across the sand, picking up the small grains and hurling them into anything that stood in its way. As the sound wind grew louder, Revak decided to give up on his search for the rogue footsteps and head into the cave.

This particular outcropping broke out of the sand and stood like one of the great buildings on Coruscant. It was speckled with light blue gemstones that glowed as they caught the sun’s rays. Revak placed his hand on the smooth, sand beaten walls to help guide himself down the steep rocky grade. The cave grew darker as he made his way further below the surface. The wind howled as it bounced off the cave walls. Or, at least he thought it was the wind. Caves like these often team with creatures who seek to escape from the day’s heat. Revak continued cautiously down the cave being careful not to kick any of the loose rocks, alerting anything to his presence.

After traveling what seemed to be a kilometer, the cave opened into a large cavern approximately 15 meters wide by 7 meters high. Revak looked back up towards the entrance which, to his surprise, was no longer the source of light. Various flora, decorated the walls of the cave. The limited light the plants gave off was cast in magnificent blues, greens, and pinks. He would have taken more time to admire the beauty had it not been for the fact that he was on an enemy world with possibly an entire colony of creatures ahead of him. He adjusted his helmet to account for the low lighting. Through the darkness he could just make out the top of the great archway of the Sith burial chamber. Revak couldn’t see any Wraid but he still had a lot of cave left before reaching his target. Just as he took his first step towards the tomb, the sound of a rock tumbling down from the cave entrance caught his attention. Every muscle in his body tightened as his full focus was on what caused the rock to fall. He quickly knelt down behind a boulder and waited for the creature to reveal itself. Quiet footsteps grew louder. After a few minutes what caused the rock to fall became clear. Standing not five meters from him was a cloaked figure, approximately his height with a slender build. The figure removed his hood, revealing silver hair that almost completely covered his human face. The figure closed his eyes, took two deep breathes then a small smirk appeared on his face.

“You can come out now, Jedi.”

Revak stood up and placed his right hand on his lightsaber, unsettled by the smirk.

“My name is Kyo Loric. Inquisitor in the Krath Order. House Galeres. Clan Arcona. My Master sent me here to find the relic buried deep within this tomb...”

Revak remained silent.

“I have orders to retrieve the relic and eliminate anything that stands in my way. My Master would be very pleased if I return with the relic and a Jedi’s lightsaber.” The scenario brought a smile to his face.

“I will take the relic and it will be destroyed…” Revak announced. “The power that it…”

The conversation was interrupted by the roar of a large male Wraid who had stumbled upon them during their banter. The Wraid charged. He got within a meter of Kyo before he leapt out of its path. He landed on his feet, ignited his lightsaber and turned to face the creature. The Wraid had just missed Revak as well, who jumped off to the side.

Kyo squeezed his lightsaber tightly as the creature charged at him once more. He let it get close again before sidestepping and driving his lightsaber into its side. The momentum of the Wraid allowed Kyo to almost completely cut down the entire length of the animal. It fell dead as its organs spilled onto the ground. Kyo extinguished his lightsaber before looking at Revak with a grin and saying “Now it’s your turn.”
