First off, I want to apologize for the lateness of this report. It is that time of the year where 12-14 shifts at work are the norm for me and they are quite exhausting. So, this report will be a bit longer than my usual reports, but in a good way because of the number of awards, advancement, and other honorifics that I get to mention.

Tarentum History Month There is a Tarentum history course at the Shadow Academy now. BF was the main writer, though others did add to it over the years. Don't forget that Tarentum history month is winding down this week- you have through Saturday to do Week 4 trivia (email [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and get the auto-response with the questions; answer them and email it back). Also still running are the following events:

Make a Monster: Tarentum is known as the dark house where the study of the dead and death itself is worshipped. As such, despite the practice was outlawed, many Tarenti and Tarentae to this day still perform secret acts of necromancy. You are such a member of Tarentum, and today your creation breathes again. OOC: Design a monster from Tarentum's interest in necromancy. Write a full profile for the creature detailing its creation, description, behaviours, diet, powers, and etc. Extra points for graphics. Marking will be based off of creativity, general interest, and basic writing style.

Wiki- Character Development: The most recent GJW was the hardest on Tarentum. Hundreds of Tarenti were killed or converted during the battle on New Tython. Only the select few survived and returned to Yridia to carry on. Share your story. OOC: Create or edit your character wiki to reflect the recent GJW's impact on your character. Where were you on the battlefield for Tarentum? If you weren't involved in the runon, check up on the story and then add to your wiki where you would have been. At least 2 paragraphs have to be added to existing character pages to count.(if you haven't done a wiki page yet, then this is a great time to start!)

The Wiki Race: For week 3 of THM, Tarentum members will challenge their navigation skills by attempting to find the shortest path between wiki articles released by Raiju. Members will have to document what links they took between articles to make it to the destination. For example, Raiju Kang [starting page] Rekio (link under masters section) Bloodfyre (link under allies) Anshar (linked from character history) [Ending article]

I would also like to highlight specifically Egregious: he has been tearing it up at the Shadow Academy. He has passed 13 Shadow Academy courses over the past few weeks and was promoted to Novice and then quickly to Acolyte. He has participated in Tarentum History month, earning a Legion of the Scholar in the process. He is also one of only two members in the DB (the other being the DGM, Halc) to have currently passed the Tarentum History course. Great work, Egregious! I hope to see more from you and you are definitely setting an example for all of us in the house.

New Arrivals and Returns

I would like to publicly welcome Armus back to the house. Armus has a long history with the Brotherhood and with Tarentum and I know that he will be an asset to our house.

We also have some brand new members: Biyaan and Redec Livan have both passed their Tests of Lore and been added to our rosters.

Tarentum's Future

Upon becoming Aedile, one of the tasks that Bloodfyre assigned to me was the creation and promotion of a house/clan story arc. So, starting after New Year's, we (meaning the house summit) will be start that process. It will start slow and build up and many of the serious house competitions and events will revolve around moving this story arc along. While it will draw upon things from Tarentum's past, you will not need any prior knowledge to participate and join in. We will be using these events to expand on some previously untouched (but mentioned) locations and events in Tarentum lore. Why the story arcs? Well, we have found over the years that it helps to keep people engaged. They want to know how the story will turn out and they want to influence it. Let me take a moment to highlight this: the actions in most, if not all, events will determine what happens in the overall story arc. That will be coming from you; so, in other words, it will not just be us (the summit) ramming a story down your throats. Story arcs also let us establish a fictional identity for Tarentum and that helps to separate us from other units in the Brotherhood.

We will attempt to incorporate new things like The Old Republic into it, but I'm not entirely sure how that will work out.

Some of you will be receiving an email from me in the near future to get some early feedback and ideas on how they perceive the house, what they might like to see us do, etc.
