PCON REPORT: ARCONA WEEKLY

And once again, a report from the head slave has somehow made its way into your inboxes. No, don’t applaud, I do stuff like this all the time :P As always you will find in this report -scattered through its content- useful information, diatribes, competitions, news, and more stuff like that…the trick lies in finding any of it :P

Overall:

The week’s been pretty much quiet…there have been some things going on behind the screens but nothing truly major. Relations are mostly calm, as is the Clan channel (though it’s a lot of fun, and I encourage you all to get on more often :P)

We’re starting to recover from our post-RoS trauma, as well…we have, as a Clan, stabilized, and now it is time for us to grow greater than ever before. As of yet, the GJW is but a looming specter in the distance…but I am certain that when it happens, we will be ready for it.

*The News: *

-Dalthid has resigned as Combat Master. So far, no applications have been opened to replace him. Regardless of what we all think of him or the Center, he has held it for a long time and made the ACC a mature part of the Brotherhood as a whole. For that, a salutation to him is in order. The role of Combat Master is not an easy one, and he’s filled it with more vigor than any before him.

-The Galeres Aedile position is still open. As you may have noted we’ve given no deadlines yet…that’s intentional. We’ve already received some good apps…and by all means keep ‘em coming ;) You never know ;) Applications still go to Malidir, Strategos, and myself. In your recc, please include:

  • Any relevant experience in the leadership field.

  • The tasks you see yourself doing as an Aedile.

  • A good email turnaround (preferably 24 hours or less) and a strong IRC presence.

  • What makes you a good Aedile.

  • The ‘vision’ you have for Galeres, in what you think should help Galeres properly prepare itself for future endeavors and competitions.

  • Any and all ideas on what to do, as well as the division of tasks you would like between Malidir and yourself.

  • We have left the ‘ideas’ stage of the Arcona website by now, and actual coding is happening as you read. In a week, perhaps two, you will see one of the major improvements to the website I was hoping to implement as a Proconsul. More features will be added after that, but we will have the groundwork for a system that will prove quite useful for both the Clan and all individuals that form it. Special thanks go to Mejas and James for helping with ideas, Orv for having started the actual coding work, as well as the esteemed ex-GM Jac for providing the necessary access to the DJB website.

Running competitions:

Several of the old comps are still running…here’s a rundown of them:

Arcona runon: Desperate Times:

Well…this is still Dajoraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! There’s a space battle in full swing, Hutts invading on the ground, and lots of other stuff to do right now. It’s progressing nicely, and there’s still opportunities to go and participate. I say go, all of you! ;)

Who pwnd the PCON?

So…here I am. Am I dead or alive? Who wants to kill me? Do you? Does Strat? A rival for PCON? Who knows…that decision is yours. This Arcona competition is for all you writers out there, with free aid being given to you by Dessie on how to improve, if you feel you need it.

So again, go do this ;)

Submissions go to Desdemonea at: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

PWN the PCON!

This is the ACC competition…another aimed specifically at you newbies there :) So far, submissions have been rather meager…none of the battles have started yet either. Meaning this is the proper time to sign up ;) The competition has ample space for multiple matches, none of which count against your losses in the Combat Center…it’s a good way to get acquainted with the whole system, and you’ll get guidance from me the best I can, too :)

Challenges go to: [Log in to view e-mail addresses]

Hope you’ll all find something nice to do out there ;)

Elevations and Awards of Note:

No medals yet…we’ve ran into some problems with awards lately –as we all know, the MAA can be a hardass :P- but not to worry, the Summits are still working furiously on awards. Also, you’ll find that most awards are done at the lowest possible level rather than the highest…mainly to make sure the BTLs get some medal awarding experience.

Conclusion:

All in all, I’m pretty content with the way Arcona is going right now. It’s been less than three months since I returned to active service, but the Clan feels very much like a home right now. Projects are going the way I’d like them to, we have plenty of internal competitions, and most people seem generally content. As always, if there’s problem or anything you think would make Arcona a more enjoyable experience for us, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We all joined this club for fun…and anything that can enhance that deserves serious consideration.

Cya’ll online,

-KAP Timeros
