He noticed a few lines around it and took it upon himself to fix it and send me an updated image. Mal'ari'carun aka Alaric was also awarded a Dark Cross. At the time a total of 10 Shadow Academy courses had been done and graded in the span of about two or three days. He still had more that he passed later on that hadn’t been graded yet. This is a remarkable achievement! Way to go, Alaric!

New Faces! (and some old)

I’d like to welcome back Derev Niroth aka Thorin to our ranks. Derev served with us in the 7th GJW where our clan came in 2nd, missing 1st place by a hair! His determination and energy is a definite plus and I am pleased see him return. Welcome back, Thorin!

We have also seen the return of Aticus 'Khaos' Kashu aka Destoval. Dest once graced our ranks before real life concerns forced him to take a long break. Upon his return to the DB, he rejoined in Arcona, but as CNS was always his home, he recently decided to come back and be part of us once again. I’m delighted to have Dest come home again.

Closing Remarks

Ok, so, a little about what’s going on in your Consul’s life. Last Friday, the FDIC took over my company. Some of you may have seen it on the news, CNN, etc. IndyMac Bank is now known as IndyMac Federal Bank. :-P

The good news is I still have a job. The reason for the take over lies with the remarks of one Senator Charles Schumer. Senator Schumer saw fit to release a letter to various bank regulatory agencies calling our viability into question. The letter was publicly released and caused a mass panic among many of our customers. People started withdrawing their funds left and right, and within the matter of two weeks withdrew more then $1.3 billion dollars. As a result, the FDIC came in and are now running the company, forcing our CEO of 15 years to resign followed shortly by our President.

It’s sad to see this happen. Most of us are really pissed at Senator Schumer. We’ve taken hundreds of calls in our call centers this passed week. Our bank branches in California were swamped with borrower’s coming in wanting their money because they were worried. I work in the Research Dept and we work along side the call center, so if they get hit, we do too. It was a very long stressful week. Here’s a news story link if anyone is interested: clicky

Right now, none of us know what’s going to happen. We’ve been told they want to sell all the mortgages as one, instead of parting it out. If they can, that means there’s a good chance all of us in the Home Loan Servicing will not loose our jobs. If not, well…I’d rather not think about it.
