Greetings, all.

There are quite a few things I would like to touch upon, and hopefully I am not going over anything that might later be mentioned in a full Clan report.

-=Topic #1: GJW=-

Chapter 3 is over. Chapter 4 is reportedly to begin soon, and that will signal the home stretch for this rather lengthy Great Jedi War. It is nearly over, everyone.

I want to thank everyone for your continuing efforts in this conflict. Our participation numbers are holding steady; could be better, as always, but I would always prefer to see “steady” over “falling.” I realize many of you are going to be starting your terms in school soon; some of you already have. In whatever downtime you have, please give a passing thought to doing an event or two in Chapter 4. Thank you!

-=Topic #2: Orders.=-

there are a number of potential changes coming not only to the DB as a whole, but also to Clan Arcona in particular. One of these changes is something that has “technically” true for some time, but not as effectively clarified as I think it might have been:

Membership in an Order is not determined by the way in which you choose to participate.

You can be a Sith and just write. You can be a Krath that plays Jedi Academy. Read the Order descriptions as written in the Dark Side Compendium:

Which of those three better fits with your character? Maybe it ends up being the same as you currently are. Maybe it is different. Maybe being a Sith just sounds better to you than being an Obelisk, or vice versa. Think about it. Change it if you want to. It is your character.

Now, will such a change move you from your current group? For the time being, yes, because that’s how the database is currently set. But that’s something else we’re discussing: how would we like Arcona to be structured?

Many issues are being hammered-out in preparation for the changes to the club that Project: Rebirth will bring. Add to that the potential influx of new members with “Revenge of the Sith” upcoming, and there are many things we would like to figure out now, before we run into problems down the line. If you have any thoughts or ideas on this, please, post them to the message board. This is one of those times (hopefully to become more a regular event) where you can have a say in what goes on in Clan Arcona.

-=Topic #3: Mailing Lists=-

Ok, I’m going to be very blunt here: quit the Spam.

Clan and House email lists are for announcements, not to be used for rolling discussions, and definitely not for one-sentence responses. If you wish to have a discussion, USE THE MESSAGEBOARDS. That is what they are there for. If you have an LoA to announce, send it only to your House List, unless you are in a summit position, then to the Clan list. If you have something you would like to discuss, open a thread on the message board and include a link to it in the initial email. The Spam =will= cease.

Now, you ask, how exactly is this edict going to be punished if violated? Well, here’s what I’m thinking:

Project: Rebirth is reportedly going to bring with it a Prestige/Credit system, where members earn points towards items, ship upgrades, etc. Well, you guessed it: I will save a copy of every unnecessary, one word, one sentence email that is Spammed to everyone from now on. And once Rebirth hits…I dunno. Maybe deduct 10 Prestige points per email? How does that sound? I’ll think about it. Regardless, you have all been warned.

-=Topic #4: Clan HQ=-

One of the projects that has been on the table for quite some time, but placed on hold due to first the Independence Games, and then the current GJW, is figuring out what our stronghold on Selen, the “Hall of Shadows,” should look like and what it should contain.

I will be opening a thread on the message boards soon after the GJW for ideas, wish lists, etc., for what our base should include. The Rokir family of architects will most probably, and with unashamed bias, undertake the bulk of the floor plan design work.

But, in the meantime, start thinking about what would be cool for our base, and get ready to post those ideas when the time comes. For now though, please aim your energies at finishing off Chapter 4 of the GJW once it is released.
