Scientific Method Combat

The character, like most of their peers, has trained with a blaster though, just like any weapon, hates to use it. Instead, when forced to fight, The character will use their surgical scalpels and anesthetics (poisons) to attempt to injure and incapacitate opponents. This requires their to get extremely close to their attackers and leaves them vulnerable to more maritally-inclined fighters and ranged specialists.

Riff Raff General

The character never really learned the definition of true consequence. They have “thieved” and tricked their way into the hearts of strangers, friends, and family but has never dealt with nor experienced a heavy sense of responsibility for those actions. This makes The character a very carefree soul, but he isn’t one for serious conversations or threats.

Resourceful Researcher General

The character's life is filled with training and learning for all sorts of situations, from the mind-numbingly normal to the utterly bizarre. As such, The character has developed into a rather resourceful individual. This has made The character a mix of academic and scholar, always with something to offer to any discussion. However, knowledge and training does not always translate well to the tense environment of the battlefield, and no amount of textbooks can prepare one for reality...

Puppeteer Combat

The character seems to get their thrills, perhaps sadistic ones at that, from toying with their opponents. Some are content with simply striking down or injuring their opponent, but that is not enough for The character. No, they wish to see their enemy descend into madness or kneel before them as a blathering mess; or even better, as a fresh new servant with a muddled mind. The Puppeteer usually forsakes outright hurting and maiming their opponent and focuses on illusions, mind tricks, and other wicked means of destroying a person.

Problem Solver General

The character looks at any problem they come across and instead of immediately complaining about it sets out to figuring out a solution. They will work tirelessly to find workarounds or a solution, but can often overthink the resolution and come up with a "fix" that is actually more complex than needed. This driven approach to fixing problems can be helpful at times but grating at others when a simple "restart" would have accomplished the task quicker than re-programming the entire device.

Prideful General

Despite whatever all their other characteristics may convey, The character retains the air of a person that is confident, if not arrogant. Minor (and often, major) things in their body language - their walk, their stance, their expressions - reveal these feelings. At times, it seems they border upon narcissism, especially judging from how much they enjoy their own company.

Praetorian Form Combat

Even the most gifted of weapon masters understands the importance of physical fitness and disciplining the body with through martial arts training. The character has trained vigorously in unarmed combat by fusing Teräs Käsi and Echani with other unconventional forms. While this martial focus helps bolster their prowess in close-quarters combat, The character is still limited in scope when facing down a less direct or ranged threat.

Play For Blood Combat

Through a mixture of cocksure courage and arrogant swagger, The character will not back down from a challenge when called out, even if the wiser path is to walk away or let it go. The character's personality does tend to rub a lot of people the wrong way, which generally puts them into situations that escalate quickly to violence. While they may not be the one to always start a fight, they will always see it through to it’s conclusion. Some have tried to play a challenge off as idle banter, but when The character initiates or accepts a challenge, they do not hold back.

Outside The Box Personality

The character is a lateral thinker, and when they encounter problems or dilemmas, they are very good at improvising and coming up with alternative solutions. This allows The character to find ways out of situations others might give up on. While these solutions are often not so obvious to others, The character can typically explain and lead others through their plan...as long as they are patient and willing enough to trust them outside thinking.

Ooh, Shiny! Personality

On the Run General

The character is no greenhorn when it comes to dealing with those who wish them ill. At some point, they manage to cross the wrong people, and now they've got a mark on their hide for it. While such experiences have hardened them for adrenaline-filled moments of evading those who seek to make them their quarry, they can never be quite sure if they are truly safe, for promises of wealth or power can turn even the most seemingly stalwart of allies to enemies with knives poised at their back.

Once More Unto The Breach Combat

Born with an intractable will and limitless courage, The character will stand in the face of insurmountable odds and never retreat. Despite the fact that such acts of heedless bravery are inspiring and will sometimes result in victories worthy of song, just as often they result in their allies getting wounded or killed.

Natural-born Killer Personality

My Fees Are High For A Reason General

The character does not charge a high price because they have to pay for a life of luxury; they charge a high price because they know that they are the best in the game and worth the credits. Those who do not know The character will feel they are gouging them, but those who have seen them in action know that they always deliver. This bravado follows The character around and builds on the success of completed jobs and can be off-putting to other Mercenaries that will try and lash back by pointing out their failures.

Public 2016/09/23 / 2018/12/17
Minister of War Combat

The character is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. They have spent their life building themself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has lead them to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others - even their superiors and subordinates.

Public 2013/07/31 / 2018/12/17
Mad World General

The character has a sick sense of humor, viewing the world through dark colored glass. They have a biting sense of black humor, often laughing at things that most people would find reprehensible or down right soul crushing. As a result, those that are not used to their brand of humor often find The character downright unbearable or overly morbid. At the same time, their cynicism can be useful for seeing through the optimistic altruism of those they encounters.

Loyalty Is Earned, Not Bought General

While The character will see a job through to its conclusion and put forward their best effort, it’s still just a job. The character's true loyalties lie to their friends, and through thick and thin, they will stand by them and die for them if needed. This loyalty is reserved for those who have earned The character's trust, putting them at odds with other Mercenaries that are only doing a job for the money. This also makes it harder for employers to trust their motives, often times creating extra competition and difficulty finding work. None of it matters to The character, though, because loyalty to their friends is not something credits can buy.
