All to often over the last few years when the question “Who da man?” is asked within Clan Plagueis the answer we’re left with is “Eiko”. He served as an integral part of the rebuilding process that started in late 2012 that lead to Plagueis’s victory in the Dark Crusade. After some time away, he was once again instrumental in building Plagueis up to even greater heights when he returned just over a year ago. Since his last promotion in 2013, he continued to succeeded in general activity, made contributions to his Clan as a leader, and looked to work towards the betterment of the Brotherhood as a whole in service to the Dark Council.

Individually, Eiko has participated in 90 competitions since his last elevation. Those entries have focused on the times his Clan has needed him the most: 10 entries during the Dark Crusade (netting him 10 Seals of the Crusader), 7 entries during our Restoration: Ascendant feud, 8 entries during our Forged Alliances event with Tarentum, 4 entries during the Light & Dark vendetta against Odan-Urr, and 22 during the Plagueis Pro Bowl feud. His placements in those competitions have left him with 18 placements and the competitive awards that go with them: 2 Silver Novae, 2 Bronze Novae, 2 Ruby Crescents, 5 Amethyst Crescents, 5 Sapphire Crescents, and 2 Emerald Crescents. Additionally, he has collected 8 Clusters of Fire and 11 Clusters of Ice. He has also completed 7 Shadow Academy courses and earned his Dark Maven - Legends degree.

More important than his individual achievements, however, has been his leadership. Eiko’s work as then-House Plagueis’s Rollmaster was critical in paving the way for the success that we’ve seen in the time since. In Plagueis, Rollmaster is one of the most important positions as it is focused on increasing the engagement of new members to try to ensure they make the transition from wide-eyed rookies to active veterans. Eiko did the job admirably, guiding the new members that served as our core in the Post-Crusade times as Rollmaster for 4 months after his promotion. His monthly reports were all meaty sources of information with his charges, and his personal email correspondence with all of them made sure that none of them felt isolated or overlooked. After his return, he would go on to spend 2 months as a Battle Team Leader to continue his mentorship. Then, he stepped into the roll of House Karness Muur Quaestor for the next 5 months. He took over a unit that had historically done far less well than it’s companion House and turned it the better of the two. He published his monthly reports without fail, engaged with his members often, and mentored his subordinates and guided them with his vast experience in DB leadership. He also stepped up and created the Clan Plagueis Run On to serve as an ongoing venue for Plagueis members to have a creative outlet as well as become more engaged with their clanmates, once again building our community in a tangible way. Overall, Eiko has also organized 15 individual competitions while serving as co-organizer on 2 more. In both past and present, Eiko has served as the sort of leader that Clan Plagueis could not have survived without. Outside of Plagueis, he spent 9 months in service to the Grand Master as his Praetor. While I’m sure Muz will have more to say directly about those duties, Eiko engaged in the tracking and aggregation of data on units (such as DJK’s generated, overall competition submissions, and email and forum posting activity) for use in the audits of the units for the Grand Master during his time there in addition to other work enumerated below.

Eiko’s work has been singled out for recognition over the last year, first with a Grand Cross of the Dark Side and, more recently, a Steel Cross two months ago. Additionally, he was awarded a Scroll of the Master for helping Shadowkind reach the rank of Knight as well as a Scroll of Indoctrination for the recruitment of Destin Oceanfel (a member that went to Odan-Urr, showing Eiko not to be a “homer”, but instead a member dedicated to grow the Brotherhood as a whole).

Eiko has been a major reason why Clan Plaguies is in the position it is today, still succeeding three years on down the line from when he was first making contributions. I’m glad to have the privilege to be the one putting him forward for his promotion to Equite 3 and the rank of Seer.

Proconsul, Clan Plagueis

Additional reasons

Eiko has a storied history in the Brotherhood that is streaked with fantastic participation and an amazing presence. As an Equite, Eiko has led the charge in activity once again, participating in 22 events for the Clan Plagueis Pro Bowl. He is a shining example of what an Equite should be: someone who can lead the charge in terms of participation and quality submissions in events which sets a great example for other members to follow, and a demeanour that is open and meaningful to other members. He can balance the participation that is key to the success of any event with the ability to have fun doing it, and this is an infectious combination that I am sure others are keen to strive towards. For this, Eiko is deserving of this promotion, a fitting next step into the Equite ranks and his journey in this Brotherhood.

Congratulations, Eiko, and thanks for your amazing work.

Aedile, House Karness Muur

, 2016-06-27 17:29:35 UTC

I've known Eiko since he joined the Brotherhood. Eiko was one of the only Journeymen to be raised from nothing to Knight entirely within Revan. To this day, he still embodies the very spirit that made Revan so powerful in its short time alive.

Since his last promotion, Eiko served as a Praetor to Grand Master Muz Ashen for nine months. During that time frame, he completed his role as Master to his own apprentice, Shadowkind.

He also earned several novae while in Plagueis and greatly contributed to our success in the Crusade.

We were saddened to see him return to real life, after having served as an exceptional Rollmaster to myself while I was Quaestor. There were many times where he not only provided direct guidance to myself and my Aediles, he also was instrumental in helping to garner participation from the membership. His emails would serve not only as personal motivational notes to the members, but often offered assistance in proofing and conceptualization. Without Eiko, our early wins in the Crusade would have been much harder. His consistent presence on IRC was very much felt on IRC during his tenure, and missed when he left his position as Rollmaster and resumed normal membership, distracted as he was by life beyond the screen.

I was very pleased to find that real life allowed Eiko to return to Plagueis in July of last year. He joined House Ajunta Pall, and quickly resumed being the caring and friendly person I remembered fondly. It was only natural that his time among us would once again lead him into leadership.

His Grand Cross from August of 2015 does an excellent job of summarizing what makes him so valuable to his unit and to the Brotherhood.

After that, he was offered and accepted a service roll as Battleteam leaded for the Apostles of Syn. While I was sad to see him leave Ajunta Pall, I was pleased that he was able to return to mentoring others and helping them grow. It wasn't even a month before the Summit shuffle saw him tapped to become the Quaestor of the House he'd so recently joined.

During his 7 month tenure as Quaestor, he routinely put out reports. The reports show that he routinely recognized his members and set out to enrich Karness Murr's lore and wiki presence. He worked with his membership to constantly keep the Apostles of Syn full and fully functioning. He also worked to help encourage his membership to participate and grow.

During his tenure he not only successfully inspired his charges to coming within a hair's breadth of overthrowing the other House as the the best of the two in Plagueis, he also helped co-organize and execute the on going(!) Tides of Darkness Run On that Plagueis is using to adjust and keep current its own fictional reactions to the goings-on in our universe.

Eiko is the Epitome of what it means to be an Equite. He leads by example. He gives his time and his effort to raise up others so that they may join him where he is at. He is a friend to all, an enemy to none, and widely respected for his contributions to Plagueis and the Dark Brotherhood. I hope that he receives this in knowledge that this elevation has been a long time coming. While delayed by real life, it is well and truly earned.

Congrats Eiko. I'm glad to welcome you to Equite 3.

Quaestor Emeritus, House Plagueis

Reaver Tra'an Reith di Plagia, 2016-06-27 17:30:23 UTC

His many roles in the Brotherhood bear testament to Eiko’s commitment to the club. A steadfast and loyal member, he has proven himself many times over and excels in leadership. I hear so much about him from other members and have had the pleasure of talking to him a few times on Telegram, where he is a constant presence. Exemplary doesn’t begin to describe him, as he turns his hand to everything that comes his way. Loyal, trustworthy and dependable, Eiko deserves recognition for a job well done. The rise through the Equite ranks is not an easy one, but one in this case that i think befits the member. Nice job, Eiko. It’s great knowing you and always a pleasure to work with you.

Envoy Taranae Rhode, 2016-06-27 17:27:40 UTC

Eiko has been an exemplary member in everything he’s done. He’s had a long career and has served faithfully in many different positions. In his three years as an Equite, he’s served as Rollmaster, Praetor to the Grand Master, a Battleteam Leader, and most recently Quaestor. He’s also kept the Plagueis Run-on going for quite a while. He’s not always able to be present everyday, but is an awesome presence to have around that everyone loves and respects. I’m grateful for the chance that I had to have him as my Quaestor, and I’m grateful now for the opportunity to recommend him to the rank of EQ3.

Battle Team Leader, Apostles of Syn

Abadeer Taasii, 2016-06-27 17:28:57 UTC

I came to Plagueis, new-blood and ill-trained in the art of true leadership. During that time I watched my superiors, hoping to gain some insight into how to be a good leader. One of the leaders I watched carefully was Eiko. He has been a great leader, doing all he could to make sure the journeymen were learning and achieving glory for Plagueis. All while still remaining humble. A great example is his help in directing the current Clan Run-on. He has mentioned at times that he does not consider himself a great writer, but that did not stop him from stepping forward and guiding myself and other journeymen through a fun and captivating story line between events.

An important aspect of leadership is presence, one which Eiko has taken to heart. Awhile back he had to step down from his leadership position due to his life schedule, but regardless he took part in what activities he could and showed his dedication to Plagueis and its members.

Eiko has helped to inspire me to be as great a leader as I can, and I know he has affected more just the same. A promotion well-earned and deserved. Thank you for your tutelage, Eiko!

Battle Team Leader, Disciples of Dreypa

Kul'tak Drol, 2016-06-27 18:01:33 UTC

Eiko has been a really strong and active member since I first joined, so he definitely set a good example for me as I was learning the ropes. He’s always got something to add to the telegram chat, and I’ve been very pleased to have the chance of getting to know him these last five months! He’s also been an excellent example that I’ve looked up to as I’ve started leadership. When I first started he was in a leadership position and that was one of the first things I thought of when I started my own leadership journey. All in all, Eiko is a great guy and we’re lucky to have him in the clan!

Eiko, well, I don't know what else to say other than that he's utterly deserving in this promotion. He's been an amazing and active member as long as I've known him. When I joined the Brotherhood, he was one of the people that helped mentor me into the member I am today. Eiko has always been calm and level headed and helped me whenever I needed it and I've seen him do the same for many others. Good work sir and I hope to see much much more.

Quaestor, House Ajunta Pall

Grand Inquisitor Arden Karn di Plagia, 2016-06-28 00:24:24 UTC

You could search far and wide and not find a better leader and member than Eiko. Eiko has served at literally every level within this club. Quaestor, Rollmaster, Praetor to the Grand Master , Eiko has literally done everything except serve on the DC.

With those experiences comes a wealth of knowledge that he shares with each and every person he interacts with. My own personal interaction with him is all the proof necessary outside of the standard statistics: When I assumed the role of Quaestor of House Ajunta Pall, Eiko was there to help me through the process. When tasked to come up with an idea for a fiction run-on, Eiko was there to teach me not only how to operate a run-on, but to help me craft guiding fiction updates that kept the event moving. He provided assistance with almost anything I needed, and he did so not with an air of superiority inherent in many experience members of the club; Eiko took the time to guide and develop me in a way that allowed me to have the confidence to run not only fiction events, but full-scale clan-wide events as well.

I couldn't have asked for a better battle-buddy to serve as Quaestor with. Drac-pool and Eikoschach!

Congratulations on your elevation to Equite 3. You have more than earned it, brother.

Drac

Rollmaster, Clan Plagueis

Master Dracaryis, 2016-06-28 00:25:13 UTC

While I have taken quite some time off from the Brotherhood, my experiences with Eiko have been fruitful, enjoyable, and invigorating. I was fortunate to work with him directly upon first joining Plagueis a couple of years back, when he was Rollmaster of the House. We were able to collaborate on multiple award-winning run-ons and fictional projects, which bolstered Plagueis's standards of storytelling and the enhancement of its lore. Plagueis became stronger not just in a fictional sense, but also in a team-building sense - we all dipped our toes into the unit-constructing waters, and Eiko helped some of us learn how to swim. Every time we worked together, he had an extraordinary sense of diplomacy, a calm and cool demeanor toward creative differences, and a true determination to support Brotherhood members who were either new or struggling to find their appropriate roles in not just the unit, but also the club as a whole.

I found Eiko to be, among other things, a tremendous mentor and inspiration for Plagueis's newcomers and beginning Journeymen. His incredible amount of patience and meticulousness toward managing the progress of our growing base of writers and gamers proved extremely beneficial toward the success of not just our group, but also separate individuals who never felt like they had a chance at writing a good story, playing a good round of games, or serving as a strong leader. Even though I am only just returning to the Brotherhood as a semi-regular member, I will always look back on the work I did with Eiko with fondness and gratitude.

- Ronovi Tavisaen

Quaestor Emeritus, House Plagueis

General Ronovi Tavisaen, 2016-06-28 03:33:46 UTC

When I first joined Plagueis, shortly after joining the Brotherhood, Eiko was the Rollmaster of House Plagueis. Eiko was critical in my transition into the Brotherhood; while I was familiar with leadership and management in online organizations each had their own flavor, and Eiko was someone I found extremely accommodating in acclimating me to my new surroundings. My earliest interactions with Eiko were important: I found him to be helpful, wise, and someone who went out of their way to assist anyone else in the organization

Fast forward to now. Eiko is still that same person. Since returning from his haitus from the Brotherhood, Eiko jumped right back into a mentor role within Plagueis. He was recently a quaestor within Plagueis, but even before that he was looking for something to help out the membership. Almost immediately after he returned he mentioned to me the possibility of running a Clan Run-On. Something for the members to polish their writing skills, for him to help assess and improve their writing skills, and for them to interact with one another and the Clan Summit on a fictional level.

This is just one example of the type of things Eiko has done for Plagueis (as many others have been covered already). That is why I’m more than excited to recommend him for promotion to EQ3. He’s proven time and time again to me, both as a new member of the Brotherhood, and now as the Consul of Clan Plagueis, that he is a formidable mentor: exactly what we look for in the upper echelons of the equite ranks.

Congratulations, Eiko. Your contributions are many, and your service has been amazing.

Consul, Clan Plagueis

Teylas Ramar, 2016-06-30 13:24:02 UTC

It has been a few years, but the work Eiko did back then still stands out in my mind. Having taken up the mantle of leadership after several heavy hitters left the newly formed Independent house, Eiko had rather large shoes to fill. Rather than dither about, he actually took to the field with a defined plan and a set of good advisers. For a younger member to step up in such a drastic way was pretty unheard of back then. And while House Revan may not have stood the test of time due to myriad factors, I can say with some authority that it was not due in any part to a lack on Eiko's behalf. After the closure of the house, I took him on as my praetor, where he served as my right hand for almost a year, intrinsically involved in several projects that the Dark Council and I were juggling at the time. His work was always top notch, pulling from different sources to accomplish the goals at hand. As a leader, he was good, preferring to lead from the trenches, as I have spoken about at length before. He was never afraid to do what he asked others to do, which I feel is one of the marks that separates leaders from managers. Sadly, real Life took him away from us before I had the chance to promote him, but it seems that the universe has given me a second chance to commend him for his hard work. Thank you again, Eiko.

Since he was last recognized following our Restoration clan event last summer, Eiko stepped up to make lasting contributions (again!) to Clan Plagueis. In the realms of both personal activity and leadership, Eiko has navigated a schedule that left his availability limited to still put up levels of accomplishment that most would be jealous of.

Shortly after Restoration, Eiko stepped into leadership: First as a Battleteam Leader, and then quickly into the role of Quaestor of House Karness Muur. He brought the perspective of the old days of House Revan to the table as well as years of experience, all of which made the transition from his long serving predecessor Callus Bo’Amar far smoother than we had expected when we were faced with the daunting prospect of finding a replacement. Eiko was able to not just maintain the success that Karness Muur had seen, he was able to build on it further. It’s no secret that Karness Muur had always been the “lesser” house in Plagueis, consistently finishing behind Ajunta Pall throughout the Dark Crusade, Fading Light, and Great Jedi War XI. This culminated in HKM being outscored 1048.3 to 1791.96 in last year’s Restoration event against Ajunta Pall. Eiko’s efforts over his tenure really lead to a renaissance for HKM, and it really showed during Between Dark and Light. HKM only trailed HAP by four total entries (54 - 58) and five more top-three placements than HAP (13 vs 8). This is the first time since the two houses were founded (originally as battle teams) where Karness Muur has ever outscored Ajunta Pall on any competitive metric, and without Eiko’s guidance none of that would have been possible. He never missed one report in the five months he served as Quaestor, making sure to keep all his members informed and engaged. He set up camp in our Telegram channel, passing out guidance to his charges (and those of Ajunta Pall for good measure) whenever he could. Even more importantly, he brought the idea for a clan-wide, ongoing run on (The Tides of Darkness) to the leadership and then worked diligently with his then-colleague Dracaryis to bring the event to fruition. This event has gone on to be one of the most popular activities in Plagueis, and Eiko has agreed to continue to ride herd on it even with his recent retirement from Quaestor.

Individually, Eiko has kept his competitive juices flowing. He has co-organized one while participating in seventeen, and he earned for crescents for his efforts (one ruby, two amethyst, and one sapphire). Four of his entries came during our recent clan feud with Odan-Urr where he made important contributions to our second place battleplan entry as well as earning a ninth place finish in the prologue puzzle. He also recruited a member to the Dark Brotherhood and, even though he didn’t join Plagueis (that filthy lightie!) we don’t hold that against Eiko, as attempts to grow the club as a whole are more important than Plagueian Hegemony.

In short, Eiko has been by far the best leader of Karness Muur that our unit has ever seen, and the entire leadership staff is happy that he’s going to stick around the place now that his tenure as Quaestor is completed. He’s done so much for our Clan over the past months that the mind boggles, but we hope that this award at least can show a portion of our gratitude.

Additional reasons

Being the Aedile of a former Quaestor that has left such an impact on House Karness Muur and Clan Plagueis was a daunting task. However, thougg Eiko's personal life ate up more time than he would like, he made the transition for me as his second as smootg as possible.

Eiko leads by example, participating in events with vigour and a fun attitude, while also managing the administration of day-to-day House activities. From a passion for writing he created the Clan Run-On, and his passion for the Clan and wider Brotherhood as a whole brought out the best in members under his purview.

No real words can describe his impact on the House and Clan that hasn't been touched upon, so all I can say is well done, and thank you.

, 2016-04-27 21:02:45 UTC

Ah Eiko, my former Quaestor Battle Buddy! Team Dracpool and Eikoschach! There is so much that can be said about Eiko, and I'm glad that Slags went ahead and said most of it already. Eiko is one of the Clan's absolute best: he cares for his members, he works tirelessly to ensure they are provided with activity, and he does it all with a sense of quiet humility that only very seasoned leaders can execute. Under his leadership, House Karness Muur has thrived, both in activity and membership. He creates opportunities for his members through competitions, and one of the most successful clan-wide run-ons Plagueis has seen in an incredibly long time. Eiko always took the time to lend me his ear when I needed advice as Quaestor of House Ajunta Pall, and I can honestly say that without his help, I'd probably have (unintentionally) burned that place to the ground. He agreed with me that the "us vs. them" mentality that had existed between the two houses for so long needed to be eliminated, and was always willing to work with me for the betterment not just of his house, but for mine as well.

If this Clan (and the DB as a whole) was filled with leaders like Eiko, the club (and the world) would be a better place!

Congrats, Eiko. You have more than earned this!
