CNS Consul Report #49 - June 23rd, 2007

Hello everybody. We're going through some personnel changes this past week and there will be some new appointments next week, particularly in the envoy areas. I'm starting to read some good ideas from these people, and that is a good thing.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I'm taking Economics classes once again this summer. I'm entering week 4 of 12 total weeks of classes. If you guys remember, I did this last summer, but last summer I was taking classes 4 evenings a week. This summer I'm only doing two evenings a week, so while it can be tiring, it's not as much of a time-suck as it was last summer.

There are some new transfers into the clan. I hope you guys make them feel welcome.

1. Attacking the Clones Results Finally Released
   

FINALLY. 22 crescents were given out for the Attacking the Clones competition, and yes Ylith, while I did mess up some of the labelling, I'm pretty sure everybody got the medal they deserved. If my list of placings doesn't match with the crescents you actually got, let me know, and I'll see what I can do about fixing it.

I love the whoosh of crescents.

1. CNS Historical Campaign #6
   

You know what's a great way to get crescents? CNS Historical Campaign #6.

Yeah. I've only gotten one submission to my awesome Event #5, but the other four are very nice too. Rai thought them up, and we wouldn't want to dissapoint him, would we? But seriously, this is a great way to get crescents. Normally only a handful of people participate in these competitions, so you stand a fairly good chance of winning something.

And anyways, this might be the last Historical Campaign I'll be running for a while, with the Great Jedi War coming and all. Also remember that Event #5 is serving as my Black Guard competition.

1. Manesh's SA Challenge
   

Since this week's poll ran for about a week and a half, we got a few more votes than normal for this poll. This week, "Pre-Republic History" won with 6 votes. That is the course I will take. These are the courses I still need to take, but haven't because I suck:

*Advanced Test of Wisdom

Three SA courses were passed by our members this week, which is a bit of a dip. On the bright side, I was awarded with the Dark Maven degree, which is very cool.

1. Medals
   

Both Macron and Shin'ichi were awarded Dark Crosses this week for their service to the Chamber of Justice. I have no idea what that entails but congratulations go out to both of them.

1. Promotion
   

This week's promotion was that of Nik-Qui Kux to Protector. Yay!

1. Dark Side Scroll
   

Two Dark Side Scrolls were awarded to Macron for his contributions to the Dark Voice newsletter this month. I'm a little dissapointed that he was the only contributor to the Dark Voice this month. We normally get around 5 or 6 people contributing, so I'm not exactly sure what's responsible for the dropoff.

1. Gaming
   

This week's only CF was awarded to one of our newest transfers, Sith Warrior Ashura Isradia, who got 1 CF for participating in this week's gaming nights.

I did participate in today's ICTE, but at the time I was around, the entire thing was kind of morbid.

We were able to secure teams for all three possible events for the CTF tournament, but for BF2 not enough clans could produce a team, so there won't be any BF2. The other problem I noticed while I was on IRC today was that none of the members of the clan teams (including ours) are online at the same time, making it difficult to even conduct the matches requested. It's a somewhat restricted event.

1. Conclusion
   

I had a conversation with someone outside of the clan, who thanked me for not being "overly political." I could write paragraphs on what I think "political" means in the DB. I've heard that before from people within the clan, but it was the first time anyone from outside of CNS ever complimented me in that way, and it felt good.
