Competition: [GJW XVI Phase II] Graphics and Miscellaneous - Button Again
During the running time of this competition, a "hot potato" style party game will run in the #button channel and a number of clan-restricted channels on the Brotherhood's Discord Server. "Buttons" with a countdown timer will be tossed into these channels by the bot, and any channel member can toss or redirect a button into another channel. When a button's timer expires, the clan whose channel the button is in will lose points, and the clan whose channel the button was in last will gain points. Your goal for this competition is simple: Through careful button clicking, as well as scheming with and/or manipulation of your fellow DB members, you should ensure your clan's score at the end of the competition is higher than any of the other clans.
The fine print
- Every ±7.5 minutes a button will drop into either a clan button channel or #button, cycling through the channels in a round-robin fashion, with the order randomised each hour.
- Buttons will have a timer set to approximately 20 minutes, will start with a value of 1, and can be redirected into a(nother) clan's channel by any member of the channel a button is currently in. Redirecting a button will increase its value by 1.
- If a button's timer runs out, the clan currently 'holding' said button will lose an amount of points equal to the button's value, while the clan that last redirected the button gains an amount of points equal to the button's value. The person who did so gains an equal amount of MVP points
- #button is not considered a clan channel. If a button is redirected from #button into a clan channel, and then runs out of time before getting redirected into another clan's channel, the clan holding the button loses 2 points, but nobody gains any points (clan or MVP), regardless of who redirected the button. In a similar fasion, buttons that run out of time in #button causes nobody to gain or lose any points.
- Points towards GJW scores will be determined per clan, similar to the way full clan run-ons used to count in the past, rather than individual points per 'placing' clan member.
- For each clan, the person with the most amount of MVP points will get earn competition placement equal to their clan's final placement, followed by each clan's person with the second most MVP points, again in clan placement order, followed by 3rd placements, etc.
- Any button interaction (redirecting a button) counts for participation
- Clan points can go below 0, MVP points cannot.
- Access to clan specific button channels will be provided automagically based on the clan membership role, access to #button will be provided to the Dee Dee role as usual. If you don't see your clan's channel, make sure to check the "Channels & Roles" screen in Discord.
- As always, a periodically updated score overview can be found at https://button.djb.club/.
Additional rules for Phase 2:
- No backsies
- Channels with a score of 250 points or above don't get the time left shown on buttons and cannot redirect buttons to channels with -250 points or below. #button can't gain any points so is always considered to have a score of 0 points.
