Hoth Ice Cave

On the fringes of the Outer Rim territories and famous for being the one-time location of the Rebel Alliance, Hoth is a frigid world marred with fissures created from the tidal pull of Hoth’s three moons. Blanketed in a frozen ocean, massive oceanic currents beneath the southern hemisphere are the cause of constant seismic activities that result in a constantly shifting landscape of tunnels and caves.

Buried into the side of a fissure reaching hundreds of meters into the core of the planet is a network of tunnels leading into a cave. Its sole entrance is suspended within the wall of the fissure, requiring one to rappel down the dangerous crevasse and into the tunnels; one small miscalculation could send explorers descending the rest of the unmeasured height deep within the planet’s core.

Hoth Ice Cave

Insulated under several hundred meters of ice in all directions, the cave is protected against the gale force winds and the intense snowstorms that sweep along the planet’s surface. As a result, the cave is warmer than most of Hoth’s unforgiving cold with melting icicles dangling precariously overhead. In turn, this allows for more life to grow in addition to being a promising habitat for the hulking wampas that have been trapped this far below the surface. Beginning to thaw, it is obvious that this cave will eventually fall victim to seismic activity and disappear into the sheets of ice that surround it. Illuminating the cave’s interior with a dull blue glow, the luminous forms of lichen have taken up residence among the bones of the creatures unfortunate enough to be trapped here.

Caution must be exercised if one is to navigate the slippery slopes of the cave as melted icicles drip onto the cavern’s floor surface. In one corner of the cave, the ocean water has accumulated to form a large pool, providing sustenance to the rare lumni-spice growing within the crystalline complex, never to see the blue-white sun.

Cold ice planets. “Why am I always being sent to these frozen worlds. I think Sang and Bentre love to torture me,” Jurdan thought to himself as he rappelled down the side of an ice crevasse in the Hoth underground. The Battlemaster would make sure that his next assignment looking for pirates and rebels would not lead him to an ice world. First his narrow escape on Ilum and now he would have to mind his surroundings against an actual Force user. Naga Sadow leadership really had it in for Clan Odan-Urr in recent months. Recent strikes on CNS supply routes had worn down clan leadership to the point of frustration. They wanted revenge.

Jurdan finished his rappel and his boots met with a wet slush. Things were much warmer down below the surface. He could feel water dripping on his head from the roof of the cavern the further he walked. The Sith continued to search for his mission objective but the Jedi was nowhere to be found. There was a small lake here, it was composed of melting ice and soon this entire area would become highly unstable. Jurdan poked his head around a corner and narrowly dodged a crimson red blade that sliced down at his head from behind an ice wall.

“Greetings Krennel. Nice of you to join me. Don’t go too far, wouldn’t want you to lose your head,” Tisto joked with the Sith opponent.

“Some Jedi you are. Attacking with a red blade and without warning,” Jurdan quickly chastised the Jedi. “I thought you people used the Force for defense and not attack?”

“I am no mere Jedi, as you will soon find out,” Tisto said as he raised his blade into the air causing more of the cave to start melting overhead.

“So it begins!” Jurdan yelled as he ignited his purple blade and launched an attack on the newcomer.

The Sith and Jedi twirled around each other making sure to mind their footing in this slushy mess. Jurdan gripped his saber just below the hilt with his hand and squeezed tightly to get ready for the next attack. Tisto seemed to lose himself in the flow of battle. It was as if he had surrendered himself to his lightsaber. He was moving in a manner that was making it hard for Jurdan to stay one step ahead. They moved around like fighting tornadoes dancing in the wind, merging and separating as they were pulled together.

The battle pushed them further into the cavern as they attacked and parried, parried and attacked. Their movements blurred into confusion as they went. They had not minded their surroundings and Jurdan sensed danger ahead and it wasn’t from Tisto.

“Tisto, look out!” Jurdan yelled quickly. Tisto jumped back narrowly avoiding a Wampa’s arm reaching out to claw him. It let out a giant roar as it rushed the two men. Jurdan jumped and slid on his knees around the bottom of the monster while Tisto jumped into the air above the creature. As Jurdan finished his slide he threw lightning bolts at the beast’s back hitting it hard. He off balanced the creature as Tisto launched an attack on the Wampa’s head, cleaving it straight from the top of it’s body. The beast’s giant body fell to the ground with a thud it pushed more slush out from where it had fallen.

“Well, these battles just get more and more interesting don’t they?” Jurdan joked.

Tisto didn't respond, using the drop in his opponent's guard to think. This cave wasn't the best place for a fight, one insecure step could end with a person's skull cracked against the rock. Not to mention his entire introduction, it was horrible, and really cliche. Tisto made a mental note to stop binging holofims on hyperspace trips to missions. The last thing he wanted was to become known as a giant nerd. Saber still in hand, Tisto turned quickly and slashed at Jurdan, hoping to catch the human off-guard. The Sadowan brought his blade up is a guard, deflecting the strike. Tisto quietly cursed himself for that plan and jumped back. He was still getting used to fighting other Force Users, and often forgot they had the same, if sometimes better, reaction to danger as he sometimes did.

"Why the frak are you here?!" Tisto half said half growled as his anger built up. Tisto found himself hating Jurdan. The damn human was interrupting his mission. "Because if it isn't important get out of my way."

"Why do you think I am here," Jurdan replied. "I'm here to get what I want from you. I will use your corpse as an example to Odan-Urr. They will see first hand the results of being enemies with the mighty Clan Naga Sadow!"

"You were told to kill me weren't you?" Tisto spat. "You and your ilk are pathetic. But if you are here to kill me I suppose I should return the favor before joining back with my gang in the search for the rumored Inquisitor gathering."

"What?" Jurdan said. "What gang? You are a Jedi!"

Tisto looked behind himself mockingly. "Don't see a Jedi anywhere. Are you hallucinating by chance? That would make this so much easier."

"Are you mocking me Odanite?" the human asked, now visibly angered. The man's face had turned a vibrant shade of pink, and it appeared as if many of his veins would simply burst.

"You are the one who got yourself into a situation you don't understand," the biker said quite flippantly, calling the Force into his left hand. "You appear to think I am someone I'm not. Some crazy 'For the Light' Jedi. I am not. You appear to be a lunatic who took someone's orders to find me and kill me without knowing what you got yourself into. If I were you that would be enough to make me hang my head in shame. Yet here you are asking if I am mocking you as if you were a youngling."

Jurdan launched himself forward in a mix of bravery and rage, now with the single goal of wearing down and killing this impudent Jedi. Tisto released the Force from his hand at that moment, slamming his hand into the ground as Jurdan got close. Cracks appeared on the ice covered floor of the floor sending ice shards flying in the enclosed area. The human was buffeted back as shards of ice flew from around the area where Tisto had hit the ground with the Telekinetic attack. At the same time, the ground trembled from the impact, causing the Dark Sider to stumble back, messing up his guard. A shard of ice cut across the human's cheek, while several more slammed into his armor.

"I will ask you one more time," Tisto said. "Are you sure you want to do this?"
