House Shar Dakhan Quaestor's Report

Howdy everyone! I'd like to welcome everyone to my very first Quaestor's report. Both Teu and Methyas have posted up good stuff already, so let's see if I can't make something of value come out of mine. I was really kind of waiting until my roster got padded out, but I think I'd be remiss if I had.

As HSD is a new house, there's a lot of wide open availability to really develop ourselves. So far, the rough draft of the prospectus is summarized as.

Sai: Mirado, we need money.

Mirado: Ok.

Sai: Go make me money.

Mirado: Ok.

And thus a House was designed to become a full financial entity. We will be using Aeotheran as the home planet, and with all hope, the wiki recovery will mean that soon, so very soon, I can pull the Under Construction' tags from the sites, and get down to getting down. To give away what I can, our very own Jeric Cyrin is the first recipient of aLetter of Marque', an authorization to engage in privateering. While this is a purely fictional tool, I'd like to work with him in adding more souls to this little party.

To explain our new home a bit, House Shar Dakhan has gathered refugees from the Orian system, and with assistance from the Dlarit corporation and a small construction droid army, the city of Kel Rasha and the manmade island chain Gilded Archipelago will become the new economic hub of CNS, drawing money from tourism and locally crafted goods and services.

Next on my agenda. This is my first gig as Quaestor, and only my second gig in any kind of leadership at all, so I'm learning as I go. Therefore, I want to go ahead and make this available. This is my Formspring and there are no stupid questions. In addition, at the moment, I'll be doing this all on my lonesome, though. if we get busy enough, I'll pretty much need an Aedile. Just keep that in mind. The more work I have, the more I'll need somebody to step up and give me a hand with it. It's a nice self sustaining cycle.

I will, from hither on, plan on posting up my reports on or around the first of every month, depending on my work schedule, and I will also be posting up what I'll be calling the `Shar's List' job board. If you're looking for something to do, (hint hint to the Journeymen that need Summit assigned tasks for promotions.) or just want to be awesome, you can just e-mail me with whatever you're interested in. These will be on a first come-first serve basis, though larger tasks I will give about a week after the first acceptance, in case others want to help. This report though, won't have the list, since I don't have any work.

Another project I'll be undertaking, once Orv's announced the wiki is fixed, is setting up our own section in the forums. Within them, I will be posting up all the entries to any fiction competition that's ran in-clan, once the competition is finished. I will also be putting my money where my mouth is, by posting my own entries, even to competitions which I am running (and therefore am not in consideration for placing.)

I'd also like to take a minute to address the Great Jedi War coming up this summer. While I've not participated in one yet, as I'm led to understand, it'll make such events as the IG's and the recent Disorder Vendetta look like basic day to day routine. I know I'm excited for it, and maybe I can build some excitement for the lot of you with this piece of information.

The upcoming possessions system means we will begin getting `paid' in character. The amount of money we receive is based on our prestige rating. Now, the GJW is a seal awarding event, so for every competition to which you submit an entry, you will receive a seal. Each seal is worth 5 prestige. Not a lot on its own, but our own Masika entered 9 of these events, and Jade entered 11. Their prestige ratings went up 45, and 55 points, respectively.

So, what I'm saying here, try all the events you possibly can. Do your best, whatever it might be. You might earn the very rare Novae awards, but you're guaranteed a seal. Just to seal that, remember, graphics competitions have been decided by stick figures drawn in a basic paint program.

So, there's that. Here's what the lot of you have accomplished recently. (Shamelessly borrowed from Methyas' report, this one time.)

Ashia Kagan Keibatsu - A Crescent with an Amethyst Star and a Seal of Return received

Macron Goura Sadow - A Dark Cross, two Crescents with a Ruby Star and three Seals of Return received

In closing, I just want to thank all of the people who ASKED to be assigned to House Shar Dakhan. You've put your faith in me, and I'mma do the work. Also, your freshly minted Quaestor was, this very day, involved in the filming of a music video. Once its finished up, I'll post a link.

-=[]=- And when I got away, I only got so far. The other me is dead. I hear his voice inside my head. -=[]=-
