Consul Report

Greetings, all.

As many of you have most likely noticed, I have been

somewhat more than absent of late. This has been from

a combination of things: the holidays, work, family

concerns, etc. But a good part of it, I am sorry to

report, has been a gradual decrease in my "DB-energy."

Since I returned to active duty last September, I have

gone full-bore on the DB: creating the three House

temples, revising Shadowcrafting, projects for the

Oracle, the Independance games, the Sith War, the GJW,

and projects since and inbetween. I have gone from

Tetrarch to Aedile, Aedile to Quaestor, Quaestor to

Proconsul, and then to Consul. I have been promoted

twice in the last year or so, and gained a fair number

of awards.

And yet, I've lost that spark, that drive for the DB

of late. As listed there are many factors causing

this; many of which that will not be resolved soon.

I have always ststed that in leadership, one must be,

above all else, a pragmatist: either someone is doing

their job, or they are not. If not, find someone who

can. It is a cold, emotionless philosophy, and I would

not be me if I did not hold myself to the same

standard.

Therefore, effective immediately, I submit my

resignation as Clan Consul. I recommend Al'Lan

Mandragoran as my successor, as I think he would do an

excellent job in the role and, in point of fact, has

virtually held the position since the beginning of my

withdrawl.

But as I hand off the Abyssal Tome to whomever takes

up the shadowed throne, I have a few last decrees as

Clan Consul:

  1. Nothing, neither monument or vessel, shall be given

my name in memorium. I did not hold the office of

Consul nearly long enough or, in my harsh opinion of

myself, effectively enough to be worthy of such an

honor. Let that which I leave behind, either good or

bad, be my legacy.

  1. The granting of Clan names to any worthy

individuals shall be an annual event, held at the

end of each August from this time forward. The

granting of di Tenebrous Arconae should be a special,

and relatively infrequent, occurance.

  1. I hereby claim for myself a sizable island on our

homeworld of Selen, to be known as Marr Isle. It is

where I shall keep a residence.

Though I may now retire from Consul, I do not retire

from Arcona. I will continue to make myself available

for any special projects or advice as needed. As well,

I wish to continue work on the Clan headquarters,

unless my successor chooses to delegate that task to

others.

I wish to give thanks to certain individuals for their

friendship and support of me during my eventful return

to the DB over the last year:

Sykes Rokir - first initiate of the Family Rokir and a

fine ally

Halcyon Rokir - A brother in the truest sense, Halcyon

is, by himself, a pillar of Clan Arcona and an example

to us all

al'Lan Mandragoran - He has never failed in any task

presented, and is a model for what it means to give

your "all"

Isalka Tyoun Rokir - My apprentice and confidant,

Isalka has seen me through some difficult times

Jamez Lucius Entar - my predecessor, his work for both

the Clan and the organization is often underscored,

but surely vital

Mejas Doto - a stalwart Arconan, ph33r him

Cyris Oscura - Despite an often bumpy road, none can

deny his skills and passion for and within the DB

Trevarus Caerick - my friend and teacher since my time

in the EH Senate, Trev is a quiet legend in my view,

and has my utmost respect

And to all that I have not listed, but have had a hand

in my ascensions, you know who you are. Thank you.

To all: In darkness thrive.

~Epis Vassan Rokir~

Former Consul of Clan Arcona

Praetor to the Oracle

Magistrate to the Herald
