Aedile Report

Greetings Tarenti,

My name is Scion Altera. I'm addicted to activity records.

"Hi Scion."

I've been working on an improved way to keep track of Tarentum's records. As some of you know, for the past two years or so I've been using a document in Google Docs to track activity first in House Gladius, then in House Kaerner, and now in House Tarentum. What you may not know is that I always intended that as a temporary system while I built a website to do it. Unfortunately that website kept getting de-prioritized because the system was working "well enough" and so it never got done. Until now.

The first version of it is now active at http://scion.divineright.org/atr and shows all the activity in Tarentum for August, as well as some for July, although that's mostly older records from House Kaerner. I didn't have House Reinthaler's information handy. Please do take a look at the site and review the listing to make sure everything you did is represented there. If anything is missing, send me an email about it and I'll add it. That includes activity related to Battle Teams - we need to record everything so we can be sure to promote and reward people appropriately.

For those participating in the "King and The Gods" Run On, I will be going through it when it's over and recording who participated rather than trying to keep up post-by-post.

For those of you who won't go look at the site, here are some interesting statistics from the past month. Next month I'll compare these against September's stats, so that we can get a good sense of how Tarentum is doing as a group.

First off, only 15 of the 53 Tarenti had activity recorded this month. That's 28%. SBM Robin Hawk, PRT Serynh, and GRD Melfeckt were our three most active members. All told, we racked up 137 competition awards, 131 of which were Clusters of Fire or Ice, plus 6 crescents. There were 3 merit awards earned, 2 promotions, 4 SA courses and degrees completed, and GRD Melfeckt participated in the ACC. We had three people transfer in, and three people transfer out, keeping our roster steady at 53 people.

I'm sure these stats have fallen victim to some under-reporting due to the change from a Clan to a House and the various changes in leadership. Hopefully it will be easy to match and exceed these numbers next month as we gear up for the Vendetta in October. Be sure to flood my inbox by reporting everything you do, and check the site to make sure it gets on the list.

Speaking of competitions, we will be having a few Tarentum-themed writing competitions this month. I'll announce the first one as soon as I have approval from Korras. It'll be an easy way to participate, possibly earn a crescent, and get back in practice in time for October. The plan is to have one or two mini-ROs and two or three individual fiction events of two to three pages each.

How does all this relate to our goal of becoming the first House to regain Clan status? Simple: Muz is looking for activity. In order to get from where we are back to being a Clan, we must have verifiable, sustained activity from a substantial percentage of our members. Or if you prefer, think of it this way: our House needs to become big enough and active enough that it has to be split in two. It's a long, long road ahead for every House in the Brotherhood and it will require a lot of work from everyone. Participating in competitions helps us along that path, as do completing SA courses, fighting in the ACC, gaming, being on IRC and posting on the forums.

That's all for now.

In Darkness,
