Hey, everybody. With all the RoS happenings and continuing competition events, let's get down to brass tacks.

• As most likely everyone knows by now, we lost to Independent House Revan by a narrow margin in the first round of the Rite of Supremacy. While we won the poetry event, they won the ACC event (16-8) and the fiction event (16-14). While I understand why we lost to them (point-based system, good writers vs. good writers, dealing with a former GM and his band of cronies), I also understand the disappointment. But as far as I can tell, we live and learn, and we move on.

...To fifth place. That is our goal now as we face Plagueis and Scholae Palatinae in the knock-out bracket. Our events are ACC, gaming, and fiction, so submit, don't time out, and write to win. Quaestor Scion Altera of Gladius put out some excellent ACC tips, and I will continue to reiterate the importance of getting your work read and edited by at least two other members. Trust me. It helps. Let's win this knock-out bracket and not end up dead last...especially against the likes of these two clans.

• Justicar Kir Katarn is now taking applications for the open Left Hand of Justice position! This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the Chamber of Justice, and I strongly encourage DJKs and up to apply. I've already heard a few Tarenti express interest, so for more information, check the main website for Kir's announcement.

• Speaking of the Chamber of Justice, the latest case involving plagiarism and cheating is a very serious one in terms of this vendetta. You now have seen the consequences of presenting someone else's work as your own - it costs you, and it costs your clan a win. The Brotherhood needs to be fair for all, and cheating only destroys that fairness. I am proud of this clan for having avoided any CoJ indictment for several years, and I hope to keep it that way and set an example for other clans.

• Not much in clan news recently due to the RoS, but I did want to congratulate Ji K'awiil on becoming a Wiki Staff member. He and Windos have been working to flag any images that may not be relevant to the articles they have been posted in, and they are doing an excellent job of following the set wiki guidelines. Congratulations, Ji!

Some of you may be wondering why I am submitting this report two days earlier than my normal deadline. The reason is that tomorrow, I will not be in California anymore. I will be on a plane heading to Limerick, Ireland; therefore, I wanted to distribute this report before I ended up delivering it too late rather than too early.

Because tomorrow will be filled with air travel (How joyous), I will not have internet access until most likely the afternoon (afternoon where I am, maybe not where you are). Therefore, all e-mails you send to me after midnight on Tuesday will most likely not be answered until after 12 pm GMT/WET (Greenwich Mean Time/Western European Standard Time). In the meantime, you will have to remember that if you live on the east coast (Eastern Standard Time), I will be five hours ahead of you. If you don't live on the east coast, just do the math.

I will be residing in Ireland and attending the University of Limerick for four months. This is a study abroad program I am a part of, and it should not affect my dedication to Tarentum and the Brotherhood in any way. I will have wireless internet access, and I have added IRC to my new PC netbook since UL is not compatible with Macs; if IRC does not work, I can be reached by e-mail, gmail chat, AIM, or Skype. Should anything happen with my schedule and should I ultimately not have time to contribute to the club over the next few months, you guys will be the first to know.

However, I plan to continue to work diligently with Tarentum through the rest of the RoS and the clan's future while I study and take classes in Ireland. I know I'm someone who people like to send ACC and fiction drafts to, so please don't hesitate to ask others in the clan for help over the next 24 - 48 hours. Don't worry - I'll be back soon after I get over the jet lag!
