Primary reason: I am honored to award Alara Deathbane her first ever Steel Cross. Since the turn of the new year, she has forged herself as a necessary and committed leader within the ranks of Clan Scholae Palatinae. Without her dedication as a peer leader then eventual Aedile of House Excidium, we would not be as far along as we are. This is a well earned award en route towards Equite II.

Since her last recognition, Alara has participated in 29 competitions, (co)organized 8 competitions, finished 4 ACC Battles, penned 6 Fiction Activities (14618 words!), passed 8 Shadow Academy courses, and earned 2 Dark Side Degrees. In that same period of time, she has collected numerous awards: 10 Crescents (2 Cr-D, 3 Cr-R, 3 Cr-S, 1 Cr-E, 1 Cr-Q), 43 Clusters of Ice and 11 Clusters of Graphite. In addition, Alara has recently taken up the post of Aedile of House Excidium. For over a month, she has been an eager student and proponent for change within the House. She leads from the front lines, creating google-docs for every task we set out to complete (March & April House competitions, March Fiction Updates 1 & 2, etc). Her participation and activity in bringing these projects to fruition is very promising for a future Quaestor in our club. With her personal contributions, ability to get others involved, and proofreading... we have penned over 15 pages of House Fiction for our members in just over 30 days! Add this to an already impressive list of things she does as an Aedile: works side-by-side with the members of our Battle Team (tackling issues and helping refine competitions/projects with their leaders Shadow and Kylex), establishing research and sharing it with others for a new Battle Team (another g-doc and several pages of notes/in-depth review of their proposed direction), and her willingness to participate in the ACC and encourage others to participate, too.

Alara, I am humbled by your determination and grit as a new leader in our Clan. You openly push your members with the natural finesse of a mother hen - driving them towards the best versions of themselves. The amount of tasks you complete and your time management gets better with each week. I hope this award lets you know how much I need you and how proud I am of your development thus far.

Additional reasons: I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Alara Deathbane’s dedication to the Character Development Workshop. The CDW is a tool used within Scholae Palatinae to guide our members through character development exercises in the form of competitions that encourage members to think about the deeper aspects of their characters. Since December, she has helped in planning and running no more than seven (7) unique competitions. The Fire Within, The Devil, Through the Lens of IC, The Tower, **The Star, and The Fool. She has proved a fantastic grader - who’s observations into the writing of our members has proven invaluable in the running of the CDW.

Additional reasons: Privateer Vosiri Lightscrest Joined Devil’s Shroud in June of last year, shortly afterwards he took a hiatus of six months, coming back into activity in January of 2017. Since that time he has been very active in Telegram and even earning himself a scroll of indoctrination for a recruit.

As his Battleteam Leader, I must say that I am impressed with what I have seen of Vosiri so far. With his return to “active duty” one of the first things that he did was contact me and say hi along with that he asked what he could do to help out. He has even offered to be the “hand to hand” instructor for the Battleteam as he is a master martial artist.

Since his last recognition several years ago, December 31, 2014 to be exact, Vosiri has organised two competitions and participated in twenty-five more, earning him a total of six crescents. One Amethyst, three Sapphire, One Emerald, and One Topaz. He has also earned twelve Clusters of Fire, two Clusters of Ice, and One Legion of the Scholar.

Vosiri is very active in Telegram. He has passed ten courses in the Shadow Academy and has done three fiction competitions for a total of twelve thousand and four words.

Last but certainly not least, we must not forget that he has also received a Seal of Loyalty for his allegiance and consistent service to the Brotherhood.

With Vosiri’s activity level, his recruitment of a new member, and his willingness to help out, I feel that Vosiri is deserving of an Anteian Cross.
