Competitions Update

Currently, Smoke has started to set up some gaming competitions for the clan. He pretty much has blanket approval from Dranik and myself to run these things. As I’ve only received two responses concerning what type of games people have, I can’t do anything with the brackets just yet. For now, pay attention to what Smoke says regarding gaming.

Cestus and Gladius have a joint competition coming up in the near future. Tridens is trying to get something going with a house in Clan Naga Sadow. If that falls through, we’ll work with Odin to get you guys something good and fun.

Just a reminder, but if you aren't on the Clan Tarentum mailing list ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]), please let me know. Again, I've e-mailed everyone individually with this e-mail to make sure everyone gets it.

Titles, Positions, Deeds, etc.

Dranik and I have turned our attention to a big part of the clan’s fictional side as our next project. We’re going to start working on the planets first (building off of what others have done before us, notably BF, Oberst, and Rekio).

From there, we’re going to work on the land grant and title system, which is something we had going for awhile, but has kind of fallen by the wayside. As a result, we’ve had a lot of things pile up on each other that don’t exactly make sense, or perhaps unfairly restricts things to certain people.

At this time, we’re not looking for volunteers. However, in the future, there might be some opportunities for interested members to help. More on that will come later.

And before you ask…

The planets, titles, and land grants are not the super secret project. The super secret project is something else entirely. It has been put on hold pending some near future (we hope) changes in the DB. We’ve got to see how things change before we go any further. I know, I just said something more than I did in my last e-mail. But that’s the end of what I’m saying.

Promotion Guidelines

If you haven’t seen the main page, Kaek has released Brotherhood-wide promotion guidelines from APP-DJK. And you’ve got to meet them to get promoted; in short, there is no grandfathering.

Let me be very clear: IT IS YOUR JOB to monitor your participation in competitions. I will try to keep the best record I can, but if you don’t CC me with competition submissions (or your house leaders) then I have no way to follow what you’ve done.

Also, once again, we’ll do our best to keep track of everything, but if you think you’ve met the requirements and should be promoted, please politely e-mail your house leaders and ask them to look into it. If you don’t get a response, then come to Dranik and/or me.

Closing Comments

I would like to apologize for the decrease in my presence as of late. I’ve been a bit busy with work, and even my week off last week was somewhat busy with doctor appointments, and having to fix my mom’s computer (see random quote above). But, I am still doing things for the clan, and I’m not intending to go anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Dranik is doing the same, except he’s just downloaded the new patch for World of Warcraft…. He will still be up long after I’ve gone to bed. I imagine he’s in the same boat as many of the others in the clan. But, hey, I don’t play, so at least one of us is still fairly sane :P
