CNS Consul Report #33 - March 3rd, 2007
Well, there are several things I wanted to talk about, and I think this report will be a little bit more whimsical.

Total Emails from Macron: a lot more than I've sent out
Have you ever been on IRC, and you see me engaging in behavior that makes you think, "This guy is in charge of an entire Clan?" Well, yeah, I'm silly like that. Trust me, the moment I stop being silly, something is terribly wrong.
So why am I nuts? I think it's because we live in a sick, terrible world, and the only way I can deal with it is by being silly. I also do it in the DB to remind everybody that this is an online Star Wars club. There have been major happenings in the past week in my personal and work life, although don't worry, they don't interfere with my DB stuff at all. It's just important to keep everything in perspective.
There's an upcoming Rite of Supremacy and Great Jedi War, and I've been asking myself how I'm going to deal with this. As you all know, last year I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown because of the Great Jedi War. Okay, that's exaggerating, but I was seriously stressing about it. Do I want to continue doing that? I mean, I want CNS to do well in these competitions, but I guess, more importantly, I want CNS to TRY in these competitions.
I mean, technically it doesn't matter to me one way or another. <bragging> While I was PCON and CON of CNS, we won a 4-way clan feud and got a VERY close 2nd in the Great Jedi War, CNS's best performance in major competitions, ever.</bragging> A fact like that obviously doesn't stop Morg from PMing me on IRC today, telling me that CNS members are publically, in #db, saying how much I suck as a leader, and yet when I go to #db and look at the logs I don't see any discussion like that.
(Btw, how I feel about the GJW should be more of a reflection of how YOU feel about the GJW, so feel free to tell me how much winning means to you)
That's why I'm nuts. :P
Which is why I'm glad I have Macron as Proconsul. There were some worries that Macron isn't on IRC enough, but I certainly am, as much as anybody who has a full-time job and a not-abysmal social life can be. I have a backlog of about 10 emails from Macron that I need to get through, so the Manesh/Macron administration is off to an aggressive start.
Although, and some people warned me of this, I'm starting to not feel like doing crap because I see Macron doing it. I need to slap myself in the face or something. But, while we're talking about delegating, you're welcome to email Macron things instead of me. :P
I'll also mention that it's very nice to have a full complement of summit members. They're all top-notch people, which means less work for me.
Me and Rai got a crescent from the trivia comp. Oh yeah!
I have two submissions for the graphics event, and zero submissions for the other 4 events. Get to it! Easy crescents! :P
Rai got a Anteian Cross (AC) for his work helping Macron with the DSC Tribune duties.
There were two promotions this week below the rank of GRD.
In Thursday Gaming from last week, Vladek earned 2 CFs, Dragaff earned 2 CFs, and Daunte Gin earned 1 CF.
In the ORW Week 4, Dragaff got 4 CFs and Daunte Gin got 2 CFs.
I know I haven't been gaming much. And yes, I know the DB as a whole doesn't seem to be putting too much effort into the ORW. Maybe it's because there's a RoS and a GJW coming up. There was a discussion about that earlier, spawned by Muz I think, whether or not the DB should care more about competitions within the DB or competitions between the DB and other clubs. To which I say, "Ask me AFTER the GJW." :P
Now, I think honestly I'd rather have inter-club competitions rather than intra-DB competitions, mainly because there's less pressure on me. It's a lot more fun playing WITH Duga than AGAINST Duga. That's just how I feel.
See, I told you this would be a bit longer report than normal, and a bit more silly. I'm at a critical time in my real life, both in job and personally, so I haven't been able to focus on much on the gaming as I should be. Like, right now I'm distracted by the fact that I just paid $28 for 3 pizzas from Papa Johns. That doesn't seem right. Then again, it would only have cost $22 had I just picked it up. Damn. I should have just driven there (it's 10 minutes away) and picked it up. Meh.
