It’s been less than a month since Grycym entered Qel-Droma and it’s been an absolute pleasure every day to have him as part of our House. I’m inspired by Grycym’s activity, my inbox is regularly pinged by achievements bearing his name and it’s been great having him as part of our ragtag group on Discord.

Since his last award, Grycym has participated in a regular competition, completed 11 Shadow Academy courses, obtained 2 Shadow Academy degrees, earned 2250 credits for Arcona, completed 2 society rank ups, and obtained a Seal of Loyalty for activity this year in the DB’s 30th anniversary. All of this has contributed to the 450 medal XP needed for an Anteian Cross!

This will be Grycym’s first AC, congratulations! I could tell you, Grycym, about the history of this award and how it has changed over the years but I’ll spare you the lecture and focus on this part: this award has traditionally been given to those that have shown consistent and dedicated service to one’s Battleteam or House. You have done this already with your activity to date and I look forward to both seeing your continued success and joining you in the team activities that will lead you to your next advancement. Every year on May 4th, we award Seals of Loyalty to members nominated by the DC and Consuls--typically one per DC, two per CON. Normally I would have asked for those nominations last week, but this year we're doing something different. In November 2015 (we used to do SoLs twice a year), eagerly awaiting the release of The Force Awakens, Sarin awarded SoLs to all Clanned and positioned members in the club. This year, we're taking a page out of Sarin's book: every member of the club who has logged into the website between January 1, 2025 and May 4, 2025 will receive a Seal of Loyalty. That this club has not just lasted but thrived for 30 years is a remarkable testament to our community, the leaders at all levels who have kept the ship on course, and especially our members who keep engaging year after year. GЯYᑕYM has wasted little time since arriving in Arcona with tackling the Shadow Academy, and has earned his first pundit after completing seven courses already! While the terminology and set up of the DJB can be pretty expansive, he's already on the path towards learning the ropes and we're excited to see him continue to learn and grow here! He has also started to engage with his fellow Arconans and hopefully that will help with getting to know not just the DB sandbox, but our small corner of it as well!
