New Year…

With the major holidays now behind us, I'm back into the full swing of things. My work and family schedule was taking up a lot of time these past couple of weeks, but that is all done until next year. I hope that all of you had a great New Years and, if you have some more time off before returning to work or school that you enjoy it.

Great Jedi War

We are now just a couple weeks out from the start of the Great Jedi War. This is the event folks. There will be plenty of events for everyone to participate in, with plenty of medals up for grabs. The clan will award your participation on top of anything else you might pick up. And, of course, for you journeymen, each event will count as a competition so that you can meet the requirements for promotion.

Speaking of the Great Jedi War, I'm repeating my call for anyone who has services to lend to the clan to volunteer. Here is what I know for certain so far:

  1. Bloodfyre, Odin, Kazarelth, and Windos all are willing to help you get qualified for the ACC. Scion is willing to proof read ACC posts before you submit them.

  2. Scion and myself both will be willing, as best we can, to proof read fiction submissions before you submit them.

  3. Run-on: we will have an active discussion thread for new posts/ideas, and trying to help people keep going.

Great Jedi War Tips

This is mainly for members who have never participated in a GJW, but it doesn't hurt to remind everyone of these things.

  1. Always include your name and dossier number in the e-mail in which a submission is sent. For written events, it doesn't hurt to also include it in the submission itself.

  2. Always CC your leaders with your submissions (I personally will have a brand new label set up in Gmail for all submissions).

  3. Don't over-commit yourself: primarily for the ACC, but, in short, don't take on too many things at once. In the ACC in particular, there is typically a minimum number of battles you must be engaged in before you can turn down any other challenges (in the past it has been 3, but read the rules when they come out).

  4. Don't blow your own chances. In the past, there have been a few members, particularly in gaming, who disagreed with a certain aspect. Unfortunately, they tended to take their issues to the right people, but with the completely wrong attitude. This cost the clan, and that person. If you think something was judged wrong, or have other issues, politely e-mail the judge and CC myself and Oberst.

  5. Finally, the GJW is big and it is important. That doesn't mean, however, that it is necessarily going to be the greatest story ever written or competition held by the DB (it could be, though… we just don't know). Complaining about the plot line and events doesn't change anything; just keep in mind that if you mouth off about it, you might be discouraging someone else.

Clan Arrivals

Since my last clan notes, the following members have joined the clan:

  1. Tanknoord, Shardara, Luzin, and Denzel Kor all joined House Cestus.

  2. Dr.djb, Tailik Aazaana, and Antonidus Pho-Antas all joined House Gladius

  3. Darion Kyler (now Noctis Lucis Caelum) joined House Tridens

  4. Jondaar Domi, a former Proconsul of Tarentum, joined House Tridens from the Rogues.

Welcome to all!

Promotions

Since my last clan notes, the following members have been promoted:

  1. Denzel Kor to Novice

  2. Noctis to Novice, and then to Acolyte

  3. Psyche to Novice, and then Acolyte

  4. Shardara to Novice, and then to Acolyte

  5. Jaron to Guardian

  6. Rathelm to Acolyte

Congratulations everyone!

Conclusion

Again, I hope everyone had a great New Year's, and I hope to see everyone jump in and help Tarentum take this Great Jedi War. We can do it!
