Consul Report

Once again, it's that time for another round of interesting and superfluous news from.... me! Yep, I know. I love me too. Heh. Just kidding a little, trying to keep a chipper attitude. I must apologize for the lateness of the report. As some of you know, I've been fighting off a cold for the last 10 days, about, and I think I'm convinced it's been the flu. I wasn't able to get the report out last night because, quite honestly, I barely had the energy to crawl to my bed. Here's hoping for little miracles, and Sithie getting better SOON. I don't know about anyone else, but I hate being sick.

And now, for the latest and greatest, we turn to Tarentum news! Of course we turnt o us. Tarentum IS the greatest. I hope you all realize that, because, as I've had opportunity to serve with you all, and enjoy myself within this Clan, I've realized, if we all work together, and work to our potential, no one can stop us. This is all about fun, and expressing ourselves creatively, and just really taking the time to do something enjoyable with other like-minded individuals. We all dig Star Wars, and I can truly say, I like each and every one of you. This Clan has some of my closest friends online, and I hope we can all allow ourselves to keep having fun, and to press our own activity when possible.

News from across the DB is that the clones are being obliterated in one mass sacrificial ritual. Nooooo! I have a clone, and he's so nice! heh, kidding. Actually, it's because the Dark Council wants to have correct member counts, that don't get inflated in a manner reminiscent of the EH, and they also want to make sure everyone knows, it doesn't really matter what Order you're in, you can pretty much do anything. The Order you choose is the Order you want to spend most of your active time in, but beyond that, no one is going to stop you from participating in other stuff, and having fun where you wish to find it.

News from across Tarentum is that people are getting LOTS of medals. Everybody is doing a good job in keeing themselves active, and participating, and I'd like to commend you all for that. There were also some noteworthy promotions. Welshman was promoted to Guardian, Rekio was promoted to Sith Warmaster, and Ember and Legion were promoted to Novice. Another honor bestowed upon two of our own was, as you may have read on the DB site, Oberst and Telona, who have given tremendous effort to the Clan in times recent and in the past, were given the name of Tarentae. The honor of being called by the Clan's name is one that everyone will come to recognize as a mark of loyalty, dedication, and sincere effort. Each one of you can earn that right, and I will be watching for others who deserve the right to bear that honor.

For those of you Apprentices looking to be promoted to Novice, the only thing you need to do is complete your character history on the DB site. It's a pretty easy task, and really only takes 15 minutes, for a decent history, but more time can be spent, depending upon the detail you wish to add about your character's life. I'd remind you all that this is one of the base methods of other people finding information about your persona, so whatever you want people to know, put it there. To do this, you need to log into the DB site, scroll down to "Edit Your History," which is under the General Admin. options, and you can complete it through there. House Summits, and team leaders, let's keep an eye upon Apprentices daily, to see when people are completing this. I noticed today that Apprentice Alttari has completed his, and Alttari, you will be promoted to Novice for completing it, and I congratulate you for your efforts.

I'm working on a couple of things, one which will be a welcome letter to all new people, which will introduce them to Tarentum fictionally, but which will also contain helpful information for people about the DB, but particularly Clan Tarentum, and whichever House within Tarentum that people will join. I apologize to those recently new to the Clan who did not receive any information as such, an during this week, as I finish this welcome letter, I will be sending it here, along the mailing list, so that everyone can have the information, but so that you can also give me suggestions about other things that might be good to put in it. I'm also working on the system and planetary info for the Yridia system, and I'll put that up on the Clan website, and post a link to it, when I'm finished. I think it will help people alot to have a point from which to move forward from, and I'm hoping the welcome letter, the system info, and each of you helping each other out will fill that role.

As a final matter, my Keepers competition is running through the end of the year. I gave the time limit as such so that everyone can have the time to work on one event, or all events, and still not feel overburdened witheverything else that happens in life. The Keepers are going to become a very important aspect of Tarentum history, and will be one of the things that becomes reoccuring, in that I want this to provide activity and interest on every level we can add it to. The details of the Keepers Comp can be found at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Clan_Tarentum/message/98 or

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/viewreport.asp?ID=4899

I figured I'd add it into my reports section, in case people can't view it on the Yahoo Groups page.

And that's going to be it for this week, Tarentum. I'm continually proud to be your Consul, and to be able to serve you. I hope that we can all make this Clan something that we can be proud of, and that we can enjoy ourselves as we participate. Remember the weekly comps for MP, the Tuesday Night Showdown in #GMRG, the Thursday Night Bash in #obelisk, and the ICTE on Saturdays in #outerrim. All of these events take place on the IRC Undernet. If you have an IRC client, you can come check it out, and hang out with people. If you don't have an IRC client, a popular and easy-to-use client is mIRC, which is a free downladed product at http://www.mirc.com or you can use the DB Java Applet. The DB IRC applet is located at:

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/irc.asp

It's right at the top where it says: "What is IRC?

IRC, short for Internet Relay Chat, offers a world-wide multi-user chat network, where people meet to talk in groups, or privately. The best place to start for information on IRC is at the mIRC homepage.

In addition, the Brotherhood IRC channel can now be reached here on the website. Click here to enter."

Just click on the word "here," and it'll automatically load. Anyways, I'll end it there. Until next time, everyone. Let's rock this place, Tarentum.
