Primary reason

We always count on Frosty to bring home the gaming novae in big competitions, and he always delivers. During the Dark Crusade he was one of the few we could count on to participate and more often than not, win something shiny. Lately though, Frosty has also been running the newest of our two Battle Teams: the Knights of Tau. He's doing a great job, keeping in close contact with the House Summit and helping work with us to drive the direction of the House. He also keeps in close communication with his team, and has done an outstanding job building the fledgling team into an integral part of the House.

Now that we have our policy requiring all Tarenti be members of a battle team, Frosty's role has increased to that of a leader of half of all members of the House. He has taken that role on with enthusiasm and I am proud to be able to count on him as part of my leadership team. I offer this Steel Cross as a token of my appreciation for Frosty's hard work during the Dark Crusade and his leadership of the Knights of Tau.

Additional reasons

I love Frosty's type of leadership. Lead from the front, not the back. His time as BTL of KoT aside for a moment, his participation as a member over the Crusades has been more than welcomed. Frosty is a gamer, through and through. My entire time knowing him, I have always counted him that way and he proved it in the last three rounds of the Crusade by always having a participation point in gaming. But that over looks how much gaming he has done, by my count he has earned 214 Clusters of Fire since August. Not only has this been towards Tarentum's Crusade efforts but he is a dedicated, key member of the TOR guild and representing Tarentum in that field. Additionally, he has placed in the top three for every Tarentum gaming competition in the last 5 months, from mobile to flash games. And the topper, he won 1st in October's Gorefest. He's one of Tarentum's many resident gamers, and he's always is leading the pack.

However, Frosty doesn't just game. In fact, he more than often gets out of his comfort zone for the betterment of Tarentum. Participating in trivia and misc events. just to get more points on the board for us; Frosty even was a member of Tarentum's 3rd place finish in Ashsa Ree's Run-on. I wouldn't be surprised if this is why Scion choose him to head the Knights of Tau, had I been Aedile at that point and involved in the conversation; hands down Frosty would have been my choice. His message is consistent in that he both pushes for members to do what they love, even helping lead and coordinate the groups into this, while at the same time he motivates them to do what they can for the House. His guidance as Tarentae has been greatly appreciated as we try to turn things around in Tarentum. And he always has a great sense of reason he brings with his input. For all this things, I believe Frosty more than deserves a Steel Cross in recognition of what he has done for Tarentum in just these last few months. Thank you Frosty, and congrats!

Primary reason

Jason has been a constant source of enthusiasm and activity over the past year of the Dark Crusade, despite some setbacks and limitations. With nothing but a cell phone, he managed to participate in several rounds of the Crusade. He also served as Aedile of the House under Anshar. He served on Tarentum's special forces team in several rounds. I am pleased to offer an Anteian Cross in recognition of Jason's remarkable efforts during the Dark Crusade.

Scion Tarentae, 2013-12-11 07:02:43 UTC
Additional reasons

It's never easy leading a unit into a conflict, that much can be plainly stated. To lead one through a downfall, that takes strong shoulders. To see one through three, and I can't think of anyone that won't begin doubting the group at that point. Jason however never has, a constant and incredibly vocal boost for morale was always pushed by Jason over the Crusades. Examining old emails on the house list, Jason very much was Tarentum's cheerleader; always trying to rally it as the House's Aedile but he didn't limited it just to the side lines. His participation in the first phase was meant to be supportive, as he managed 4 entries in two rounds despite his limited time. Even after stepping down as Aedile, Jason remained around to try to boost morale and even tried to get in what entries he could in the very last round when we made our final push. If it wasn't from his encouragement, I don't think tarentum would have done better than it had. For this reason, I believe Jason should earn the Anteian Cross and our thanks for the efforts he made in the Dark Crusades.

Primary reason

Hades was one of Tarentum's most prolific participants in the Dark Crusade, bringing home a bronze nova in one round. He's one of the guys we can always count on to get in there and rack up some participation, but he's also active on the mailing list helping encourage others to participate and answering questions. He knows how this game works and he's very good at it. I am pleased to offer an Anteian Cross to thank Hades for his many efforts in the Dark Crusade.

Scion Tarentae, 2013-12-11 07:47:29 UTC
Additional reasons

Tarentum would not have done as well as it did without a select few. Hades matches that in all accounts. Did he participate? Yes, in all rounds with a 3rd placing in 1 event and he was our 4th highest participant. Did he help others? Many times, he not only offered his opinion but he also coached others and attempted to boost morale. Did he go above and beyond? He most certainly did, when we were in our last round Hades was actually in Rogues due the the November AWOL check happening when he was without a phone - his source of contact with the DB. 2 days before the round ended, Hades got a new phone and saw what was happening and transferred in last minute to fire off his last entries before time ran out. It is therefore my pleasure to recommend him for the Anteian Cross, as a mark of recognition and thanks for his efforts over the past year. Thanks Hades.

Archean came out for a couple of rounds during the Crusade and helped out during one of our best rounds. We greatly appreciate the effort and would like to offer a Dark Cross in recognition of his work. Thanks man!

Scion Tarentae, 2013-12-11 08:03:20 UTC
Additional reasons

Tarentum's best round for participation was in P2C1, and without efforts like Archean both in participating in half the events but in coaching and poking others to do so then I don't think Tarentum would have made it that high. For his efforts in this round, I believe Archean deserves to be awarded a Dark Cross as thanks. Every bit helps and is just as important. Thanks Arch.

Primary reason

House Tarentum requests a battlefield promotion for Saronyx. For the past four years she has been a permanent fixture amongst the Journeymen of Tarentum. While others have come and gone and dropped in and out of activity, Saronyx has always been with us. From one perspective she has not quite technically completed the requirements for Knighthood, but I submit that she has far exceeded them in her contributions to our House. She has participated in more than double the required number of competitions, and placed in more of those than the number required to simply participate in. She has helped lead her battle team, the Jen Kaari, as its Sergeant, and she has participated in every major event for the past four years including the Dark Crusade, GJW X, Horizons and others.

Like anyone her activity has ebbed and flowed over the years, and the last few requirements have proven difficult for her to balance against her full time job, full time school, and some difficult personal issues. Combined with the general state of Tarentum at the moment, it is all the more important to me that we recognize the importance of her efforts and contributions during the entirety of the Dark Crusade.

Scion Tarentae, 2013-12-11 05:02:21 UTC
Additional reasons

Reaching the rank of Dark Jedi Knight has been a long road for Saronyx. I am not her first Master, but I am pleased to have the distinction to be the last, and for the best of reasons. She has been an attentive student, eager and willing to learn, and I couldn't have asked for more from her.

I have watched her grow, from a barely active roster-spot holder during my days as Tarentum Aedile, to blossom into one of the paragons of activity that we enjoy today in our rebuilding House. Saronyx's efforts throughout the entirety of the Dark Crusade was nothing short of stellar; she didn't always place, but she always put in the effort. And, on top of that, she was constantly communicating with her Housemates, doing her part to keep them engaged and interested, earning her keep as the Baroness of the Ale Pond. She also took on the duties as the XO of the Jen Kaari Battleteam, getting her feet wet in the realm of leadership.

In taking a glance at her Promotheus report, she is only a few requirements short of having this promotion in the bag. Of the requirements she has completed, she has far surpassed the mark, some by a large margin. All these feats, during the turbulent times that the Crusade presented to all of us, she managed to do while holding down a job and attending school. Now that's something that I know I wouldn't be able to do, and I feel that alone is worthy of accolade and reward.

There is little more that I could teach Saroynx. As her Master, I feel that she is ready to take on the mantle of a Dark Knight, and fully join the ranks of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. It would be of the greatest personal reward to be able to bestow such an honor upon Saronyx.

Jason Hunter, 2013-12-11 04:59:33 UTC

Dark Jedi Knight, the cornerstone of Dark Jedi Brotherhood. It's at this rank where many in the DB find their purpose for the club at large. They go from mindlessly pumping through competitions, fiction/gaming, and superficial requirements to zeroing in on what they truly enjoy in the club. Saronyx, I think, has already figured this out. I think one day we will see her earning recognition for her work on the biggest and best thing to hit the DB ever, I think she will be there not just as a member but one of the people at the forefront of Tarentum's transformation, and I believe she will continue on from this promotion to earn all what the DJB has to offer; but none of this will be because of personal ambitions. It will be because she enjoys the club for what it is and her purpose will be that team leader or member that reigns people in to focus on their best. This won't be because she wants them to see the best in their selves...no, it will be because she reminded them that they owe their friends their very best.

I've heard many adjectives to describe Saronyx; caring, friendly, personable, bubbly, etc. It all seems to reflect the primary purpose we are all here for, and that is to enjoy in each others' company and make friendships. It's therefore not hard to like Saronyx, and equally not hard to see why she's one of Tarentum's cornerstones already as a journeyman. She's there to welcome others, inviting and engaging on IRC to anyone, she makes our House a better place just doing what she loves and I think that in itself in something to reward. Yet, there is many things to point to as merit for her promotion to Dark Jedi Knight. For the last six months she has placed in over 16 different competitions outside of the Dark Crusades. She has earned herself a merit award for her contributions to the house. She has earned four LSs for her participation in trivia. She has helped out with developing the wiki for Tarentum. She has ran her own competition. And she participated in eight of the competitions over the course of the last four chapters, taking it personally she couldn't do more in her busy school schedule and apologized to the summit for not doing more - believe me, its quite alright! :)

Saronyx is here more for her friends it seems then anything else, and as a thankful for that friendship and the merits it provides Tarentum in the form of trials completion and Crusades participation; I would hereby like to request she be promoted to Dark Jedi Knight. Congrats!
