Clan Arcona Report 9/20/2004

“Light is limited, Darkness is infinite”

Greetings, all.

The tides of change are ever-flowing, and they have roared inland once more. The past week has seen much evolution in the Clan, and I will distill those events here.

Firstly, our Consul, JaM3z Lucius Entar Arconae, has been selected to take a higher role within our Brotherhood. Now as Lord Archon, he will have a direct hand in ushering in what will be the Rebirth of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. JaM3z has served Arcona loyally and well throughout his tenure. His talents, wisdom, and stalwartness have and continue to be an inspiration to me, as well as others. His leadership will soon be marked in some permanent fashion within the Arconan pantheon.

JaM3z’s appointment was not unexpected, and per the course of things I have been named to succeed him as Consul of Clan Arcona. I will explain further on that front shortly.

As a parting gesture, JaM3z has named four Arconans as “di Tenebrous Arconae,” the title that proclaims its bearer as a true and loyal Arconan, having given long and continual service to their Clan. They have thus been named: Strategos Thanatos Entar Arconae; Demosthenes Jedi-ShaFT Serpenti Arconae; Laethan Ciarus Arconae; Koskian “Psyko” d’Tana Arconae. Their names will be written into the Clan history. As well, each should contact me regarding the granting of their chosen Ritual from the Abyssal Tome.

Now then. As many of you know, there has been much discussion and debate regarding the organizational changes within Arcona. Many of these have been decided upon, as has been announced previously, and as well many have been enacted over the last week. Most notably has been the changes made to House Oriens Obscurum. With nearly a wave of his hand, Demosthenes has begun to rebuild the House from scratch, and I must say that I am most impressed with his efforts thus far.

Demos has enacted the structural model which will become the standard in Arcona: One Multi-Order House, three separate Battleteams, each of those being Order-specific.

The change from Order-specific to Multi-Order Houses is currently, and for some time will most likely be, a fluid one. Already this week has seen several House-to-House transfers of members from different Orders. These changes are expected and as well are encouraged. The time is now that each of us takes a look at where our paths in the Darkside will lead us. If the Force deems such a change for you, seek it out.

These newly created teams in the three Houses offer new and exciting opportunities for everyone: not only in personal advancement, but as well to take a part in founding a new historical milestone in Clan Arcona. For now, more than ever, what this Clan will be depends almost completely on what you as Arconans make it.

And that leads me back to myself, for there are many things that I will see enacted within this Clan as its Consul.

First, as has been in the planning for some time, the end of the Great Jedi War will see a new series of challenges of Arcona, and you specifically. The aftermath of war will bring with it a need for exploring new conquests. Already I have been in contact with the summits of all three Houses regarding these future efforts and each House’s role in them. However, the specifics must wait until such time as this current war is settled. But once that occurs, keep ready.

Also there is the matter of the construction of Arcona’s fortress on our throneworld of Selen. There is already a discussion in progress regarding this on the Clan HoloNet Channel (OOC: or messageboard if you want to be technical about it):

Additionally, I hope to soon have a set and established set of guidelines for rank advancement in Clan Arcona. Many such things have been created in the past, but I wish to set it “in stone” as soon as possible. These will include specific requirements, as well as more optional “Trials” for the higher ranks, and something special for one’s elevation to Dark Jedi Knight in particular. Gaining one’s lightsaber should not be a simple matter, in my view. More on that as things progress.

And as some of you may soon notice, my being granted, as Consul, the Abyssal Tome, and my deep studies therein, has left me somewhat…marked by darkness. As such, I would remind everyone to review the two paths of Shadowcrafting:

Notify your superiors of which path you will choose to study, for that is the path on which you will remain. Rituals of the Abyssal Tome are restricted to Consuls, former Consuls, and di Tenebrous Arconae.

OOC: Stepping out of character for a moment, I would remind everyone of two notable events taking place on Tuesday:

1. The release of the Original Star Wars Trilogy on DVD, with plenty of tweaks and additions to keep things interesting

2. The release of Star Wars: Battlefront. This new game should (and will) be made into a tool of new and interesting activity for Clan Arcona. You’ll most likely be hearing a lot about this game and related activities in the coming months.

As your Consul, know that my door is always open. However, be sure to consult your immediate superior (Battleteam Leader; Aedile; Quaestor) regarding any questions or concerns first. More likely than not, they will have guidance to provide. However, if there is a matter with which you feel deserves my attention, do not hesitate to send it my way.
