CNS Consul Report #12 - October 7th, 2006

I was thinking about how much more awesome this clan would be if Burt Reynolds were in it.

Total CON Emails: 24

  1. How we got our VSD

So, if you noticed, we were finally awarded with the following for our performance in the Great Jedi War:

2nd Naga Sadow

  • Victory-Class Star Destroyer (VSD)

    • Support: 12x TIE Defender, 12x Shielded TIE Interceptors, 10x AT-AT, 15x AT-ST, 6x Landing barge, 4x Lambda-class shuttle, 6x Stormtrooper transport, 4x Gamma-class assault shuttle

This is a glorious day for the clan. It is probably the biggest goal I ever had as Consul, to finally give this clan the flagship it's desperately sought out for a long time.

So originally there was discussion that they would be giving out ISDs (Imperial Star Destroyers) and Nebula-Class Star Destroyers, but then some people in this club started bitching. So this precitipated a large discussion among the Dark Council members as to what the nature of our DB fleet was. The Consuls were asked to discuss this with the clan members. What kind of a fleet should a clan have? A couple of star destroyers or a thousand? Should clans even have fleets? Well, you know about that discussion, since we had it.

However, considering the magnitude of this competition and all of the work that went into it, and considering how close to 1st we were, I insisted that Clan Naga Sadow get a VSD. I even attempted to make some good points, and some of them stuck. Muz Ashen was all like, "Right On Manesh!" Now of course, in my reasoning why we should get a VSD, I did make some errors. But that didn't change the point, that people seem to have gotten certain ships (VSDs) for less. I was criticized and I felt bad about it for a while, thinking that since I was the new kid on the block and perhaps wasn't as experienced at the command level that I didn't know what I was talking about. That's true to a certain respect, I've never been knowledgable about the past or about previous wars.

However, then somebody mentioned that in the 5th Great Jedi War, the 2nd place clan was offered a VSD but they declined it, and based on that fact CNS got their VSD. So I think I might have a reputation among the other CONs of being whiney, but I don't care, we got a VSD! Hooray!

  1. Naming the VSD

So, we obviously have to name the thing. This is a VSD and this is serious business. So, you have until Tuesday to provide me names on the DB Message Board, here:

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3458

Thanks to Tron for graciously starting the thread. On Tuesday, I'll pick 10-15 names that I like, and then we'll vote on them.

  1. CNS Historical Campaign 1 and 2

Well, CNS Historical Campaign 1, my first competition I've run as Consul, is over. It didn't have very much participation, so pretty much everybody who participated will get a crescent. As it should be, I guess. When it comes to number of crescents, I'm thinking that I'm in the top 10 in the DB. I have a god-damned lot of crescents, and the secret is to participate in as many little competitions as you can. You never know when you'll be able to get easy victory for lack of participation.

So anyways, now that CNS Historical Campaign 1 is over, I'll say that I'll be releasing CNS Historical Campaign 2 in a few days. I was planning on doing this monthly, but I kinda missed doing it when I wanted to early in september, so I'm kinda making up for it. However, I promise that once the October Historical Campaign is finished, I'll be doing it monthly. I just need to finalize the events.

Once Kat Pridemore and I have gone through the submissions, I'll announce the winners and award the crescents. Oh, and by the way, as part of Historical Campaign 2, I will be running Thorin's trivia this weekend.

  1. Gaming

In last weekend's ICTE, I took 3rd place, earning 21 CFs. I am AWESOME. Xayun got 6 CFs, Raven got 5 CFs, and Ruluk got 2 CFs. It's been a while since I've placed in an ICTE so I'm happy.

There doesn't seem to be any gaming night CFs awarded yet, probably because they still haven't announced a new Gaming Tribune.

However, in order to give the members of this clan something to get excited about. I am only 134 CFs away (assuming I get my gaming night CFs) from 1000! In January I told myself that I would get 1000 CFs by the end of 2006, and by golly I think I'm on my way there. Also root on Xayun, who is only 64 CFs away from 500.

  1. Crescents

Tons of crescents were awarded. I just wanted to mention that.

Although, Raven did get a Ruby Crescent for winning the graphics portion of the September Monthly Topic. That is awesome.

  1. Conclusion

I was watching Jerry Maguire. Probably in my top 10 when it comes to movies. Not because it's romantic, but because it manages to be a football movie as well.

Anyways, the old dude in the movie says something like, "If you don't have it here points to his heart it doesn't matter what you've got here points to his head" Yeah. This clan needs HEART!

Is it in your HEART? IS IT?
