Clan Tarentum Consul Report for Sunday, December 12, 2004

Well, as I come into the Finals Week for this semester, we saw the return of gaming for me. I now have a bitching new computer, fully capable of playing any of today's newest games (Half Life 2 looks awesome on it) and as soon as I hunt down all my games (or download on the ones I don't have) I'll be readying to get back into the multiplayer circuit. Though, as a side effect of having a new computer, I'm bouncing between the desktop and notebook trying to get files transferred and programs installed while not having any downtime.

The clan possessions from the GJW were finally announced this week. Tarentum has been awarded the following
possessions:

Kuat Drive Yards Imperial Escort Carrier (ESC)
Corellian Engineering Corporation Gunship (GSP)
Vibre-class Assault Cruiser (VAC)

And now they need names. So anyone with suggestions email them my way and we'll see what the best names the clan can come up with are. There isn't a deadline until Mav sets one for getting the stuff put on the OOB.

Finals suck. Yes, its that time of the year again. Probably about half of the active DB is bogged down with finals, so things are a little slow in the DB at the moment. Personally, mine are next week. They blow, not much you can do about that. If you have finals, good luck. Otherwise, be grateful.

If you've got a non-Star Wars character (elf, dragon, Saiyan, Fremen, ect.) you need to look into getting a Star Wars version approved. In some cases, there's probably already a race or species very similar. In other cases, you need to work on making your character's race/species more Star Wars and less whatever else.

This is going to be big in the ACC and probably have more meaning with all the stuff happening in Rebirth. In any case the requirements for approval where posted on the news site and submission should be sent to Kaiann.

If anyone has questions about this or wants help making sure their character is part of the Star Wars Continuity, whether through and existing race or submitting for approval, feel free to ask myself or one of the summits.

As part of Rebirth, each clan and order will have a set of powers available to them. For those that may or may not know, Tarentum's is necromancy, the power over life and death. In his report, the Grand Master released the requirements for earning these powers. The system is rather complicated and there are a lot of kinks being worked out right now. Still, you should give it a look over and see how you fair, set yourself up some goals of what you'd like to reach and then start working to make sure you get there.

News Quickies

The clan competition, Sword and Trident was released yesterday as detailed in the Proconsul's email. There are 4 events for the first half which include:

Run-on: There will be a run-on for everyone to participate in on the Tarentum Message Board. Please announce your plan to make a post before you post. If someone has plans to post do not make one yourself. Please make your post within 2 hours of your announcement and make it at least three good paragraphs long. Turn off your signatures please.

JK/JO/JA MP: Our forces on Koros need to be extracted immediately. Go get some last minute training in before you are sent in to help get them out! Send score submissions to Pyralis at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

Writing event: Document the escape from Koros by either describing how you got out with the others or how you listened in on the transmissions from the surface. Min. 1 page at 12 pt TNR or equivalent. Send submissions to Anshar at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

Security plans part 1: It is likely that we'll have to set up a perimeter around Koros. Submit either a TIE/XvT/XWA mission or
explain how we should deploy our forces to effectively cover the moon. Send submissions to myself at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

Submissions will be taken up until 11:59pm EST on December 26, 2004.

That's it for this week. For those of you working hard, keep it up. Everyone else, get motivated and get to it. The clan competition has started, should prove interesting so everyone get out there and have fun with it.
