Primary reason: This award completes Mako’s collection of merit crosses within the Brotherhood. And it is a fitting one as the Steel Cross represents what it is to be a role model for others and a leader to his Clan and House.

Mako served a very successful term as Clan Roll Master: welcoming members, inducting them into the Brotherhood, and pairing them with their Masters. For his hard work, he was awarded the position of Aedile of Galeres. During his time as Aedile, Mako continued his work with new members (refining his welcome letters, progression e-mails, and contact methods), He sent these e-mails once a week to each Journeyman and an additional e-mail to each Master (to follow-up on their progress with their Student) before reporting his findings to the Clan Summit. He helped in the training of his eventual replacement Ernordeth, and helped brainstorm a future four (4) competition House event “Galeres’ Gladiators”. All before real life commitments tore him from a position he earned through hard work and dedication to Arcona.

As an individual member, Mako is a fantastic source of activity. He has submitted to 17 competitions, submitted 41 PvE activities (Destiny, ftw!), racked up 123 Clusters of Fire, 228 Clusters of Earth, 28 Clusters of Ice, 2 Pendants of Blood, 3 Crescents (1 Cr-E, 2 Cr-T), and ran one mobile gaming competition for the entire Brotherhood (Mobile Gaming: Cytus). In addition, Nighthawk (Battle Team) is a living and breathing sub-unit within Arcona. The fiction and story evolves with the members and Mako is a part of this unique story and comradery through WhatsApp and Telegram; he helps with the fictional development (story and future competitions) and ‘fleshing out’ the Nighthawk through his participation.

Additional reasons: Mako has been one of those members that keeps true to his interests and tries his best to expand on those skills he isn't the best at. He brings that dedication and drive to not only bettering himself, but to also better those around him. When he served as Arcona's Rollmaster, he was always reaching out to the Masters and Students to ensure a proper pairing was achieved and continued to follow up to create a positive environment for our junior members to grow within. From countless documents within Google Drive to the even higher number of emails, he was a shining star to our leadership system.

When he stepped down and rose up to the position of Aedile of Galeres, he brought that same dedication to the House Summit. While he did not serve as long as one could have wished, he left his successor with a folder filled with projects and proposals that were later expanded upon, one being the Galeres Gladiators competition. He was not directly involved with it's creation, but the multi-event set up was expanded upon from one of his documents to create a very well received series of competitions. He also assisted in the creation of a new house mailer and checked daily to ensure it was kept up to date so that no member would miss out on important information passed on from the Summit.

Mako continues to impress as a member of the Nighthawk, a constant source of gaming activity. His presence on Telegram and IRC are near constants as well. With 21 comps under his belt and several hundred Clusters, Sight has been keeping active even with real life beating him about. He's been a great source of information as the former Commander of the Nighthawk team on where to go with the fictional developments of the team. My job is easier with Mako around for sure, and his dedication to the Nighthawk and Galeres is beyond admirable.
