Good evening everyone,

I'm back from my 5-day trip to Vienna. It looked like it was going to be a 6-day trip where the DB was concerned, since I arrived home finding my Internet connection not working - but luckily, I managed to fix it. I won't be making any trips now for quite a while - three days to London in September or October, but that's about it where 2006 is concerned. So yes, my continuing presence here is more or less guaranteed in the next four months. :P

However, in 9 days, I'm starting my first year at the University of Amsterdam. It's great fun, of course, but it'll mean I might be a little strained for time in the first few weeks, Once I settle in, though, I expect everything to continue running smoothly again.

But enough about me. There's other Arcona news as well, namely the arrival of some new members. Firstly, I'd like to welcome OP Venquis, who has joined us to be the new Aedile of HOO. So double congratulations are in order. Secondly, I'd also like to welcome DJK Kalika and GRD Riv "Rage" Monn to Arcona. I hope you'll enjoy your stay - and stick around, of course. :)

That's right, it's still running, although it's very much nearing the end. All the more reason to put that little bit of extra effort in before it ends... and enjoy the ample rewards and relative relaxation afterwards.

7 event results were released today, and I'm pleased to announce that Arcona has distanced itself considerably from CSP, and that we're firmly in 3rd place now. We're nearly there. Keep up the good work, guys. Special congratulations go out to the following people, who managed to place in the recently graded events:

Malidir got a 1st place and a Gold Nova in the Battle of Antei: Battlefront II event!

Nadrin got a 2nd place and a Silver Nova in the Battle of Antei: Strategy Games event!

Psyko got a 2nd place and a Silver Nova in the Limited Resources invitational event!

Karel got a tied 3rd place and a Bronze Nova in the Killing Spree: Jedi Academy event!

Karel got a 4th place in the Killing Spree: Jedi Outcast event.

Psyko got a 6th place in the Battle of Antei: Battlefront II event.

Smoke got a tied 6th place in the Killing Spree: Jedi Outcast event.

Odin got an 8th place in the Field Reporter: Update II event.

Strategos got a tied 8th place in the Killing Spree: Jedi Outcast event.

Revaan got a 9th place in the Field Reporter: Update II event.

Lots and lots of placements... me likey. Out of the 74 placings these combined events had to offer, we took 17. Also, give a round of applause (or a round of drinks, which he'll probably prefer) to Malidir, since his excellent Gold Nova and the accompanying points made him Arcona's MVP again, at a 13th place overall in the individual standings.

Now, for those of you who can count, that's 31 events done and graded. What about the other 8?

These three events have all been closed, and are in the process of being graded. I hope we'll be able to see those scores before too long. Of course, when the scores are released, I'll notify you guys.

I'm unsure about this one, since I haven't really been involved in it. All I know is that it ends the 23rd, in 4 days, and that it all has to be compiled before then. So I imagine Halc is going to close it off some time soon. Watch for an update from the CON-man.

This one's closing tomorrow, and I urge everyone to participate. By experience, I know that an event like this won't draw heavy participation numbers across the DB - which is why it's an excellent opportunity for us to score some "easy" extra points. So, if you've got any form of artistic talent - or none at all, and just a good work ethic - please give this one a go. You'll be surprised at the amount of points you can get.

This is the last major points-scorer in the War, and we really need to swamp them with submissions. I've only seen 1 or 2 so far, which is disappointing... but I hope you're all working on an entry. If you aren't (I'm in the latter group myself, I must admit), get cracking. The event ends on the 23rd, in 4 days, and it's completely freeform - you'll be able to choose whichever form you like best to do your submission in. Come on guys, I'm counting on big numbers here!

And lastly, there's event #37... the "secret" event. It'll be released on the 23rd, will end on the 30th, and will be the absolute last event of this GJW. Naturally, I'll have more info once the actual event gets released.

Well, that's about it for now. I've done as much as possible to make doing the GJW events easier for you guys - the rest is up to you. Know that there will be more than ample rewards once this War is over, and that it really does pay to be active - besides, you might even win a Nova, like Malidir, Nadrin, Psyko and Karel did today!
