Rollmaster Report February 18, 2011

Introduction MSP Corner Schools of Learning Conclusion Rollmaster Real-life

Introduction Greetings! The tri-house feud ended recently, House Naga Sadow came out on top. Great Job guys and gals, the summit is proud of your efforts. This report will not be like my last report where I listed everything done by everyone in the house for the month of January. This month I will be focusing more on the MSP, and Schools of Learning.

MSP Corner There is not really much I have to say for this corner except I would like to readdress 2 policies that are in place and explain why they are the way that they are. The first policy is the Rule of Two; it states that no Master shall have more than one student unless the number of available students is more than the number of available Masters. Only then would two students be allowed. With the results of the AWOL check done and complete, there are only a few unpaired journeymen. There are more unpaired masters then unpaired journeymen. So that being said, double students will not be allowed for the time being. This takes away from the focus of each student. The other policy is in a way a 2 part policy. One is the communication between Master and Student, the second is the Communication between Master and Rollmaster. While there is no real way for me to watch the communication between Master and Student, I can judge by the check-ins that I am receiving if communication is happening and the level that it is occurring. I’ve received several emails from masters during check-in time that they haven’t heard from their student in X many weeks and have emailed them Y number of times. If the student has gone AWOL then the Master would use their best judgment to end the relationship and find a more active apprentice. I would not suggest that this be done lightly, as this is an internet club and real life comes first however if a master hasn’t heard from their student since say they were paired then something needs to be looked at. The second part of this policy, is the communication between Master and Rollmaster, this is an important pathway, it allows me to know how the student is in their promotion trials and to know if the Master is actually emailing the student. While I am not nitpicky on what is included in these check-ins just emailing “My students fine.” Doesn’t exactly work, sorry guys, the purpose of this email is to ensure that my records hold true as well as to see if there is communication flowing between the pairing. Sending an email that states “My student is fine” leads me to believe that something isn’t right, someone in this partnership isn’t doing their job, be it the student or the Master, which then will cause me to poke both of them and see what’s going on. Another thing that will cause me to poke around in the partnership is when a Master doesn’t email me for weeks at a time, even if they are doing their job and emailing their student every other day and their student is active, as heck. I would then send a unhappy email, which hopefully would remind you to email me the next time. If you miss the next deadline, then the master student relationship is broken, the master is not allowed to take a new student until they are able to do the duties that are required and the student will be repaired with another master. Long story short, only one master and one student per pairing, unless the Rollmaster says otherwise, and keep communications flowing between the Master/Student and Master/Rollmaster. Masters should be emailing the Rollmaster every 2 weeks, that’s 2 a month with a check in.

Schools of Learning This is my project, my baby if you will. I started this back in December with an idea, something that I felt that would help expand the borders of HNS from fiction into other aspects by putting people who have the knowledge in an area be reachable by everyone with in the house. With that goal in mind I started working on the Schools of Learning, which is nearing its final stages in the next week or two. I know I have kept the house pretty much in the dark about this particular project however below is the basics.
The Schools of Learning is a 3 part school, there are 3 heads that work under the Rollmaster assisting the house in the 3 main venues of the DB. Those three venues are Gaming, Fiction and ACC. You could argue that there are more but these are the three main, more popular, venues in the club. However not everyone who is a master in the MSP know how everything works, they might know how it works but not really know…if that makes sense…that’s where these three Masters would come in. If you wish to learn more about the Gaming Venue but your master is primarily focused on fiction writing, doesn’t own the games has no idea how they work, you would then ask our dear loving Gaming Master who would set you down the right path. See simple. I hope. If not then well I’ll answer questions at a later date. On that note, I have named my 3 Masters that will be working on this with me. The Fiction master is Shikyo, the ACC Master is Macron, and the Gaming Master is Araxis.

Conclusion My book style report is long and wordy. However below I have summed it up into the major points. HNS Wins Tri-House Feud Only One student per Master Communication is Important Schools of learning nearly done

Rollmaster Real life This isn’t an actual section but meh I fell like tell you about what I do when I’m not at the computer recently. Barring doctor’s appointments and the like, I’ve been busy helping to colonize a fraternity on campus. Midterms start next week. Next weekend is little sibling weekend, so I will have my cousin stay with my for a few days, so he gets a feel of how it is to be in college. Though someone tell me, how is building a bear being in college… I am looking forward to this though. I like my cousin a lot if you ever want someone to kick your ass in a racing game he’s the kid.

I hope to not have bored you with my ranting. In Darkness Templar Teu Pepoi HNS RM
