Welcome to the third Research Project of the Sphere of Research and Intelligence (SRI). The winning fiction of the previous round, submitted by Andrelious, provided little for the SRI to work with as it looks to become a valued part of Clan Taldryan. But even darkest night must end and Andrelious’ mission has given the SRI a valuable clue. It is this lead that will be the focus of the fiction for this round.

The SRI has also received it’s first official support from Clan Taldryan, a Stormtrooper Battalion. This is an official clan asset and one that will begin to be fleshed out in this Research Project. A battalion, in our possession system, is essentially a headquarters company made up of command, medical and logistical staff along with a security detail. While this doesn’t give the SRI any major additional combat capabilities it will mean that we can begin to canonize the NPC command staff.

I have also decided to keep the SRI events open to all of Clan Taldryan for the time being. This may change for future events and revert back to an Ektrosis only series.

Fiction Update

The winning fiction entry submitted by Andrelious had his squad completely decimate the facility they were attempting to capture. The only items that were recovered were a few seemingly useless datapads. However, deep within their databanks a very interesting name was linked to Shi’s fallen organization, Torin Morgath. Morgath was formerly a high level Collective scientist that defected from that organization into Shi’s criminal syndicate. Justinios sees this scientist as a possible candidate for Supreme Director and has placed top priority on bringing her into the fold.

SRI Canon Fictions

Intelligence Update

All available SRI agents have been deployed to find and send word to Torin Morgath of the SRI's offer. Additionally, Taldryan Consul Rian Taldrya has reported that Astor Ky’Lian is now aware that Taldryan is more than just a former Imperial Fleet and contains Force Sensitive members. Members are directed to still be discreet about their abilities with the Force.

Finally, the SRI has officially been transferred a Battalion command staff from the Taldryan Army. Although it contains combat capable units, such as security forces, the main intent of this staff is to begin officially building the SRI's standalone paramilitary forces.

Research Update

The research division of the SRI has begun to take shape. The division is still leaderless but a few low level researchers, along with some run of the mill scientific equipment, have been recovered from some of Kagu Shi’s former facilities and brought aboard the Paragon. Excited at the possibility of the former Collective cybernetics expert Torin Morgath being recruited as Supreme Director, Justinios Drake has ordered the small staff to catalog and identify any resources and equipment currently available in order to quickly begin research when the time comes.

Morality

The current morality of the SRI is: Marginally Unprincipled

“Members should take care to minimize all casualties, especially innocent casualties. While on a mission the member can aggressively defend itself if under duress but should not initiate combat. SRI officials will likely look the other way over members breaking property laws or misdemeanors.”

Note: The morality level is approaching a threshold. With a strong influence of negative morality this round the SRI could very well be pushed another step down the moral ladder.
