Disciples of the Shadows,

Time continues to fly by, but I promise we are utilizing it well. The Summit's primary goal these past several weeks is in the pursuit of Foundational Excellence. I am extremely excited to discuss these changes with you, but we are awaiting some final approval from the Consul. It is a big change and these things take time. As odd as it sounds for Dark Jedi, we move with extreme caution and want to make sure we get it right the first time. However, I thought I would share some happenings within the world and our Dark Brotherhood until then.

Brotherhood News

Open Positions: Both Taldryan and Naga Sadow are seeking a Proconsul and a Quaestor. I find it worrisome that Taldryan had to extend their deadline, because that means they either had no one apply or the applicants were unqualified. In either situation, it is not a good sign.

Tribune:Gaming Competition: Vardar has created a new competition for those of you whom do not participate on a day-to-day basis. The concept is simple... challenge him to a match and beat him, you earn a Pendant of Blood. Be sure to sign onto IRC and beat him up... both physically and verbally (I will reward you for the verbal part).

Death Troopers: The Grand Master reminded everyone that Joe Schrieber is releasing a Star Wars horror novel this month. It is a pleasant surprise for those of you whom may be over the emo antics of the current Star Wars Universe. There are also some competitions specific to the novel's release (all mentioned in Muz's release).

Justicar Announcement: Kir has opened the position of Right Hand of Justice to applications. The requirements are fairly straightforward and I encourage any of you whom may be interested in the Brotherhood's interpretation of the Dark Covenant to apply.

Tribune:Wiki Report: Tron has released another report reminding everyone, "Thou shall not steal!" No, actually, he covers some fairly straightforward DB Wiki reminders. These reminders are not meant to be a broken record (something that continues to repeat itself, for my younger audience), but to enhance the overall quality of the Wiki and our club. Be sure to read this report and acknowledge what he has to say.

Clan News

Halloween Competitions: Sanguinius and Zakath (aka Ninj) have stepped forward (with some help from Celahir) to create everyone some wonderful opportunities to compete this month. A lot of the focus is on simple, fun competitions that simply promote activity and give out loads of medals. For those of you whom are into the more serious competitions... my apologies. Go collect an easy medal and get with me on some more advanced stuff.

Project Shadesworn: You might have heard about this through the grapevine. The leadership is currently in discussion about the organizational leadership of the clan and bringing forward some changes to enable a stronger clan infrastructure. We are also going to utilize the opportunity to clean up some of our information/data as a Clan. Keep your eyes open for the announcement.

ARC-Lite: Currently in the process of reviewing content on the DB Wiki related to Clan Arcona. There is a significant amount of data (way more than I thought). I am sifting through most of it right now to determine which parts need added, need help or need removed. Once we have a project list, I plan on throwing out medals for those of you whom may be interested in working on this sort of stuff.

The Message

This week's message is going to revolve around my trip to Kansas City last week. I had the opportunity to attend a conference that had guests from Activision, Ubisoft, EA and Lucas Arts. So, I figured some of you may enjoy hearing about my experience (and the awesome games I got to play).

Star Wars: The Old Republic - Lucas Arts was really out to promote the new Clone Wars game and Elite Squadron (for the PSP), but we got them to talk about their new project with Bioware. Tentatively, the release date is Q3 of 2010. I know we are all looking forward to this release.

Modern Warfare 2 - Infinity Ward has done it again. I got to play a level that basically felt like the seen from "The Rock" where the good guys are coming up through the floor into the bathroom. It was crazy difficult and while I died, my partner was able to crawl towards our objective and earn us a "Mission Success"

Left 4 Dead 2 - You may not have been a fan of mindless zombie killing before, but the addition of melee weapons makes the experience complete. Nothing like wielding a frying pan with reckless abandon and then quickly switching to an assault shotgun and pumping rounds into a witch. Look for this title on November 18th, 2009.

Assassin's Creed 2 - Ubisoft not only brought out the Frag Dolls, but they also brought a demo of their much anticipated sequel to Assassin's Creed. You can no drop two enemies at once and the environments are far more engaging. Also, look forward to some new content such as DaVinci's flying machine.

Dragon Age: Origins - For those of you whom deeply enjoy the experience an RPG offers, this is the game for you. Dragon Age not only allows you to choose how the world interacts with you, but gives you the ability to do downright evil actions that you had previously only dreamed about in a video game. The game play was rock solid and the magicians are lethal.

Dante's Inferno & God of War III - I put both of these titles together, because the only thing I can say is... "Holy shit! That was badass!" Both games are hack-and-slash thrillers, be sure to give them both a shot when they come out.

THE FIN

*Do the Halloween Competitions

*Ask me questions about my mini-E3 experience

*Go see "Law Abiding Citizen" the night it comes out

As always, my door is open to anyone and everyone. Please bring and questions or ideas you have to me for discussion. My job is to enhance your experience. Unless you are a leader, then my job is to belittle you constantly.

I am, your servant,

Braecen Kaeth

Proconsul of Clan Arcona

Prefect of Darkness
