CNS PCON Report #1 - April 22nd, 2006
This has been quite an interesting week on the leadership front. I'll talk about that later (so you'll want to be sure to read this whole report until the end). But, it's also been a very interesting week on the activity front too. This time, I have other DB-wide topics to discuss in addition to the activity report.
Total Emails: 74 (last week it was 45)
The DB had decided to change the location of Antei on the Star Wars system map. The changes Goatham has made to Antei's location are on the map I'm either going to attach to this email or send in a separate email. He's basically given the clan some free reign as to where they want to have their system. However, after talking to Goatham (you guys who are unfamiliar are going to have to realize that when I say Goatham I mean Xanos, the Deputy Grand Master, and former Consul of this clan) about this, it seems that the Orian system (where we live) should (or must) be very close to Antei. That kinda removes a lot of the need to really debate the matter.

The fact that the systems themselves are moving does not affect the nature of the planets of their relative locations around the star or anything. Dentavii is still an asteroid, Sepros doesn't change, get what I mean? So it's really just a minor change from our perspective.
As far as I know, according to the plans there will be a set of Clan Feuds instead of a Mini-GJW. In our case, starting (probably) Monday, we will be engaged in a clan feud with Clan Plagueis and Clan Tarentum. It'll involve ACC, Gaming, and a Run-On.
I should remind you that during the Clan Feud, your energies should be focused on those events. I know there are other little competitions running in this clan. Use your head to make a judgment about where your priorities are.
We'll definately get you more information when it arrives.
It seems a lot of you are participating in the gaming events than I anticipated.
Our own Xayun got 3rd in the Sunday Tournament. There was once a time when I'd regularly place in the Sunday Tournament, but bleh. Other participants included myself, Morg, and Eldrad Sin (Happy?).
Participants in Tuesday's gaming night included Xayun, Eldrad Sin (happy again?), and Ashia Kagan. Ashia Kagan? I hope you spilled some BLOO that was not yours. Participants in Thursday's gaming night included me, Morg, Xayun, Shin'ichi, and Ashia Kagan. Participants in the last three ICTEs include Shin'ichi, me, Xayun, and sweet Morg.
Speaking of gaming, it seems we have a bunch of new members who are interesting in gaming. So, I'd like to point everybody, once again, to:

My objective isn't to get people who don't normally game or are uncomfortable gaming to play games. I want to seek out people who are good at gaming and aren't telling anybody about it.
Well, we had a total of 10 Shadow Academy courses passed by our members this week, but I don't really want to go into depth on them.
I will talk about the fact that I've been working on the Clan Naga Sadow history course. Based on the Headmaster's schedule, we'll be seeing it activated at some point.
When this course is unveiled, I'm sure people are going to look at it and say, "Oh no Manesh, this is inaccurate." Or more likely, "Manesh, you left out all of this important stuff that happened." Well, I gave you guys a billion chances to tell me what I was missing and stuff, and you didn't say much. So, what goes, goes. However, the nature of this course requires that it be updated semi-annually or something like that. And, the exam questions I wrote are fairly basic questions. Any modification to the course notes (the house and clan histories) wouldn't really affect the exam questions.
I know it's somewhat old news, but members of our clan just got their awards. During the month of March, we had a 25% APP to ACO promotion rating. That totally rocks! Because of this, Malisane, Nekura Manji, and Siyavash all got Steel Crosses. This is excellent! It's nice to know that this clan supports its newest members, the future leaders of this clan.
Well, I think the big news is that I have made it to the GMRG Open Finals in Jedi Outcast. I will be playing Lucius, once the Finals begin.
In the GMRG Gethsemane Incident competition, I got 1st place for the Battleplan event. Macron Goura got 2nd place in the "Torture Story" fiction event.
I'd like to talk about the events of the past week.
*Despite a feeling that some of you have, Korras and I are in charge of this Clan. Anybody who claims to have any authority in this clan, and doesn't, doesn't. I will continue to work to press that point.
*If you are feeling uncomfortable for any reason, particularly on IRC, you need to tell your superiors. Hell, if you're feeling uncomfortable than I probably am too. But you have to say something.
*Perhaps it's just me, but I've always had a feeling that this was a people-powered clan. It's why I don't believe in fancy made-up titles and stuff. I address Goatham as Goatham, Trev as Trev, and Muz as Muz. You can address me as Manesh. We're a group of people in an online Star wars club, and I consider you all to be a wonderful group of people, despite our occasional differences.
*I think of you guys not only as friends, but as assets to the clan. You are assets either as someone contributing to activity or during competitions, or as someone who helps contribute to that special sense of community that CNS has and (I'm told) none of the other clans posess.
*This is the DB's "nice" clan, where people are for the most part friendly, and where if people are arguing over something, I hope there's a sense of mutual respect. That means that we will not tolerate overt jackassery.
That is how I feel at least. I think these issues are behind us, for the most part, so I've gone back to stressing about the Clan Feud (coming Monday most likely) and the GJW coming later :P
