Consul Report

Important info within...things you need to be aware of, and all that spiffy stuff.

First off, a couple DB wide annoucements. JaM3z and Cybey have both stepped down from their respective positions. Both of them are excellent coders and I've known them both for a long time. Cybey and JaM3z both started at about the same time in Qel-Droma back when I was Quaestor of that House. They were very active and enthusiastic. If you get a chance, tell them thanks.

Next, the Conflict mediation exam needs a new EP, so if you are interested, send an application to me and Spears. You must have passed the course, provide an answer key to the exam, have an e-mail turn around time of no more than 48 hours, and include anything that you might want to do to improve the exam (or, if you think it is fine, say so). Applications close January 25th.

On to clan things. The first round of the competition is over with and the second round has begun. I need to amend something to the round 2 fiction events, though. In my last e-mail, I stated that you had one week. While this is true for the gaming submissions, the fiction event will last to February 4, or two weeks. Thanks to Sato for catching that. Here are the details on the events:

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp?ID=1516 (gaming)

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp?ID=1517 (fiction)- fiction events focus on you now. Remember, you can get points just for submitting.

Also, there is an individual screen shot competition: funny or just really good action shots can be submitted at any time during the events, though no awards will be made until the final round (up to 3 submissions permitted, though you cannot win all three placings). Also, at the end, overall winners of the gaming and fiction events will receive extra crescents. Participants will also have participation credited towards merit awards, promotions, and some other awards.

A Reminder: If at any time you feel the need to comment on things in the clan or your house, do so. Come to me and tell me your thoughts on things. Give me feedback. If I don't hear anything, I can only assume that things are going well and need to stay the way they are.

Finally, for me: I will be attending a conference this Saturday, but I am leaving Friday night. So, I'll be out of touch until late Saturday evening. Depending on how tired I actually am, this may go until Sunday morning. Also, on top of this, I'm being kept plenty busy with school work (both academic and job related), so I will not likely be on IRC very much for awhile. I'm trying to stay ahead of things, but we'll see.

Have a good week,

~AK
