Since his Knighting, Karran has been attacking the DJB with all the ferocity and prowess of a Zabrak warrior. In that short time, he’s accrued over 160 competition participations as well as organized one of his own. For his efforts, he’s received 11 Crescents and 68 Clusters, of which a frankly staggering 42(!) have been of the frosty Ice variety. Clearly, our resident Horny Captain has some writing muscles to flex!

He’s so far been recognized for his outstanding efforts in all walks of DJB life by a Steel Cross, and in the last GJW he smash-and-grabbed a Gold and Silver Nova, as well as 13 Seals of Discord. But to think he’s all brawn and no brain would be a fatal mistake, one which his ACC foes (all 5 of them) must surely have regretted making. For he has passed 25 SA courses and earned a pair of degrees, showing that he studies as hard as he fights, always seeking to improve and build upon theory with practice, truly a laudable mentality!

When I hired Karran to be BTL of Voidbreaker, I was at first a little hesitant to bring in someone from outside the BT. So many things speak for “internal hiring”, yet I and my fellow Summiters were very impressed by Karran’s resumé, interview, and spirit. He clearly had a vision and a passion to make something truly outstanding out of our BT and now with four months of hindsight, I cannot be happier with the choice.

Karran has truly excelled in his task, engaging daily and actively with his team. Bantering here, helping out there, chipping in with House plans over yonder and managing to run weekly RP sessions for the entire madhouse seemingly all at once! Karran is an outstanding Battleteam Leader and he leads by example, always engaging everyone and making sure the team plays together without taking center stage.

When a member reaches Knighthood, it is a testament of learning. When they reach Equite, it is a testament of understanding. And I can confidently say that Karran has understood what the DJB and Arcona all are about, and he’s left his mark on all of us. That is, in my eyes, the fundamental for being promoted to Equite 1.

Joining the ranks of the Equite’s is an important step within this club. It shows a level of dedication to your Clan and to the DJB as a whole that goes above and beyond the call of duty for the average member. It shows a willingness to step forward and lead instead of merely following.

Karran has more than earned his place as an EQ1. His work as Voidbreaker BTL has been nothing but exceptional and his leadership with the weekend RP sessions for HQD has everything running smoothly and enjoyably. He is a passionate and hardworking member who has long deserved this promotion.

Karran I want to thank you for your excellence and willingness to work. You are an inspiration to all of us and I am proud to call you a fellow Arconan. I look forward to what you do in the future and I know you shall go far in this club.

Although it is his first leadership position in the Brotherhood, Karran has been nothing but inspirational in his continued and steadfast efforts, willingness to help and learn, presence, and strength. There is, very literally, not a day that goes by that I have not witnessed him being our true definition of a leader; encouraging his teammates and clanmates through any sort of troubles; making them aware of and helping them to participate in competitions and ACC matches with a tireless vigor lead by his own example; running near-constant chat-based RPs amongst his team to develop character fiction and encourage club-based writing while using the CS system; fictionally defining and working to worldbuild and wikify his Battle Team and House as they adapt to new storylines and systems; and constantly working to support his fellow summit members not only in his House but across his Clan, participating in discussions, planning, troubleshooting, following up on and reminding of projects and deadlines, and contributing to development for Arcona's fictional future. If a member wants to write or try the ACC where they never have before, he is there. If they need to talk, or seem even the slightest bit off, he is reaching out. If work needs done, he volunteers first. He is tireless in his efforts and asks only to be allowed to help more.

Karran may be a junior leader on this roster, but he has been, definitively, the best up and coming leader we have been lucky to have in this club in quite some time, and there is no one else I'd rather continue to follow in his future endeavors. Thanks for inspiring even the tired of us, Karran, and congratulations. You have more than earned this.
