Clan Notes

Random Quote

"Optimistic wishes usually don't come true."

So, yeah…

I had meant to send this out a bit sooner after Rekio announced his resignation, but it turns out that I was only signed up to receive the abridged e-mails, and not one per e-mail. So, my apologies, but then again, it gave people more time to respond to Rekio's announcement. It is always great to see the response, especially the thanks.

Proconsul

First off, I can’t thank Rekio enough for his service, especially for being willing to step up while he had the time. Back when he did volunteer, the clan was looking at a somewhat bleak leadership future. Thanks in large part to Rekio, the clan is now on a better path, and one that will see greater success in the future. As Rekio himself said, he is still going to be active in the clan as best he can, and he did develop an idea we’re going to implement. I’ll let him release the details (barring a major interruption), but it does have my full support.

As for replacing Rekio, it certainly won’t be an easy task, no matter who was to take over the position. Rekio and I discussed this awhile back and we had a succession plan, but some alterations became necessary. But, the good thing is that I had a few people to consider. In the end, I have chosen OP Dranik Tarentae to become the next Proconsul of Clan Tarentum.

Dranik and I have known each other for several years now, both in real life and in the DB. Dranik has some good DB experience and he served as my praetor when I was Headmaster. We’re a good team and we have an extra advantage of being able to talk on the phone (and if you’re willing to pay for the gas, I’ll drive to his house and hit him for you). In all seriousness, Dranik has been some behind the scenes work with me more recently, but he also has some great ideas for the clan.

Clan Competitions

The tentative start date for the next clan competition is going to be July 26. And why? Because I have that Saturday off from work, and then I have one week until I get a week off (yay for paid vacations!). The events are pretty much ready to go, but I’m contemplating adding one more. This will be the second part of the Renegade Trilogy. You DID NOT have to participate in the first part to participate in this part of the trilogy.

Also, Oberst has been working on setting up a joint competition with Arcona. Arcona, for those of you who don’t know, is our ally. More details will come at the proper time.

Finally, and I’m really stoked to see this, but the battleteam leaders are planning a joint event for their various battleteams for the near future.

There’s going to be plenty of opportunity for activity, and this is all on the clan level. The houses all have their activities, or at least they should. If they don’t, Dranik and I shall have to beat the summits.

Promotions:

Cypha to Guardian

Clan Arrivals:

Xaviar Yaroslav Guadalupe transferred in from the Rogues.

DB News

Independence Game seals have finally been awarded. Deputy Grand Master Muz has been promoted to Dark Prophet, a rank even rarer than Grand Master. Of course, if Muz becomes the next Grand Master, he’ll just perpetuate that trend :P

Fictional News

Nothing to update since the last report. Remember, the clan is currently on board the Doomsday, with an MC80 sitting off the bow.

And that would be that for this edition of the clan notes. Thanks to Rekio, congrats to Dranik. And clan competition events are coming, and this story should be really awesome.
